One of the best strut spacer installation vids out there, straight to the point, and easy visual! thx!
I actually watched this more for strut replacement how-to. Better than other vids. Thanks!
The best instructional vid for installing 04-08 f150 leveling kit, hands down. Awesome!
Best HOW TO video I have ever watched! Perfect camera and explanation.
So clear; so visible; watched this vid, then went out and installed the lift on my truck. Many thanks!
Excellent video. Super helpful saying what size sockets are needed. I'm starting on this lift tomorrow and never would have guessed I would need a 27mm for the strut. Thanks a ton!
Could not ask for a better step by step walk through on this process, well done.
this video was well done and informative with step by step instructions the only thing that will make it harder is I don't have a lift or air tools, will have to do it old school! Thanks for sharing Robert
This is like 6 or 7 different how tos all in one really. Good quality work and film job!
Can't recommend this video enough. Followed it to the "T" and just finished on my f150 and I love the look
Excellent video! I just finished my lift. My sway bar link was a little different but it was still easy. Thanks 👍
Excellent video, very easy to understand and the explanation of the steps was very good!
Im not even doing anything to my truck and this was a gr8 POV video. Felt like i was there. Everybody posting how to videos on YT should take notes
That was a awesome explanation on it about the best i have seen. Helped me out hugely. Thanks
Good video; glad you could find something useful for that tie
Good job editing. 15:30 you can see the sway bar is connected 15:41 you begin to tighten the sway bar lol. I installed a level kit on my truck today your video helped me out a lot. Thanks
Martha
Great job brother! Love the attention to detail. You sir are a fine Technician 👍
By far the best how to video!
Replacing strut or leveling.
👍👍
Great video. Did this job in a couple of hours after watching this video even with a trip to the local auto parts for sway bar end links. Seating ball joint on the upper control arm by levering it with the spring in order to tighten it down was key....that sucker spun and spun until I put the pry bar on it. Thanks
Yeah, lots of positive comments on here and you've earned them all. You trim the fat very well in editing too.
Thanks for the vid man, it helped me out a lot
🤔 i’m thinking he might’ve done this before. I just installed KYB struts with rough country leveling kit attached to my 2008 F150. There were literally no instructions other than to say that you should have a qualified suspension specialist perform the installation. Luckily, I was doing it at a DIY garage and someone there Was able to advise me. This video shows exactly what I did. Nice job.
Just replaced my struts on my 04 with a leveling kit - thanks to you perfect video!
Did you feel any changes in height
?
Video was a big help. Thanks. Had to beat the hell out of one side to get it to release. All went well.
Thanks man this helped me out I knew how to do it but you showed me the correct order to do it. I really appreciate it 🙏
this video has 5 stars,it helped me a lot, thanks.
Thank you for the great tutorial! Making videos as much harder than it seems, great job!
This guy did the best 04-08 f150 sunroof install repair video! I just subscribed! He’s great! And great job brother! I’m a fan!
What a fantastic video! Great stuff man!
We can tell you must be working in the south...judging by the LACK of rust on this truck. It looks really good!
Great video, I did the rough county 2.5 leveling strut kit
Just bought a 05 xlt 4x4 cant wait to put a front level on it.
Dude...PERFECT how-to video!
Subbed
Thank you. I was stuck and you fixed it.
Just bought a Skyjacker Suspensions 3in Leveling Kit I’m gonna try this out hopefully it works.
Wow, the 2004-2008 f150 lower control arm makes it very easy to slide the lower strut back, I just put a 2" level on my 2013 and getting the strut back in was a real bitch!
Thanks, this video helped me a lot
Great Video!! Very well done!!
A Drift Pin helps align the Bolt holes. Makes it a lot easier when assembling things with bolts. I use the Metal (S) hook to hang the caliper on. You can work more efficiently if you use the (S) hook and drift pin as needed. Other than that great tuturial.
