I wrote Arturia long time ago asking for midi cc mappings. They never answered me but now I know that they've been WORKING!
Yea they made a whole 3 tutorials which they rush through really fast. Now no more nothing... Ye they working alright.
How about including the fricking power supply with the keyboard!!!!! Can it only be used with the usb connector then?
hey guys, so I just bought your controller and am having a hard time connecting it to my erebus via midi cable. Any advice would be great, I've tried messing with the dip switches for both but no luck. excited to try this!
Don't know whether it's still relevant. Just in case, or if someone else reads. You might want to check a different MIDI cable, maybe yours is defect (happened to me once, realised it shortly before banging my head against the wall...). Another option might be that the KS sends on a different MIDI channel than your erebus expects. On the Keystep you set the MIDI channel by pressing Shift + keys 1-16 (the first 16 keybed keys).
Did the older one have lower power needs and this one needs more power? I don’t have the first key step and think the first one worked well with the OP-Z..
When I use the play button on the Keystep 37, it starts the sequencer on my Roland jx-08. I have not found a way to stop this from happening, either in the midi control center or the midi settings in the jx-08. Am I missing something?
I cannot assign a midi in ableton live to a knob. Why is this?
Hello @Arturia .
I have a doubt before the buy.
I work with a main multitrack sequencer.
I know the keystepS can't send program change, but change it for its own ( which is cool ) . At this point I didn't find yet in the manual if the keystepS can at least receive programe change from externals (like Beat Step apparently can) , or send it .
I wish Keystep 37 can send or at least receive program change.
*** If is transposition input part means that it is receiving program information per channel , probably means it can change program too
Cordially
Fabio
Hello,
Unfortunately the sync is not on point. It's connected with ableton, settings are sync and Ext, but the arpegiated notes are still not on the grid. Even with clock offset it's not possible to sync it properly, please help
Hi Lucas,
I suggest you to get in touch with our support team with this link:
www.arturia.com/support/askforhelp
Give them as much details as you can and I’m sure they will be able to help you :)
Best regards.
Did you get it figured out in the end mate?
@@maydaygoingdown5602 no, sent it back sadly...
@@lucasgirke2725 I’m experiencing the same problem. Did you replace it with a new one that now works or went with a different keyboard controller? Which one if so? Thanks!
@@davide2.07 Hey,
The problem was still there after changing my keystep. So unfortunately I had to go with a different one.
Its a big akai advance 49 so not really comparable ;)
Can we use this keyboard with android smart phone? Android Version 10 and above. From my concern about midi controller that can use this on the go. One of my topic is about ANDROID & MUSICIAN. Bcz from east asia is majority of the android user more than ios or mac. No discrimination anymore. Bcz android is also have a smart phone with fast, stable and smooth performance. I hope Arturia is making good quality of device for musician with compact size and light weight for on the go musician with fast and easy setup for busy guy, or for hard worker that not have so much time to spend their routine for practising or for rehability function or for enjoy the good life.
I still Miss for beatstep an API and mapping table to Connect IT with DaVinci Resolve. I have not much time to give it back to my dealer and change to Akai APC. I work with windows
It it class compliant MIDI, so I can use it with my ipad? Is your app available to use it on ipad?
Hi Benoit, you can plug it and use it with your iPad but as long as it is powered with an external power supply. Our software instruments are not available on iOS.
I hope it helps!
cool i was trying to hook up my keystep to my poly tracker and this didnt help at all
Great features the Chord-Mode and the Strumming-Mode, but, to be really useful in Live performances, I suggest :
1) Replacing the rotary knob for changing the chords types with dedicated buttons for each type of chords (dedicated button for the major chords, dedicated button for the minor chords, dedicated button for the 7th chords, etc.), these dedicated buttons allow the user to change quickly the cords types in Live performances.
2) Adding two dedicated buttons for the Strumming-Up and Strumming-Down functions, these dedicated buttons allow the user to change quickly the Strumming types in Live performances.
So the power supply should be: 12V DC 1500mA.
My question: can i use a 12V DC 2000mA power supply????????????????????????
Of course. Voltage is the one that has to be spot on. The current (in Amps) is a minimum so a 2000mA PSU is more than sufficient because the unit will only draw as much current as it needs. Just be sure the polarity on the connector is correct!
