  • When business grinds to a halt, Binion's doubles down on winning younger customers with fresh tactics. They sponsor a 16 year-old car-racing prodigy to compete in their name but, despite her confidence, her pink-rimmed Camaro spins out of control. Meanwhile, the senior staff ditches their suits in favour of t-shirts to appear more casual, and mentor new young staff members. But Kim, a cute farm gal, seems to fail at every job the casino throws at her. And if things couldn't get any worse, security has to deal with a drunken flasher and his unruly pals.

This is ridiculous. You dont train ppl live and expect them to learn instantly.

I can’t believe they train people in a live pit with actual customers. In this state you learn the games and THEN get your license, not the other way around. Yikes.

It's a little bit different in Las Vegas. From what I know, LV Strip casinos will not hire inexperienced dealers. Downtown casinos will "audition" new dealers where you deal for about an hour *unpaid,* and are then hired if you pass.
I suggest that you check out the "Vegas Aces" (Heather Farris) CZcams channel.

@@djm5687 Thanks for replying. My comment was relating to the fact that she already had her license, but she didn’t know how to shuffle cards, didn’t know how to count out chips, and didn’t know how to run the game. And it’s blackjack, which is the first game you learn (usually) when you go to dealer school. I don’t know how someone who doesn’t understand how to handle money, chips, and cards gets their license. Also, she says she’s nervous because of people watching her-the pit boss, the customers, and the eye in the sky. I’m not really sure what she was expecting. Unless you’re in the bathroom sitting on the john, your every movement is being watched in a casino, whether you’re an employee or a customer. If she can’t handle that, she should reconsider her chosen field. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@nickmckenzie9686, agreed. In CA - you have to take (and pass) a Dealer School before they let you in the pits.

At least Binion’s management gave Kim a full 8 hour shift to try and master 1/3 jobs before getting fired 🤣🤣🤣

Funny how he assembles his suit-dresses 'senior' staff to concoct a plan to attract 'younger' players. Yeah like that's gonna work this way

And the plan they came up with involved bringing in a 16 year old daughter of a manager to attract the 21+ crowd. Um.

This is an entire series on Binions? Wow okay. Thought one episode pretty much told the story haha. What a dump, such a shadow from the stories of Binion's Horseshoe. I'd much rather play poker nextdoor at the Golden Nugget if I'm downtown (which is rare, so grimy down there!).

Any gambling I do does not involve dealing with a dealer now , I was playing roulette and the dealer is pointing out how much I must be up. I was pocketing my chips , I didn't appreciate him telling other people or looking for a tip!

Much of this is staged. It's unlikely many of the people would behave the way they did with a camera crew filming them. They're either playing to the camera or following a script.