Fantastic video. i have watched other but this is flawless if you are working on a customers vehicle. personally i would not use any loc tite or torque anything to exact specs i just torque until my arm physically trembles. overal 10/10
How long have you been doing that?
Awesome job.... No way I'm taking it to the shop after this video... 👍🏾
Good video & good direction....about to do this very procedure on my '07....thx
Very good video great work thank you for teach us how to do the thing easily
Thanks for the informative video bud. Sure came handy.
Very good and informative video! Thanks
Damm this video was good! It was perfect and to the point just like if it was my DAD telling me what to do.
Excellent video
This is a great video this guy is a pro. I lifted. a 2002 f150 2wd SuperCrew. I used to wrench back in the day. I chose to have a shop do the lift, they have all the correct tools and do This every day. I would probably smash my finger In The process. LOL
Thank you very much you helped out a lot.
Nice vid man
Thanks helped al bunch on my 2004 F150
What size rims did you put on your Ford F-150
“
Be ready too catch this nut” is crazyyyyyyyy
Thanks for the help bro
Great Tuturial. Needed instructions to lift the front of my Lincoln Mark LT. Its just the luxury version of the Ford F 150.
Do you need any special tools for the spring
@@jlowleaf8635 No special tools required. I bought Monroe Quick Struts.
Its the entire assembly. The Shock & Spring is already assembled. Just unbolt the Old Struts and install the new Struts along with the lift kit pad on top of the Strut. Just watch this video again. The installation is actually very simple. The lift kit made my truck look much better.
@@davidhall3747 I rewatched it show he didn’t use any I figured might would have use something to press the springs
I have the same BF-G's on my truck, but i did white walls out. it made it look meaner.
good looking tires, I always like the whites out too
Very good video....thanks for you help.....l hope other people have the same knowledge to do a very good video...
thanks so much, this really help
Amazing job thanks you
Just installed this today.
Didn’t have to remove brake caliper at all also didn’t have to remove tie rod but is easier to put strut back with tie rod disassembled
Yeah I didn't see the point removing caliper
Nice good job it’s help me a lot
Great video I'll definitely be using it I do wish you would have shown the finished product
Great video!!!
Ok! I totally get that this was an install video, but I would have love to see the truck before and after and a description of the size of leveling kit used a 2" or 3" or 2.5" i wanted to see how low was the truck before and how level to the rear it turned out. other than that, great video and pretty clear instructions.
Agreed kind of worthless not seeing the difference
Can you do this job with out removing the lower strut bolt
I used a 1.5 spacer, got a level of 2.5 in front. My back is sitting 1inch lower, thinking of adding an extra leaf spring to back for that extra 1inch rear lift. I currently only have 1 leaf springs and get a big sag when loaded.
Nice job
Great video thanks 🙏
Best instruction video it makes me feel so much more confident in doing it
Fantastic Video. The instructions that came with the 2-inch leveling struts I purchased from High Country for my 2008 F-150 came with instructions that were as confusing as hell.
Thanks for posting this.
Great how to video
nice explanation
Was I imagining it or was the steering knuckle cracked all the way across? Or was that a cast line?
That upper control are ball joint its done man
It helped man. Can we see a finished product of how it sits?
This is a f*ckin good video. Thank you.
Great Video, You Sir Do Great Work--BUT--You don't have to Remove the Caliber at all.....
I thought the same thing but I noticed extra stress on my lines
Could you do an instructional video on how to install an after market head unit in a f150?
Im wondering the spindle and upper control arm verly hit the spring is that safe to drive?
Did u have to do anything with the control arms or spindles.,, How has the ride been since installing
Is it possible to use a coil compressor tool to compress the spring in place and install the spacer without completely disassembling the control arms? Or will the holes not line up properly?
I was wondering did you un-plug the battery before you started working.. I just recently did a spacer to my front( 2wd) (2 inch) without disconnecting the battery. And I didn't pull out the tires rode to it fullest and now I having noise while I'm on the road (10mph). What am I'm missing here? Thanks
I did this process on my 06 4×4 f150 wirh a 3" spacer but i was not able to push up on the control arm instead the jack lifted up the truck. Does anybody knows why?
