- Today we figure out what is the most expensive skateboard I can build that someone could order from a skateshop. The goal of this video was to build a complete skateboard setup by finding the most expensive parts on a variety of skate shops. I followed 3 rules for this process.

Rule 3:
Only buying from actual skate shops. Not Craiglists, Facebook Marketplace, eBay or anywhere else that might sell "rare" skateboards.

The Bruce lee grip tape you can find almost anywhere else or around 16 dollars
Bro you shoulda added shock pads/risers and also slide rails and different bushings you could get it up 100$
I don't want to say that the Uber Lights and Tensor Mags are necessarily worth the extra money but...as an aging skater, I can see why Rodney designed these. They definitely help restore some of the pop in your old man legs.
The bones ceramics, dont only have a high abec rating, they have ceramic ball bearings, so they dont wear down or rust nearly as easily
The balls in the bearings might not rust as fast, but every other metal aspect of the bearing will and if you're letting your bearings get moist in the first place then they'll break just as fast. The ceramic material will allow the balls in the bearings to spin faster and not distort as much due to the usual heat on metal but other than that I see no real advantage.
@@junohawley The ceramic lasts longer because if you take care of your bearings, and oil them and keep them from rusting, the ceramic doesnt wear out as easily as the steel ball bearings. But I agree that they probably arent worth the price because im sure 5 sets of regular reds would probably lasts longer than 1 set of ceramics. Im pretty sure they are so expensive just because the cost of manufacturing is a lot higher than just normal steel ball bearings. I would only get them if I was stupidly rich.
Ceramic doesnt rust at all, and the race of the bearing will rust, but it comes clean a lot easier that the actual balls themselves do.
Just because you get ceramic bearings, doesnt mean you can get them wet and/or not take care of them if you want them to last.
@@VashStarwind Honestly yeah, a bearing is just a bearing to most skaters and a lot of people just get a new set every year or so, ceramics are interesting but unless you're doing some serious work on them frequently and cleaning them somewhat regularly they're mostly a way to show-off your bank balance lmao, was just trying to point out though that the advantages don't seem to outweigh the price to people outside of the 1% of consumers
Got some bronson ceramics for my new setup just waiting on the titanium indies soon. Was thinking bout goin bones Swiss which were 60 or the bronson ceramics which were 80. Wound up going bronson ceramic, formula 4 SF 54mm 99 duro, titanium 149 indie trucks. Gonna be a sick setup. But I did upgrade the bearings in my complete to the bronson G3’s and they are pretty good. Keep in mind not only about lasting long but also spinning freely and gliding longer per push. Better bearings are faster and less effort to go a further distance

Just bought a new on for 225€, the deck was 75€ and the trucks were 90€ (pair, each one 45€)

What i just bought the Bruce dgk board itself for only 54 shipped with free dgk ying yang wheels. Not sure if I want to set it up tho since my first deck but was a good buy so got it. What trucks do you recommend for a first time skater.? I always been into the sport but never had a board.

I stand with those Swiss ceramics. Great speed and continual roll, and if they start running bad clean em and grease em then they are brand new again

I know that they're not "normal" trucks, but you could get cnc machined downhill longboarding racing trucks which can be up to hundreds of dollars each (for example aera cnc trucks, where 2 is $500+)
bro im waiting for my trucks, wheels and bearings to arrive (i already have the deck and grip ready) and its coming in the next thursday but it feels like its taking ages

a friend of mine recently got a new setup and picked one of those the mandalorian x element decks. the deck was 139CAD before tax

When buying a skateboard complete you really just wanna put you're dollar towards a good set of titanium trucks, swiss bearings. The board is taking most of the damage so you can cheap out on that abit the wheels are relatively the same just differing in price usually depending on size or the technology you can build a really good setup at your local shop for a little over $200 bucks the trucks and bearings will be the most expensive

My advice is never buy from these corporate stores, and support your local skater owned brick and mortar. Ive skated a set of bones Swiss for 10 years now..clean them once a year...and fast! You get what you pay for. And if you follow these rules, maybe we'll keep some jobs in North America!!
Some griptapes are selling for more then 50$ , my girls nephew has a board with mouse griptape he got at a yardsale and i looked up the griptape was at 55.99
Do a Goldy Locks Board one that is Not cheap Not Crazy Expensive but one that is just a Banger of a Board
damn, prices over here are so much higher rn... i mean it's been two years, all those parts are us imports, inflation, the euro is extremely weak (almost 1:1 with usd) and there is/has been a worldwide health/economical/supplychain-crisis. but still, i just configured a board that came out at 235€, despite cutting corners and researching sales and best value parts. the most expensive part being a P/P flight deck (to be fair, that is one of the highest priced boards anywhere) which comes in at a minimum of 119€ here... *cries in german*

You also should look up supreme decks or takashi Murakami decks
If ur gonna count those then include the Louis Vuitton skateboard or the marble YSL skateboard that is over 6k just for the deck, wheels and trucks not included

Indy 129mm trucks are too small for your setup. Should have at least gotten 139mm size trucks.
