    I'm just glad we've finally got something in this size, that's more powerful than a GT1030 or an RX 550 from Yeston... Now we don't have to sacrifice so much resolution or performance for 1080p gaming or emulating.

      RIGHT?? My favorite low-pro GPU of all time was the Sapphire 7750. I used that attached to an i3-3220 for years as a backpack travel PC to play Titanfall, FFXIV, PUBG, and Overwatch. I can't believe how good it worked and for how long! It even got above 94C in my SFF case and never once dropped clocks or slowed down. It was a BEAST! Been waiting ever since for something with just as much value and this 6400 looks to be it. Time to resurrect the Backpack Build!

      I was lucky enough to get my hands on the short run of 560's Yeston released last year, literally had to go through 4 vendors and 3 different sites lol, it doesn't help that it looks exactly like the 550 model, and that makes the 6400 looks like a bargain on so many levels, considering I had to pay $250 for something that is slightly slower than a 1050. we really need more single slot lp card options

I ordered the XFX Speedster SWFT105 Radeon RX 6400 for only 137.99 (plus tax) U.S.! I figured I should buy it before the price goes up again. Hopefully as more GPUs at this price point continue to come out on the market, the price of other GPUs will drop as scalpers find that their products are not moving and just collecting dust.
    I will gladly pay 200.00 to 300.00 for a new GPU that has the same value for for the money as this card does. I refuse to pay 350.00 bucks for a used GPU who the seller claims was "only used by my grandmother on Sundays, and was never overclocked or used for bitcoin mining." Yeah sure buddy.

    Oh, a brave hunter with a beef with, well, beef, why skip the cows in the Witcher 3? That would be a glorious hunt!
    When talking about Witcher, I'm a bit surprised with the frame drops. I've played it with R9 380, high settings, medium post-processing, hairworks off. It dropped into the 40 when galloping through the forest (not that I noticed), but I didn't have any jarring drops.
    I don't hate this card - it's low profile, and plenty is forgiven to a low profile. I'd watch the wqhd gameplay video, but honestly, I'd prefer 4k, for an actual sane reason. As an LP card, it's a great fit for a living room media pc. Almost every new TV is 4k. So, I'm wondering how many tricks do you have to pull to make the image look good enough.
    That said, this has to be tested on a cheap 4K device, as a big brand, expensive oled viewed from a distance will look perfectly fine, played at 1080p

    • @TechDweeb
      @TechDweeb  Před 2 lety +1

      In The Witcher, part of the frame drops issue is because the FPS always tanks when I start chuckin' bombs. I am running a build focused on cluster bombs, so when I throw a bomb its actually like 6 bombs at once. When I do a benchmark without throwing bombs the 1% lows are always much better.
      Good suggestion about the 4k test. I think you're right. This form factor lends itself to SFF PCs. I'm pretty sure RSR at 1080 upscaled to 4k is the closest we'll get, but even that should look much better than native 1080p. I'll give it some tests and make a vid if it's worthwhile.

    Wait, is this thing's cooler's fin stack ONLY toward the ends oh the card, making it essentially a bidirectional blower style instead of blowing it just anywhere?? Looking at the broadsides, it looks like the fin stack is nonexistent on those sides and the shroud directs it toward the ends, and looking at the pics on Google, it appears the low profile bracket actually has perforations that can release heat toward the back?? Makes me wonder why they didn't just make it a true blower style, since this IS a 55w card, and is built particularly for tightly packed, miniscule cases, such as my inwin bp655. I may hunt down a lp single slot shroud off an xfx card if I can, and replace the saphire one, once my sapphire comes in.

    • @TechDweeb
      @TechDweeb  Před 2 lety

The Low Profile Sapphire Pulse and Power color RX 6400 GPU's have the uncovered gap's between the bracket, to where the heatsink/fan starts, this is much better for cooling the exposed caps from my observation.

    Hello Im planning in buying the xfx version but people says it overheats too much. By the way this card does what it says in every gpu brands overview , a small but with a heavy punch computing graphics entry card. P.D. Those 70c are safe for this little guy ???

    • @TechDweeb
      @TechDweeb  Před rokem

      I wouldn't worry about the higher temps. The gpu is designed to throttle at higher temps. It's not unsafe to let it run hot. Running hot is more of a comfort thing, with the fans spinning and generating heat. Obviously you don't want your gpu to be throttling and reducing performance, and that will come down to your case, but it'll always be 'safe'.

      @TechDweeb  Před 2 lety

      If you're wanting to stream, if you had your heart set on this GPU then I'd suggest getting the best CPU that you can for your budget. Something with lots of cores would be ideal. If you get an intel CPU, like a 12400 or 12100 (non-f) then you would get access to Intel QuickSync that would let the built-in processor encoding handle the streaming. The 12400 is an amazing CPU for the price, that's definitely the one I'd go with, personally, because that will give you room to upgrade the GPU someday and not be held back by the CPU.
