I understand why they cut Crazy little thing called love from the theatrical version.. but why this song? It was only a minute and 20 seconds. I love this faster live version of only the first verse. Would’ve been great to see in the theaters
Matt Sandelin The entire song had of course been played earlier in the movie - so why do it again ? As much as I love this song, it was gonna be a bit repetitive, I think.
they didn’t want to repeat anything to make the movie longer and they wanted to keep the story moving forward, and if that happened the movie would’ve been 4 hours
I understand not wanting to be repetitive; however, bohemian rhapsody was in the movie 3-4 times. This song is probably their 2nd or 3rd biggest hit, and this live version is completely different than what we saw earlier in the film. It’s only the first verse and it’s sped up quite a bit. Plus, the energy from the crowd is amazing on this one. Being only a minute and a half long, I definitely think they should’ve kept it in. But I suppose now that’s what the extended cut is for ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So after watching Boh Rhap dozens of times and having to switch to the Extras to see the full 20-minute concert every time, I can finally nit-pick something they got wrong in the movie... well 2 somethings... firstly the big white clocks were missing at the side of the stage in the movie which were very visible at Live Aid when the cameras were following Freddie around on stage and also when Brian was up at the mic singing back-up vocals, and secondly, the real Live Aid crowd at Wembley were doing 3 hand claps for We Will Rock You not 2 as in the movie. I think the movie editors took a short cut and used the Radio Ga Ga hand claps in the movie for We Will Rock You. Pity, Boh Rhap got so much else right!
Marie Johnson they may have used the radio gaga clips but the audience actually claps twice at live aid, the tempo mixed with the drums make it seems as if theres the addition clap but its just taylor's kit

I watched the live aid concert many times and couple of Freddie Mercury biographies. Rami Malek is so lucky to play the role of this amazing man.
