They have diluted the AMG brand to the point where it almost doesnt mean anything. They need to do more to differentiate the non AMGs with the AMGs

i like the route BMW took, there are the cars with regular non M engines but with M trim pieces which make the cars look hella good but dont have that 4.4l engine
next there i the M(car model here)40/50/60i (depending on the model and stuff) and those are the higher performance engines with a sportier chassis but still no 4.4 V8
and then theres the full on M versions of cars
the M5, M4, etc those are the daily driveable sports cars
then theres the creme de la creme, the dedicated M cars
the M6, M8, XM (which look ass but gotta admit, it is impressive in terms of power and handling).
I expected merc to do something similar, but they went ahead and shat the bed

the thing about lamborghini's emission calculations is that since they are owned by volkswagen, the emissions rules apply to the whole company, thats why bugatti is able to put w16 engines in their cars

BMW cars are technically very capable and often punch above their segment. Where these brands may struggle is with EVs.

@@CarswithMiles I actually comment it before you talked about it), but, you can't compare Germany with Italy and US cars, Germany have way more restricted regulations in that regard. Italy will be the last county to ban a V8, mark my words)

I think the problem with Mercedes is that they got way to tangled up with all this "F1-technology" marketing which they thought could offset the decrease in cylinders for previous C63 owners. They couldn't be more wrong.
The C63 was never about speed, it was about the sound and that raw feeling from the huge V8 in such a compact body. They lost us the moment they thought about efficiency and speed in the new one.
AMG automatically means V8 , it’s just part of their identity . Like i6 for M cars . I cannot imagine an 63 signature AMG car without V8 . It’s like taking Jesus out
of cross . Really upset with Glorious Brand who were more renowned firstly their powertrain . Hell even the ideology “One man one engine “ is ingrained in the core of these cars . Imagine from now releasing cars that deeply in the core are something that you would receive for what are you willing to pay . No more muscle no more amg .

Mercedes has a single 4cyl AMG engine for it's compact cars and now the C Class which is also more of a compact size
The GLE, GLS, S, SL, AMG GT, GT 4 Door all keep the V8

I absolutely love the design of the new C63 they just had to ruin it's heart. Furthemore, I hate how the S and The GT have nearly the same interior as the C class in terms of tablets which is utterly disappointing and cheap
Im considering trading in my genesis for an f pace svr, i looked at the GLC 63 AMGs yesterday and they look amazing inside and out but knowing that they are switching to 4 cylinder hybrids, i have no interest in getting one. It just disgusts me to even think about
Mercedes is making it seem like if you want a “V8 AMG”. You have to spend over a 100k$.
Mercedes still sells a V12-model - The Mercedes Maybach S680, which has a V12 to this day.
What’s more upsetting is a literal boat in the S class keeps a V8 but a sports car gets the disrespect of losing the V8.

Lamborghini can have v8 and v12 because they produce small number of cars, that in eu they are less restricted by emissions regulation, than big car companies

@@halowastaken10the c63se cost 140k. Put a simple tune in the m3 touring and it would blow its doors off. The s58 is a way better engine. Obv the sales speak for themselves. Everyone wants an m3/m4 and no one is buying the c63s or se.
@@halowastaken10 no it didnt lmao the driver didnt use launch control properly a simple google search shows you the m3 touring is faster and the sedan widens the gap. Check out the touring vs rs7 filmed on the same day the touring got a faster time than the merc. AMG died awhile ago, only the occasional amg one to look out for now.
They annouced that they are gonna bring the v8 back due to the VERY low demand of the v4.

Too bad the current gen C63 AMG Sedan doesn't include a hybrid, One good quality I would say is at least it's design ain't bad compared to the EQS and EQE.

What you have to understand is that this is about the climate. Things need to change. Sure we’ll miss the V8 but for the climate it’s not worth it

See the v6 in the cle53 would be alright if it was actually powerful amg is somehow able to get 400+ hp out of a 2.0 4 cylinder but can’t even get 500 out of a 3.0 v6

I get that V8s sound good. The tech in the 4 cylinder hybrid is very impressive. It's faster than the BMW M3. I mean the M3 doesn't even come anywhere close to it.
Where they dropped the ball, is making the car bigger and heavier. They should have also gone to the Italians, and learn how to make a 4cyl sound good.
My bet is this car will be a future classic, it has formula 1 tech. And many people won't buy it. So it will be rare as the years go.
If only they made it light and smaller. It would be the best thing since the E30 M3.
The Problem is, that the C63 was always the „german muscle car“, a small car with an engine wich is way too big. It wasn`t really about speed, it was about emotions. There is no reason to buy the new C63. It is slightly faster than the M3, but costs 15k more. And the quality of the interior is worse, every surface is making noices like a Tesla. If somebody wants a fast accelerating car with no emotions, they can just buy an EV. And even with aftermarked exhausts, an I4 always sounds bad (at least with modern regulations)

The new SL and new GT are purebred AMG'S. Meaning that there is no normal "Benz" model like the old SL. Also most people are forgetting that AMG are working on other variants of the new GT and SL. So for now they need to shut up and calm down. The GTR and GTS are on the way.
Ive always said if youre going to downsize an engine, at least make it a 5 cylinder. Far more interesting, desirable, better performing, and sounds way better than any 4 cylinder will.
