Yeah basically. I drew up a plan for my in-laws when they went last fall and were staying at AoA: Remy, Frozen, Test Track, in that order. Based on what I heard back it went fairly well, and even though they didn't make it all the way to Test Track before the park officially opened, it was still a short enough stand by line that it was worth doing.

Our rope drop strategy is to get a genie+ lightning lane for slinky dog dash and get a lightning lane for rise. Then using early entry go to sunset and the smaller kids that can’t ride rock n roll go on tower and after the older ones get off rock n roll we all meet up and go on tower together. It is a great strategy to get all of the big rides with no wait!!

Molly, watching your Genie+ videos taught me how to fiddle faddle and I successfully modified so many lightning lanes for my family this past weekend (most proud moment was scoring an 11:20am Soarin at 11:18am) All thanks to you! Never stop refreshing!
This was a great rope drop strategy! HS has so many heavy hitter attractions that any pick for rope drop is a good call. Next time I’ll have to try Rise to see how well I do. I just got back from a trip and rope dropped Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway and barely waited 20 mins, wandered the front of the park while it was still quiet to take pics, and then went to see the first show for Frozen. It was a delightful way to start a day, especially when I had LLs already secured for Rise and Slinky.

Lol you are so right. We just went last week. The mornings were in the 40 There were folks in shorts 🥶 while my Texan family was bundled like we expected a blizzard.

on our last trip, I stack LL's for my family for Hollywood Studios for the early evening. I still rope dropped mainly because I wanted breakfast at the park. I did Tower, got a Joffrey's cold brew and the blueberry mini mickey waffles. Enjoyed them for a bit then I did single rider on smugglers and picked up a ronto wrap on the way out.
Thanks for the rope drop tips! When you rope drop Epcot could you give tips on coming in through the International Gateway? We'll be coming in by the skyliner and would love to see how you start that way since we're hoping to start in France.

The first time I went to Galaxy’s Edge I couldn’t ride Rise because it was either down or I was running around with my buddies kids. I learned from my mistakes and go first thing when the park opens and never miss it.
The last few times we have gone to rope drop at Hollywood, we have gone to Rise and they tell us that the ride is “down” and they don’t know when it will be back up. So we tried to wait over to the side or sit on the benches, and this cast member kept coming over to everyone saying that we aren’t even allowed to wait in the area of rise and we need to keep walking. She was literally yelling at us for sitting on those Star Wars boxes across the pathway from Rise, not even near the entrance. We were so shocked by this rule that we couldn’t sit there and had to keep walking? We always listen to cast members because usually there’s a reason for rules but I really didn’t understand why we couldn’t even sit there.

I like the Rope Drop series, however, I wish Molly would start the video from the Hotel, for the true rope drop morning experience. For example, I have always been a rope drop girly and many times the buses are standing room only, which can be frustrating for some guests. Especially those with young ones.
Do most people use bus transportation? I would love to see a rope drop video using the Disney bus transportation (as I have done, on my last 12 trips to Disney.) I have found it to be a different experience considering how the transportation service is operating. This impacts time to be at the park for early entry access considerably. Just a thought. Thanks.
I agree, because that is how most of us will rope drop! Could do a bus, monorail, and skyliner version!
Your right about rope dropping rise, when we went last November we were there 1 hrs before parked open. Waited in line and o get in, we were one of the first inside HS went right over to Rise just to find out it wasn’t running. So we did Slinky Dog, Toy Story got a breakfast ronto wrap all while keeping an eye on the app for when Ruse reopened. Finally, after about 1.5 hrs it opened up and we got in line. We had to wait for about 45 min, but it saved us $44 and we got to do some other rides.

This was the only park I purchased Genie Plus and using Mollys strategies, I stacked my LL for later in the day. I live on the west coast so the time difference gets me, so I was able to stack from the comfort of my hotel, sleep and still hit up all the shows and low wait times, then hit up the big rides without any issues. Game changer!

Honestly my favorite use of early entry is sitting & basking on a bench in less-crowded lands (WITH COFFEE). I can pay to skip the lines for rides during the day, but there’s no price for time, space, and relative quiet in magical places. ❤

I loved this video!!!! I hope to see you do this with the other Disney parks, and it would be cool to see you do it for universal and islands of venture too. I love Mickey & Minnie’s runaway railway so much!! Like Molly said “it just always makes you smile” it truly does. And it DOES NOT deserve the hate that it gets. It’s beautiful & fun. It’s also the only ride we have of Mickey & Minnie which is kinda crazy if you think about it lol.

