    Hope it helps anyone else that was looking at or thinking about buying this board setup.

    I made a light setup last year and I found that the biggest change was when I went for smaller wheels. I found a pair of 42mm’s and it made a world of difference in how fast the board can flip and spin, but it rolled for significantly less longer.

    • @Rory-D
      @Rory-D  Před 2 lety +2

      Ahh true. i can see what your talking about that longer wheel rotation will delay each wheel spin like a vinyl record. very interesting man.

    This is my dream setup since my left ankle and right knee were badly injured last year. I don't actually pop my board that high before
    my injury, but of course, it still sucks when your knee starts to hurt even with just warm up tricks, not even starting your session, especially when you're using heavy Indy regular trucks.

    I just ordered the same board in 8". Also have another Almost mullen resin 7 deck. I've liked Almost for past years now. Something about the shape and kicks I enjoy. Mellow or steep both are good to me. Also their stiffness and how snappy they can be.

    I have made in China cheapo ceramic bearings from 15 years ago. That are still rocking. But shield less as over the years I've lost them. From riding and cleaning. I lost like 3 then took the rest off. But there still rocken. Tbh. Me turning 40 this year. And have had a heart transplant a year ago. I'm going to try the impact light with maglight trucks. And if I can get my hands on some Powell dragon formula wheels. And more cheapy ceramics from china. There are some great industrial bearings company that are no names in skating. Just a pain in the ass to get.

      that sounds like a sweet ride mate, good to hear your on the mend and getting back on the board, i can relate. Its tough after a serious/life changing injury. Also ive considered looking into bearing company's outside of skating as well, I reckon there has to be some industrial manufacturers out there that make heavy duty bearings.

    hopefully you got the mag lights from last year because tensor is using aluminum baseplates on this years baseplates which adds 25g to each truck. check the bottom of your baseplate it should say magnesium under tensor. if it doesnt then they arent as light as the mag lights should be.

    Rodney Mullen is okay but Shaun White is better. He accomplished more at a younger age, and won more contests and gold medals, broke more records, and landed harder tricks than many skaters were never able to land in a lifetime. And he was not even a real skateboarder to begin with, he was just a snowboarder who skateboarded on the side. Rodney Mullen is not that good of a skater in general he is just known for doing a bunch of random flashy tricks before everyone else was doing it. If Sean White was alive back in the days he could have done the same thing as Rodney Mullen and better. Rodney Mullen is like a random YOYO expert who does a bunch of flashy tricks.
    But anyways thank you for the review. I am looking forward to buying this light skateboard with the lightest possible setup just because I feel like common skateboards are too heavy.
