Here's the whole set-list: Al Green - All you need is love Cyndi Lauper - Hey bull dog Dave Edmunds - A day in the life Joe Cocker - Come together Daryll Hall & John Oates - Don't let me down Terence Trent d'Arby - You've got to hide your love away Kylie Minogue - Help Lou Reed - Jealous guy
thanks sooooo much for this gift, i consider myself a big Beatles fan and this tribute to John is great, Love that all those musicans pay tribute to one of the best in music.
What I don't get is why Paul sent in such a small snippet of PS I Love You and Love Me Do, when he had added a John Lennon tribute to the set list for the 1990 leg of the tour which consisted of Strawberry Fields, Help and Give Peace A Chance. Sure others were already doing those songs, but if Paul claimed Strawberry Fields for himself, I doubt anyone would've complained.
Thanks for posting the whole concert. I did not even know this existed. You'd think it would've been better advertised since they said it was meant to be televised on his 50th birthday. Completely missed this. I wonder if they ever released the double album of this concert they claim they were planning. I'm assuming it did get a VHS release, since this doesn't appear homemade. Or is it taped off TV? 😁
I was there. The touts were crying their eyes out because they couldn't get rid of their tickets. I remember there was a lot of stop starting because it was being filmed for the tele, plus a lot of the covers were awful.
Hey guys, is there a better quality version of this 3 hour concert? The other videos I’ve found haven't been this long and not in HD :( any chance someone knows where to find the full 3 hour version in HD? :)
I won tickets to this concert on the David Hamilton Capitol Gold show. The question, what was the name of John Lennon's first band ? I won the tickets on a Thursday and the concert was that Saturday. My boss at the time heard me on the radio and allowed me the time off. London Euston to Lime Street, concert, Lime Street back to London all in under 18 hours. Amazing artists, a young Kylie Minogue was booed as she was the new style of bubble gum pop artist. Some awful covers, some great ones. What a man JL was, still remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard he was murdered. Hope to God the MC continues to rot in prison.
The concert for geaorge gig still hasnt been realiseased for free... like the tribute to the man it should be for generations to come! And the orgional John gigs pretty much a no go interms of quaility! .. I hope i Paul & Ringo arent expecting a big whoohaaa when they bite the dust , beacuse if this is how they put their millions to remembering their brothers in arms... i shaw wont be giving a fuck ! Shame on you Paul! Shame on You Ringo!
That's not fair. Neither Paul nor Ringo own the rights to these programmes. My Concert for George DVD says its copyright is Oops Productions and there's some connection to the Material World Foundation (charity). This programme seems to belong to John Lennon Tribute Ltd, which is some sort of corporation created to put on this tribute. Of course, your point is valid. There's nothing stopping Paul or Ringo from mounting their own tributes, which they haven't done.
Absolute garbage from start to finish. I watched it in Wales with my beautiful gf and a few mates. Probably the second biggest disappointment of my life.
@@billysequins I thought that Lenny Kravitz' Cold Turkey and Cyndi Lauper's Working Class Hero were the major highlights, myself. I liked Natalie Cole's Lucy as well.
I do remember this concert it was more than 30 years ago and was a wonderful homage to our musical friend John Lennon.

Didn't someone do "Norwegian Wood"?
Thank you

Talented man
Did you drop the VHS on its head? 🙄
Has this ever been released on cd?
Please let somebody upload without any ridiculous TV signals and messed up video and too early audio!
could someone add timestamps for each song
Ive gotta spank my cellphone 🤯
I was there. I'm the one on the right.
Joe Cocker screwed up the song. He went into the chorus after the first verse. I think he was stoned or something.

Who is singing with Hall & Oates?
Joi
beatles always sound good with Joe Cocker, and it's just me or it just became a stripper song 16:52 just by hearing him XD?

Oh FUCK OFF Yoko🖕🏻
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Terrible concert. Everyone made a horrible mess of all the songs.
Not everyone - Joe Cocker and Randy Travis did decent versions of Isolation and Nowhere Man respectively

christopher reeves more like christopher walken
Lousy Tribute to the great John Lennon. Video was horrible.
