We all know how fortunate those have been in the past, who got into a booming market in the first and second waves and got insanely wealthy, just by being early with it. Well the problem is that as I stated, "We all know" - If everybody thinks this way(+that shit being pushed hard) hardly anybody is that "early bird" anymore. It's a hoax on a meta level, they are selling you a mental image of being 'cutting edge'. People are being benefited of by selling them an image and belief that they are the ones benefitting.

I know coke is "bad" for you, but it also tastes good and fine in moderation. There are certain NFTs I would consider buying for at least entertainment/collection purposes - or even to support my favorite skater/filmer, but not just blindly treating them as an investment and expecting it to make me rich. People hate on the NFT provider for wanting to "get rich quick", but it's also the consumer who sometimes wants to "get rich quick". People need to be smart about how "get rich quick" almost never works for either party, but we're free to try (within the law).
I think the hate is well-deserved, because it's not the proper way to utilize the technology and it has direct consequences at every level, from environmental (misuse of power and resources, pollution, etc) to the lowest consumer; the pump-and-dump schemes are not aimed at scamming other billionaires, they are aimed squarely at the single-digit-IQ kim k fans for example...

However, some things are also hated on prematurely, and some stuff will evolve or have it's uses. I'm all for people throwing out ideas and seeing what sticks in the real world.
