You are correct. We live in rural QLD and have several families of Kookaburras living around the property and regularly see them catch snakes. However, Kookaburras have not ability to carry their prey by their feet - strictly by that very sturdy beak of theirs.

Nice looking coin. But I don't think Kookaburras carry their prey by the feet like an Eagle does. Prove me wrong somebody.
Good point, we are not sure, to be honest. We can only presume that the mint has done the research before creating the design...
