    This is the video I was looking for! I bought the Legion Slim 7 yesterday (but it will arrive in a month) and your video made me feel very pleased with the purchase. I've watched like 20+ other reviews but they are stuck on numbers instead of real performance. Thanks for the info :)

      Oh heyy thanks Aleja. Your feedback really means alot and it gives me the motivation to keep going. Too bad that Lenovo's stock availability and everyone else's for that matter, has been absolutely in the doldrums. I remember that i got my device in about 6-7 days after ordering. A one month wait for a piece of tech is a bit unfair. Seems to be the norm now.

      As far as i know, aaaaall the lights, except the power button ring will go off - The light of that ring is not too bright though. You can also switch the device to quiet mode, using the fn+q key which turns the power button light to a blue color, which MAY be lighter on the eyes? When in sleep mode, the keyboard lights all switch off and the power button ring light kind of fades on and off with a 1-2 sec interval

    • @kazmiee
      @kazmiee  Před 2 lety +1

      16 gigs should be plenty for Warzone. Extra ram would come in handy if you are running several programs at the same time for example having lots of chrome tabs open in the background while you start gaming. Gaming performance itself can see improvement if you provide greater clock speeds for the RAM. But with ddr4, i believe the slim7 comes with 3200 mhz and that is already towards the top end. For gaming alone. 16 gigs is just right

    • @kazmiee
      @kazmiee  Před 2 lety

      Hey Lav, great question. Happy to report that the legion usually remains pretty quiet. The Razer, in my experience, had that shallow whine-y sound while the legion even at full load had a whooshy sound. Legion has a quiet mode, which manages discreet environments pretty well. Also important to note, under load, any gaming laptop would be louder than the average device. For the casual gamer who likes to cross with productivity, i found the legion very well rounded. The only reason i would go for the Razer, will be for the QHD screen

    • @kazmiee
      @kazmiee  Před 2 lety +4

      Ah! Well, the S7 is made of great materials and is pretty rigid, which helps it keep cool and dissipate heat well but it may not be able to match the premium and clean feel of the MBP. If im honest, the Razer blade is the closest thing to a sort of gaming MBP on steroids. But in my experience it requires a bit of ongoing tinkering here and there for it to really perform whereas the S7 kind of just does what you ask it to do. All in all, the S7 is an awesome entry point into the world of powerful portable gaming.

    This thing is pretty incredible. Rtx 3060 Consistently boosts over 100 watts for me. I use it up on a stand and the highest temps I’ve gotten are in the mid 80s for the cpu and mid to high 70s for the gpu. I was worried about thermals, coming from the very few “big” tech CZcams reviewers benchmarks. But mine were nothing like the high 90’s cpu temps they were complaining about. Even under pretty heavy load, this thing stays relatively cool for its size. Very impressive, and great review! Enjoy!

    • @kazmiee
      @kazmiee  Před 2 lety +4

      100% agreed Campbell! For me the temps barely hit 70, perhaps that is because of the air conditioned environment. I think this device gives an awesome demonstration to desktop and console users how AAA gaming is not just possible in a thin and light portable format but actually desirable without any fuss or drama. The razer blade 15 advanced 2020 is only $1600 on Amazon right now for the RTX 2080 Super Max Q FHD 300Hz model so would that be a better deal than the legion slim 7 with Ryzen 9 5900HX and RTX 3060 Max Q which is around $1700? By the way your videos are amazing and I honestly think your channel is very underrated for such high quality reviews.

    • @kazmiee
      @kazmiee  Před 2 lety

      Oh Hi Dev! Thank you for your question and really appreciate the words of encouragement. :) Now to your question and it is a good one. Easy to get swept by the glamour of the Razer Blade for sure. Now the 2080 on paper is supposed to be performing in range of a 3070. BUT, with razer, it will have a limited TGP /power draw and may actually end up performing closer to the 3060. But still a bit better. That being said, the 2020 model will have an older processer, slower ram as well. The more recent AAA titles are better tuned for the rtx30 architecture. So in the long run, i do believe the legion will be a bit more practical. The 5900HX is a beast of a processor. And the best thing i like about the razer is the heat management. Which is insanely good

    As-Salamu'Alaykum Ali! Thanks for making my mind... I was going for blade because I like their build quality. Since I was a macbook user so I really like the build of blade which is a exact replica of macbook (I think they hired a ex-apple designer 😂) but the thermal was not good... I tested Razer Blade 2020 with RTX 2060 by editing a small video for my wife. Laptop was getting hotter and lagging while playback. Today I'm editing on my Legion 5 with GTX 1660ti. It out performed the blade 😲
    I was thinking of buying Legion 7 16" 2022 with RTX for my wife. What do you suggest?

    • @kazmiee
      @kazmiee  Před 2 lety +1

      If you have the budget, the legion 7 is a premium option. It has all the bells and whistles and a properly awesome screen BUT, has no biometric login support and has a 720p camera and the battery life is not all that great either. It may feel a bit bulky too. If you're looking for something that is easier to carry, and is more tuned towards Creators, you can also check out the asus m16, z16 or even the upcoming slim 7 with the 12th gen Intel. It would also have a 16" screen with a 16-10 aspect ratio but would be limited to 1080p though.

    • @kazmiee
      @kazmiee  Před 2 lety

    • @kazmiee
      @kazmiee  Před 2 lety

      So Nvida no longer carries the max Q brand. Instead, the TGP or power wattage being fed to the GPU is now a key measure of how well a certain gpu will perform. The legion slim 7 i believe has a 100w TGP; for comparison, that is slightly better than the TGP of a 3060 installed on a Razer blade. Another comparison: the Legion 7, the most premium offering by Lenovo, carries a TGP of upto 170w for its 3080 Variant. All new laptops usually are able to share power between CPU AND GPU depending on the workload (with individual max thresholds). It seems, the more capable a thermal system in a laptop, the more TGP can be expected as well.
