wow this is crazy. never expected the rangers to be the ones to do it, finally ending the tampa streak of not losing 2 in a row. even as a leafs fan I'm enjoying see the rangers do it. some great players to root for, love zibanejad, kreider and shesterkin! rangers have had it tough for a while so would love to see them go for a cup!
Could've probably won a cup for Lundqvist if it wasn't for Tortorella years ago. I'm a Rangers fan and I was rooting for the Leafs. They're missing just a couple players and with Mathews you'll be really good for the foreseeable future

Man Tyler Motte is amazing and just made for playoff hockey. What a pickup.
Yeah we miss him in Vancouver. He's all heart and never gives up.
When Motte and Goodrow returned after injury is when things started clicking for the NYR in the play offs. I have always said they are big factors. Having a 4th line with Goodrow and Motte is incredible depth bc they are also amazing Pkers. And then having a 3rd line like the kids line absolutely on fire clicking is dangerous. Depth and goaltending wins championships imo.

Rolling seven d-men with their best forward out of the lineup is not a recipe for success against a team with a world-class goaltender.
At this point, Gallant should have swapped Chytil for Strome on the first PP unit.
I love Motte so much. Just the perfect 4th line player.
Honestly hats off to both goalies! Shesterkin is doing Shesterkin things but also even if Vasy didn't get the win he still kept the game from looking a lot uglier than it could've, the rangers had some prime chances

Several teams have won back to back Cups (or more...way more) since the 1st expansion (i.e. Flyers, Canadiens, NYI, Oilers, Pittsburgh), that's NOT unprecedented, but the announcers sure were trying to inflate it..."how will one of the best teams in history respond after a loss". What?! Please, what IS unprecedented is no team has ever won the President's Trophy, set several individual, team and NHL records and been swept in the 1st round. IGORRRRR! Some of those saves he made were honestly unbelievable... he’s out here constantly proving why he’s the best goalie in the league. If he doesn’t win the Vezina this season then we’ll riot... lol.
That win was huge, even bigger than the series opener. However, we can’t afford to get complacent, Tampa will definitely be coming out a different animal at home especially since they’re two down. These boys are beating all the odds every night, so many people said that we’d be a first round exit but here we are awaiting game 3 of the East finals and we’re 2-0 up v the back-to-back champs. We’ve got all the momentum and we need to use that to our advantage down in Tampa. If we get an early goal and completely kill the crowd we’ll put ourselves in a really good position. LGR!

Motte is the ideal 4th line player that top heavy teams like Toronto could really use. Rangers probably don’t make it this far without him, he was so clutch against the penguins.

It's pretty remarkable what the kids are doing out there for the Rangers. Whether or not they beat Tampa (still going to be tough and will take 7 games if I had to guess), you have to be insanely excited about the future as a fan when almost half this roster are 24 or younger and playing at this level against by all rights a superior team in skill and experience. The window looks big for a Cup

On paper, and with Point healthy (he’s a huge difference maker), I think Tampa is the more skilled team. However, I will definitely give you that the Rangers right now are playing with a lot more skill and look like the more skilled team. They’ve elevated their play significantly in the last four games and certainly are playing better hockey than TB

This team is more balanced than the team that went to the finals in 2014. Stellar goaltending (like they had in 2014) is a given, but they actually have offensive weapons now, and young players who are making plays, and a pretty decent defense.
This just might be the Rangers year...

2014 team had more team speed and some scorers, though not nearly as intimidating on offense as this squad, as you point out. Shesterkin is playing a level above even 2014 Lundqvist, which is one of the reasons they're here and 2 - 0 against these Lightning, imo.
And people said I was a fool for predicting the Rangers to win the Cup. My bracket is busted on the Western side, but my Eastern side is perfect and will be if the Rangers win this series.

Tampa Bay had a really great record in the playoffs since 2020 after losing game 1 - they are 17 - 0 outscoring their opponents, so it just goes to show what a great win this was for the Rangers!

Так что Везина у него в кармане уже наверняка, а вот на Конн Смайт Трофи, в случае выхода Рейнджерс в финал и удачной игры в нём, вполне можно тоже рассчитывать. Конечно, это было бы супер. Тампу нужно проходить, потому что она второй сезон подряд наёбывает лигу с контрактом Кучерова, который не влазит в потолок зарплат, помещая Кучерова в список травмированных почти на весь сезон. Даже разговоры идут, чтобы поменять правила в лиге, чтобы таким нечестным образом не поступали другие клубы. И это справедливо. И ещё - во всех плей-офф, когда Тампа проигрывает, Куч на льду совершает много подлых поступков, из-за чего, считается одним из самых грязных игроков лиги. Если Рейнджерс будут удачно играть в Тампе, мы наверняка такое увидим. Блин, я целую лекцию прочёл), удачи рейнджерам!
@@user-qk8us2fg3s Никакой грязной игры ни со стороны Кучерова, ни со стороны Рейнджерс не было. Был мощный, комбинационный и скоростной хоккей с обеих сторон. Рейнджерс были объективно лучше, поэтому и победили.

I love Igor but the fans need to stop that Igor is better chant. I know he's the best. I friggin love Igor. But there is such a thing as being humble. And last night the sound was taken out of the room when they were chanting it and Tampa made it 3-2. That shut everybody up real quick. Igor is not immortal but he is the best. We all know this. Not to take anything away from NYR, they are playing great and Shesterkin is on another level right now. Tampa's depth is really being challenged without the one-two punch of Stamkos & Point. It's amazing they were able to sweep the Panthers w/o him. I hope to see the Lightning win the next two at home cause I want to see this series go long it's been great
