  • It's here! The Khaos Forge! This 192 furnace array / super smelter can smelt an entire shulker worth of items in about 2 minutes. We also made it pretty lag friendly with nearly full hopper locking and very little redstone dust.
    Big thanks to Monochrome Art (a.k.a Monochrome Sauce, a.k.a iron_shooter) for his contribution to this design. We've been working on it for months together to get it just right.
    I'm super excited to see what applications the community has for it!
    I also tried my hand at some limited editing. I'll get better at it.

    I don't know if I will actually build this in survival but there are loads of bits and pieces of it I am. Some very cool stuff. Thanks for sharing.

    Congratulations on getting this smelter to a well enough state to publish this video

    The alignment method you're using to split the smelted entities between two hopper carts is brilliant. This would double the efficiency of the furnace that I literally JUST posted a video on lol. Back to the drawing board!

    Once dispensers can fill empty buckets from cauldrons, super smelters will be using lava buckets :3

    Pros and cons versus mango's 144 furnace array with minecarts?
    He also used a shulker box distribution system to make in total 12 modules, which added up to 1728 furnaces. Correct me if I am wrong, but I remember his system can take partially filled shulker boxes as input, works with mixed inputs (or single item type, then can remove hoppers under the furnaces), and does not seem to restrict on particular fuel types, as long as not using bamboos.
    Also is the water stream necessary? As that prohibits from building this in the nether (not really a requirement, though).

      @@huazai7850 ok so what I understand is the following (there's a TL;DR at the end):
      1. mango's system is less fuel efficient and less lag friendly by a mile than the system me and raps designed (and the difference will be quite huge I suppose, due to the number of unlocked hoppers, carts and dust).
      2. unlike our system, mango made it so it can handle mixed items, which is an easy to fix flaw we plan to implement in v2 (and mango showed an unloading system in the video that can help us with that quite a bit). the reason we didn't fix is because we noticed it the day before recording.
      3. mango has a more modular and dynamic system for smelting, and a shulker loader more fitting for that as well (the loader can be improved quite a bit tho, by using a single 4 wide mixed item 8x loader, and 3wt is easy to make anyways).
      TL;DR
      if you want a dynamic system for very fast smelting that can handle half filled shulkers - choose mango.
      if you want a bulk smelter that is very lag friendly and uses fuel very efficiently - choose raps.
      thx for showing me mango's system, it will help us improve the v2 even further!

    Stupid question but how do you put the shovels in the hopper minecarts for the fuel?

    • @monochromeart7311
      @monochromeart7311 Před 3 lety +1

      the carts are being locked by activator rails, like that they don't suck the shovels from the carts above them, so you just need to make them go over the activator rails that are already there, and place the shovels in (the order doesn't matter anytime they go over a powered activator rail before a different cart gets above them)

  • @rhueoflandorin
    @rhueoflandorin Před 3 lety +1

    Also, i don't get why you have to do full shulkers...
    even if you're using a shulker loader at the backend, all you need to do is set up a clock with a reset, that basically says, if no new pulses (no new items pass hopper)...if shulker stops filling for n_seconds, break shulker box.

    • @monochromeart7311
      @monochromeart7311 Před 3 lety

      the issue is a counter that controls item return and fuel distro, also the goal was to make it 100% fuel efficient for bulk smelting (which is why we use planks as fuel)

    • @monochromeart7311
      @monochromeart7311 Před 3 lety +2

      That's up to you, if you build it now you will be able to take it down later to reuse the materials.
      V2 will be quite delayed due to some stuff.