Question.... when the truck was on the ground, did the steering knuckle and cvs level out or was it at a bad angle?
You're supposed to put the full weight of the car on the strut before you tighten it. That's the actual neutral position. Same goes for the upper ball joint assembly where it mounts to the frame. Just sayin'
That rear strut bolt is accessed a lot easier from the engine bay and an extension.
He would have had to be pretty tall for that in this case.
Great video this way is easier but what if when taking the upper ball joint the bolt just free spins after ya loosen the bolt ?
Ik it's a tear late but that would mean it's worn out
You know that's a southern truck!!! No northern salt road damage anywhere
What do you do when the upper ball joint spins when you try to tighten up the bolt?
I have 02 F-150 2wd with 3.5 “ spindle install ,I wanna install 2.5 leveling kit or 2 “ what recommendation?
I just did this myself, a couple things I did different is not remove the brakes and rotor, not really necessary. Also why do you address the strut bolt from the bolt side and not the nut side? I find it easier to turn the nut instead of fighting the friction of the bolt through the strut. JMO. Still a good how to for the uninitiated.
I did this but now my steering is tighter and it looks like my upper control arms are slanted downwards, is changing the knuckles to longer ones needed or should I replace the springs? The spacer was 1.5 inch, It’s 2.5 inch level in front now.
Its ok for spring to be seated on other end with no issues? after spacer installed
That looks like a 2’ spacer. I have the same on my truck. Is there a reason my cv axle boots blew out and lower ball joint??
And what did you do about the fact that the UCA touches the spring?
So what about the upper control arm drooping down hitting the strut?
I just bought some 35 12.5 18s I'm wondering what I'm going to have to do so I don't rub some say the want some the eill
sawzall !
Worked on this today on my 08 f150 4x4. Video is great and very instructional, but it will not work on my truck for some reason. When I rotate the spring and put it back in, the spring is in a bind and it was almost impossible to get the lower mount back in its seat. And once it was, I could visually see that the spring wasn't straight. Then, because of the spring not sitting correctly anymore, the upper arm will NOT come down far enough to get the ball joint bolted back up. The arm hits on the spring. So, now I get to take it all back apart and put it back to stock. I say all this to let people know that there must be some variances in trucks and geometry or something, because it didn't matter how big the pry bars I had were, it wasn't happenin. :(
What kind of tire shine are you using, I love the matte finish
Hey man - great video! Question for you, though. I've seen a couple comments that going any more than 2" on a leveling kit can mess up some of the other distances/clearances...and I think the Rough Country spacer is 2.5"...did you notice any problems after installing this?
You are correct you have to be careful on the F150s. It will cause alignment Problems. I had a front end shop do lift/ level spacer kit on top of the coils on my 2002 Ford F-150 2wd I used an all steel Torch off road spacer 3 inch lift. Everything lined up good except for the Camber the tech said now you need longer upper control arms so we can get get back to specs. As she sits now I love the look. And lift but my camber bolts/adjuster they are maxed out and will not adjust anymore out. My truck rides good all steering works well. I also used longer rough country gas shocks it rides super but I’m negative 2 degrees on my camber the inside of my tire will wear the tech said so now Im in Search of different Camber bolts? Or I may have to go with longer upper control arms ? for now I’m just going to enjoy the ride
Update: As of 3/21/22. I found New adjustable/ greaseable Camber bolts on e bay. McBay performance. Installed new upper stock control arms new lower ball joints replaced pitman arm and tie rod inner - outer. Sway bar bushings poly with correct lube. Alignment is back to specs truck rides 👍 good
2.5 is max with these trucks
Is it necessary to remove the caliper , and swaybar nuts ??
is it okay if the upper control arm is pushed so far down it hits the spring because mine hits
How do I rotate the top of my strut 180° for my 2" spacers
once the top is bolted slide a large screwdriver through the hole at the bottom and turn it..
