- Installed in my VW Transporter T6 campervan.
www.dream-ice.... have been fantastic in my order process with all the help and support i needed.
This is partly installed whilst i await another cable i need before i complete the install.
The display is fantastic, being HD its really crisp and clear. Extremely responsive to touch and easy to navigate through.
The sound quality is excellent, much improved over the Volkswagen standard headunit.
With the HDMI input, i am able to play on the Playstation, watch films and stream channels such as Sky TV, Disney Plus, Netflix, CZcams and Amazon Video. I can even watch Sky Sports.
I am going to produce further videos including how i get on with it, navigating the menus and also fitting my new Focal Speakers and AMP / Subwoofer.

I bought a VW Transporter T6 Kombi Highline van 140bhp diesel SWB with tailgate.
Slowly turning it into a camper van / day van with bed. I will also need something for cooking, cooling, sleeping, drinking ?? Choices to be made.
I have lots more to do though, I have a new electrical system, using Victron components and a Lithium LIFEPO4 battery, so I obviously need to install some power devices. I have a new sound system, with Focal speakers and ibus 2.1 amp, Playstation PS4, which will be removable, TV's on headrests.
Lots for me to look forward too and it would be nice to take you on the journey.
Please do let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions.

🤣 I waited sooo long for it, I was genuinely buzzing. Then many hours later gutted I couldn’t get CarPlay working (Apple problem fixed next morning)

Actually this video is coming in about a months time. The PlayStation is powered from an inverter with the hdmi going into the stereo. However, I do have a splitter also so it can display on the headrest TV’s and the head unit
What are the additional products needed in order to install it to a VW T6? You mentioned some CAN interface - can you tell me which one it is? I do not have multifunctional steering wheel, but multifuncion display

That isn’t something I had considered actually. I would hope it’s in a position nothing would ever come close to hitting it though

Yes I do, thank you. All working great now. The problem was with Apple, their update affected the connection with certain headunits. Thankfully they were quick to rectify the problem
Do I have to buy any separate harness to make this fit a 2015 Porsche Macan?
Yes you would need the harness to ensure the unit communicated correctly with the car. Speak to your local car audio installers or Dream Ice in Hinckley who were extremely helpful with my setup
Hope you got carplay etc to work… QQ if i may, i just bought the same unit, but the „frame“ with the little slot/space below the unit was not included… did you buy that separately?
Yes I did thanks, it was an Apple issue and was sorted by update. I bough from Dream Ice and they provided everything I needed specific to the van. Speak to them and I’m sure they could provide one
Quick question if anyone knows? Just picked up our first VW van - a 2015 T32 Kombi Highline LWB. Just can't get the bluetooth working on the standard factory fit head unit. It does have bluetooth doesn't it?
Hello, my name is Sorini and I need some advice if possible. A month ago I bought the Alpine Halo11 iLX-F115T6, and I would like to install it on my Volkswagen T6 Multivan Highline car from year 12-2015.
Having the APF-X300VW Installation Kit. We assembled everything but it doesn't work, basically the screen lights up for 2-3 seconds and then goes off.
I would like to know if maybe you can help me to make it go.

It sounds as though your power might not be setup correctly. There are 2 power feeds a live and switched live, these can sometimes be wired incorrectly

Does it have 4G / LTE connection attached?
Apple had a minor glitch with car play on 15.4.1 software as of 7/04/2022 this was resolved by them. thankfully nothing to do with the alpine
It just came on this morning when I plugged USB in. It’s also now working wireless. Fantastic unit, really pleased with it 👍
What is the sheet for that comes with it? Just about to install mine and can’t figure out what I do with it
That I believe is to cover any gaps if you have a double din, however if you have a Transporter, I expect you have got a tray to fill that space
Can this be connected to a leisure battery? So can be used with engine off ?
It certainly can, quite simply. Leaving the ignition live as normal and take the power feed to leisure battery
I’ve got the alpine 8” speakers and tweeters which sounds good with the VW Nav/car play unit . Just wondering apart from looks will this sound better?
When I was looking to upgrade, I consider the better VW units and each of the brands Alpine, Kenwood etc. I was told the audio quality of the Alpine was superior to other brands and much better than the VW stuff. With the inbuilt Class D amp in the unit, the speakers sounded better by miles.
Did you literally just plug and play all of that or did you need to cut and join wires etc..
Yes. It looks complicated, but it came with the right wiring to just connect up

@@StaycationLifestyle Thanks! I tried to undo the screws to the bracket to make it lower on the dash but they have done the x4 screws so tight I have rounded one off and can’t undo it now!
Oh no, what a nightmare. Is it completely rounded or is it recoverable? Search up how to remove it. There are methods like using rubber bands etc
What’s the fixing kit called for the halo 11 and will it need anything els I have a t5.1 with no steering wheel functions if that helps

The link to dream ice is dead, could you let me know exactly what loom/retention items were supplied? I am really interested in the unit but want to make sure I don’t lose parking sensors, mfsw, and mfd integration from the factory unit.
The Alpine APF-X300VW is the main wiring to ensure integration. If you have a reversing camera you will need KWE-CAM1D. You will also need adapters for DAB aerial and Radio, although it’s recommended to get a new DAB antenna, as the VW one is poor. Everything works great with steering wheel controls etc

Can a phone still sit on the vents to the right of the halo 11?
The screen does overhang the vents a little. It would be possible, but the mount would have to be an inch or so proud of the vent
If the gps antenna is not connected, will not detect it (I know, but that is what it is) 🤗
The gps that came with the unit is connected and works great 👍
True. Initially I was able to connect the Apple play via cable only, and after reading the instructions (which usually most people do when something doesn’t work) I found that the gps antenna must be connected for Apple play to work 😅
Does the halo 11 work with the built in factory mic?
It comes with its own mic on a long wire which can be placed in the cab roof.

Can both usb ports detect a hard drive? or is one of the usb ports charge only?
Only the black one detects USB drive. The other is for charge only. Sorry for delay, needed to test it before confirming and couldn’t find my USB, then realised I’d left it in the van 🤣
@@StaycationLifestyle Hi thanks for the update...that is disappointing...Pioneer avic headunits have 2 usb ports that can both read data...for the money Alpine should not be omitting features that supposedly lower end radios have

What are the screen size dimensions? I can't find that online!
It’s 1280 x 720p HD and it is very crisp
@@StaycationLifestyle Thank you. I imagine you would give a measurement in mm, I wanted to check if I have room around my dash FOR the 11" screen. Is it 152mmx228mm, or somehwere around there? Sorry if I wasn't clear before.

Try a authentic apple usb cord then it will go wireless
The day I installed it, there was a known issue with Apple. The following day, Apple fixed it and it now works perfectly well. It’s a fantastic unit
@@StaycationLifestyle yes I love it . I took out a kenwood 1057xr for this radio and it’s a lot better sound
Sound quality is a huge improvement over original and I’m told, better than the Kenwood 9720 I was going to get
Getting mine this week from your recommendation mate and guys at dream I’ve been brilliant with all my questions and did soon as I get it give them a ring to speak to them before I install it and he can go over everything with it for me 👍🏼 so thanks for the great video mate did you have any more of the installation as well ?
