my man...thank you for filling in some of the blanks about DOOM, along with some of your thoughts about some questions i've always pondered while listening to his music...honestly I was the only person that I knew that listened to MF DOOM in the early 2000's...it seems very refreshing to see others finally catching up to the worlds most mysterious MC...

DOOM fits in with Adult Swim so well I'd swear he's the one that created it. I remember these snips. I was 16 in my sophomore year of highschool and had no idea who tf this guy was. Until LimeWire opened my eyes
I kept a poster of the Madvillainy album cover hanging on the wall in my basement back in the day. (Now it is in my office). My daughters told me years later that they hated going in the basement because of that poster. They were deathly afraid of it and never told me because they knew I loved DOOM.

4:45 I just want to point out, Elektra didn't drop KMD because of DJ Subroc's passing- they were dropped because of some in-fighting and disagreement on the album cover of their second record, Black Bastards. Additionally, because of that, KMD's second record never released until seven years after its completion, under the Readyrock Records label.

Im on a far place from the US, I had a bad view on rap and hip hop as a whole until someone made me listen to MF DOOM. My perspective changed, this man had so much vocabulary and his ability to rhyme was beyond my comprehencion. Im still sad about the idea of not hearing more from him. This kind of videos make the sadness go away for a tiny bit. Thanks

This is amazing, I’ve been listening to DOOM, Madvillain, Dangerdoom and more stuff of him for a while now but I’ve never really paid enough attention to him as a person and his (non Spotify) Music history. My parents got to see all these amazing rappers in there prime, we have to see them when they pass. I’m glad we have their music and I hope CZcams is here to stay.
It really was a dope era to grow up in. I was working at Tower Records when Madvillian released. Being able to meet a lot of these guys was unbelievable. You could go to a show and meet them in the lounge. There were so many dope ass Emcees in every area. I never got to meet MF DOOM. Only saw him once. Wish I could have. He wasn't really the type of guy who hung out in the front to meet people before a show.
I consider myself very lucky to have grown up in that era. For reference, I once went to an OutKast & UGK show in a skating rink. I think tickets were $12. It's why I still listen primarily to rap music to this day. People really don't understand how good it was back then.

End of an era man, I feel like DOOM lived long enough to have and keep his old fans when he was Zev Love X and gain new fans of the 2000s and 2010s from his music, stone throws, Madlib, Adult Swim, and all the other influences touched by DOOM. Another interesting tidbit about the DOOMbots is that they also come from Marvel mythology. That was what Dr Doom called his own mechanical clone lackeys. The fact that DOOM followed through on this concept is such a testament to the strength of that character.

Even crazier that it was a life sentence, so he studied law while in prison, appealed his case, filed counter suits and got it reduced to 3 years.
The fact that we can appreciate the talent of The Villiain here in Chile, the literal bottom of the iceberg, speaks volumes about his legacy. Great video, as usual.

I was super depressed last year and avoided social media over the holidays. One of my best friends told me a couple weeks ago about DOOM's passing. So this is all still pretty raw for me. Thanks for the video. Brought so many smiles to my face. DOOM was a legend.

I discovered MF DOOM some time ago, with a meme of silva gunner. It was a rearrangement of the song rap snitches kishes with the soundfont of a spongebob game. Though it was really good, and searched on what it was based. Basically fell in love with it. And now i listen to him really often. Also, Great iceberg video! I really like iceberg contents, and this one is no exceptions. You got a new sub.
