Those one-timer shots were unreal...I'm amazed at how the game has evolved. I've watched and played Hockey for 30 years and the skill level keeps reaching new heights. Is it the stick technology or just the natural evolution of todays athletes that have better fast twitch muscle fibres and stronger hand strength, body mechanics, techniques, etc..probably all of the above. watch a 90's NHL game and you'll be amazed on how crazy good this hockey is right now
Literally what I was thinking. The skill level and speed of today’s game compared to growing up/ playing/ watching in the early 90s is insane. These are not mortals.

yo connecting on one timers is hard tho - you see on 2 of the goals the shooter is bending his knee in an exaggerated manner, i think its because the puck wasn't quite "in the pocket" .. but these dudes have practiced for situations like that and still get off wicked shots
Your right but I do miss a good scrap once in awhile. That's why I like the 90s the game was fast with plenty of fights.

@@ITzL3ACH lol oilers lost both game 1s. First against the kings and then in the 2nd round lost 9-6 to the fLames. Oilers will 100% bounce back, their series will be very competitive and could go either way. Rags on the other hand are in trouble, bolts are about to gentlemen sweep them lol

The Leafs gave TB a similar beatdown 5-0 in game 1. Tampa will be better next game you can bet your money on it. Vasey has never lost 2 in row in the playoffs since getting swept by Columbus.

Great highlight package. I like seeing the chances on goal blended in with the actual goals. Gives it a better feel for the game. Just the right length too.
Didn't really believe this outcome could be possible, but loved every second of it.
I said before the game that Tampa would lose because they would be rusty as long layoffs are not good, momentum is everything. Next game will be totally different.

As a Rangers fan, you could see how the nine day layoff affected the Lightning tonight. Game 2 will be much closer, however, great win for the Rags to start off the series!

@@mckessa17 I can’t necessarily say I’m surprised. 9 days without the fast pace of a playoff game does different things to different teams. They were talking about Vasy and only having practice pace play and practice pace shots to face as opposed to what they faced in round 1 and 2. I think they’ll heat back up in the next couple games though. Although NY is picking it up as well. Should be a good series!!

He wouldn't be the best goalie in hockey right now is he can't adjust his game to that possible leak. Shesterkin is probably the second best and Rangers are fun and strong, but the series has just started yet. We will see. Actually it's the hidden Stanley cup finals, because the other two teams don't have the goalies of such level. Don't you agree?

A lot of people will say Tampa is rusty from 9 days but they also have to remember the Rangers have played games consistently for a month now. They’re supposedly should be exhausted so rust is no excuse for Tampa’s performance

The Lightning had no momentum coming into game 1 as opposed to NY who are coming into the series off a fresh game 7 against the Canes. This is exactly what everyone (even Jon Cooper) was worried about. But that’s why it’s a best of 7!!

How the Rangers exploited Vasilevsky’s blocker side reminds me of when Vancouver figured Binnington out in the bubble & picked him apart every night. It’ll be interesting to see further in the series if this continues
They are ripping on Vasi saying he gave up soft goals cause of the delay. Which goals were soft? They picked him apart with high danger scoring chances right? Didn’t realize the blocker side point. Thanks!

I’m a Rangers fan but, it’s really annoying to see fans want Tampa to lose simply because they want the last two and we “need new finalists” to me, it sounds like greatness is hated on in hockey. I picked Tampa to win because i want to see a 3 peat. Obviously my thoughts have changed.

I knew the Rangers wouldn't go down without a fight... but they are now 1-0 up.. maybe it was the long layoff for Tampa but the Rangers are playing with confidence and purpose. Shesterkin and the defense had a great game today.
I really hope for a very competitive ECF.

Tampa fan, here. I might have a bit of bias, but I think this series will be the more exciting one of the present two. Assuming that Vasilevsky kicks back into gear by next game (and I’m hoping he will) and the Lightning defense regroup to match how Shesterkin masterfully played in this bout, I’d say we’re in for some nail-biting games where every single goal counts. In my opinion, and for that reason alone, heavy defensive games are much more exciting than back and forth high goal scoring. I’m glad the Rangers made it this far. If they push us out, they’re the ones I’ll be hoping earn the cup. That said, let’s get ‘em Bolts.
As a devils fan. Never thought i would cheer for the rangers... but now i would love see cooper and the rest of the tampa train to go crying after the series loss. Nhl need some new finalists.

Rangers might be the Lightnings LA Rams and the Lightning might be last year's Bucs, and will lose their title like the Bucs did. But that was a 1 game playoff this is best of 7 so the Lightning could still win easily.

Great stuff by the Rangers! I might be the only guy on the planet who has them taking out the Bolts. Game 1 convinced me i’m right. Not intimidated at all by the champs, quick and hard on the puck, execution on point, goalie on fire. They’ll win game 2, get one in Tampa, and end it in game 5 in NY. I’m mad? Let’s see!

Perfect start to this series for us! The home ice advantage has been and will be crucial for us especially in this series. Chytil has been a monster over the last few games in fact everyone has! Nobody has looked out of place and collectively as a team we’ve shown that we deserve to be here and that our group of kids can compete with the big boys.
Tampa defensively looked pretty slow and poor positionally, Vasilevskiy was shockingly bad, but I’m not going to complain about that. Hopefully he keeps up that type of performance throughout this series. The momentum is with us, it’s always pivotal that you get the first win in a series and we have so let’s build on it boys and take a 2-0 lead to Tampa. LGR!

Да там Тампу поймали на пересменке и в результате звено Тампы осталось на льду. Там один Сергачёв только 2:45 провёл смену...(как раз на голе в углу в правом показывают в ролике про смену тампы кто и сколько на льду) А говорят - копы устали а тампа отдохнувшая.

That's a great win for the Rangers! But keep in mind that back in game 1 of round 1 the Leafs beat the Lightning 5-0, but then lost game 2 by a score of 3-5.
So I hope the Rangers can win again in game 2 at home in New York before they travel to Tampa Bay for games 3 and 4 !

@@01TA the camera angles are throwing people off. I actually like it for replays as it shows the ice much better; space and player creativity. I actually yelled at Emily Kaplan last year for ripping on Panarin but she didn’t write the article title. I don’t have a problem with them doing in game interviews. It works in the nba.

Тампа простоялась, слишком большой отдых был, потеряла игровой ритм. Думаю уже в следующем матче будет совсем другая игра.

Tampa has faded from what they were 1-3 years ago. But. They aren't done by any means, they're adaptability is probably the best in the league. I still think they're gonna threepeat the championship this year. They can shut down extremely offensive teams better than any other team which will be difficult to deal with, especially for Colorado which I think will beat Edmonton.
As expected, no team is better match Ave in final than the Lightning. The team staved off 0-2 deficit to win crucial game 3 meanwhile Rangers couldn't manage the comeback in game 4 despite trailing just 2 goals. Ave own Rangers in regular having won all 3 games comfortably when they were both red hot back in the early season. TBL v AVALANCHE is final prediction.
