Gotta build the trenches, secondary, LB core, and Rb imo through the draft… really love sweat as a MONSTER in the middle that will COMMAND double teams every play and free up the LB’s to shoot through gaps and make plays!!!

@@andyadams7806 Yeah the trenches and LB will likely need a heavy focus. Definitely want to find CB2 and RB2 as well.
I know many are hopeful for Sweat, but realistically, I'm hoping they land one of Murphy, Newton, Jenkins, Orhorhoro, or Carter.
You can see he understands angles and timing on top of the ability to get out of his transition. The pass break up looked impressive. That’s a part of what separates him from last years group of safeties, he can judge space between him and the ball well even in longer distances. Felt like Savage could only do so in short distance situations.
With Wyatt out there in passing downs, we will get a lot more finishes on plays and turnovers. Just need a solid diagnosing LB next to Quay so we don’t have huge vacuums of space that make for unnecessarily large distances of space to cover for McKinney.
Yeah you can tell McKinney has a feel for space working backward and away from the LOS and Savage had better feel working top-down where he could have eyes on where he was headed. Definitely a big difference, agreed.
Yeah finding the right LB will be key.

This team is shaping up to be a very good football team and they’re so young. Exciting stuff and still have the 2024 NFL draft to go. They need to get a stud linebacker early in the draft, fill out the OLine, add depth to the DLine, and maybe even get a 3 day steal at cornerback. If they hit on some of those guys in the draft they will be scary good. We have the smartest people right now running this organization. It's a good thing you brought up the tackling thing. The object of the game is to get the guy down not light them up. How many times have you seen a guy go for the big shot and whiff or even worse hurt a teammate who's also going for the tackle.

@@JakeSchyvinckNFL I fully expecting a shutdown CB high in the draft. Gute's taken a CB in each of the past 7 seasons but only Jaire panned out as a star. That and a right guard would be nice early on.

No doubt! Great processing helps enormously. Also handy to have that range and ability to maintain top speed on a path adjustment as well.

Hes shown he's a good, if not elite GM by rebuilding our entire WR core in 1 draft, and the rest of the team over the last 2-3 drafts.
Maybe he was right not giving in to Aarons every demand, I mean even if he did get higgins, I've seen rodgers choke too many times in the playoffs to believe he wouldn't do it again. (Most of which came from him refusing to throw over the middle of the field/look off "his guys" and just throw it to the open receiver) yes he had bad defenses behind him, but he also put up some absolute stinkers, especially vs SF and TB
I think it was fair to doubt Gute up until 2022. Obviously the Jordan Love question had to be answered, but the drafts were a struggle, and the all-in FA approach couldn't get them over the hump. But, he masterfully moved on from Rodgers/Adams to get GB back into a contending window quickly.

Until I saw how much more he was able to do without Rodgers questioning his every move publicly, and forcing him to sign his washed buddies (Cobb had like 30 yards total for the jets last year, Lazard got benched while being paid over 10 mil per season, Hackett having a job, etc)

His ball skills remind me of Charles Woodson. Not saying he is because Charles had better hips so he could play any position at a pro bowl level but the ball skills alone is amazing!

Safety is so weird at the combine, just feels like it will be forever a position to ignore straight-line 40s and look at GPS data, especially because they often don't run in a straight line and adjust path at top speed all the time. Much more important. Saw it with McKinney, Hamilton, now Kinchens did it at the combine.