Would like to see rope drop at Universal. I wish Disney offered APs early entry days like Universal does. It really is a great benefit.
Molly We have done rope drop quite a few times and we have entered to parks later with stacked times- we have fiddled faddled, we have set two alarms to purchase fancy rides at 7 sharp, thanks to all your vlogs we have had some great park visits. A day without the phone or with phone just to check times we have had not done.
We had so much good luck at HS this Christmas, we rope dropped Slinky and rode it twice, then rode Rise and Mickey and Minnie’s all before 10am! We then got Falcon, ToT and Rock n Roll in before Midday, we could not believe our luck that day, the stars aligned for us for sure!
So happy to see this video ❤ we leave in less than 2 weeks and are a rope drop family!

Rise was down when we rope dropped, but I fiddle faddled like a Molly pro and it came back up a couple hours later with a 20 minute wait and we got to ride, no problem. We also used all of her tips with Genie Plus and combined with Extras Magic Hours at Magic Kingdom the same day. We fit in 3 hours of rest at the resort and had the most epic day, thanks to Molly!!!

Last staycation, we were in Caribbean Beach resort, so we were first in line for early entry both days…. And Rise had a delay opening…. BOTH DAYS!!!! We didn’t take a chance on the second day, we bought ILL. So our strategy in rope drop with Rise closed was Smuggler’s run. After that, we went to Toy Story Land. We rode Toy story mania twice because we had a slinky dog LL later. It was great! Then, a snack of fancy pop tarts. Perfect!

We were one of the first in line for Rise when we went in October by cutting through in front of Hollywood and Vine.
Were there three times last week. Rise down every rope drop! We did wait once but did Slinky and Tower the other two days. Only one day did they announce it was closed at the entry gate. It would be nice if they did that every day it’s down.
This is so helpful. I plan to rope drop HS a couple of times on my next trip where I’m staying close by at the boardwalk!
Would love to see you guys do a video on late night things to do in disney for adults like any bars or food options that stay open late on property.
We went to tower, rock’n, and did runaway railway before the park opened to all guests. But we had fancy passes to rise… which broke down. So we couldn’t do back to back rides, then our fast pass for slinky was cancelled because it was rained out. We were next in line.

Resorts say buses start one hour before early entry, but last week at our resort (all star movies) they were there about 7:15a or 7:20a each morning.

Sorcerer Mickey is my ALL TIME FAVORITE CHARACTER! I am SO JEALOUS! We need more merch for him! I have the big plushie from the actual Disney store before they closed years ago. I loved going in that store! So many cool things and the ceiling was even cooler!

I’m not a morning person either Molly. I think 10am is my limit to get getting up early. Getting up at 8am seems like torture. But it’s Disney so that might be worth the tiredness.

Yes please do Universal! Going with my daughter and the East Palestine Ohio High School band in March to HS (1 day), MK (1 day), and Universal (both parks, 1 day)! All the kids worked so hard fundraising to be able to go, especially over the last year, trying to get back to normal since the train derailment, please all the tips and tricks to tell the kids would be much appreciated 😊❤🐾
My ideal rope drop plan: as soon as you get in the park, mobile order + pick up a Ronto wrap. Then, hop in line for rise. The wait seems much more bearable when you are also eating a morning Ronto wrap!!

we did millenium as single rider, which got us in very quickly.
think we did DHS 3 times as early entry - once for Rise, once (just me) for Slinky and then railway, then another when did all 4 parks and did Rise plus Genie plus for tower terror early.
The amount of Armageddon knowledge I now have in my back pocket is astounding. But I’m also not mad about it 😅
I know you are not a morning person BUT the busses run earlier than 60 minutes prior to early entry. They pick up early enough to get you to the park & drop off 60 minutes early. For example, we were picked up 77 minutes early for MK & got to MK 62 minutes early. They let us off the bus at exactly 60 minutes early.
We rope dropped there last week and rise was closed. Then we got over to slinky dog and it was also down. So we did Toy story mania and alien, swirling saucers.
The other day during the week that we went, we did Mickey and Minnie and smugglers run. Later on the time for both of those rides were over 75 minutes. It was crazy busy for the time of the year.

I would love your opinion. We will park hop HS and Epcot. We have early entry as hotel guests and extra hours at Epcot for deluxe hotel. Our priority rides are Rise, TOT, Slinky, Toy Story mania, Smugglers run at HS and GOTG, Test Track, Remy, and Frozen at Epcot.
We will be there mid March and plan to purchase Genie+, hope not to have to buy and ILL.

It's crazy how empty the park looks. That's my wife's favorite park, so we may need to do a rope drop there the next time we head that direction.
I might be in the minority, but I enjoy Runaway Railroad more than The Great Movie Ride.
The best time I ever had is Hollywood was when a massive rain storm moved in so most people left the park. All the rides were walk on with no lines (except for Slinky Dog, which was closed).

I'm in the camp that Rise is too unreliable in the early morning to risk it. So I would opt for the ToT/RnR or SDD/TSM combo as a better bet. Doing the two Toy Story rides also has you close to Batuu so you can then get there pretty quickly afterward. I would encourage you to show the best route to get to RoR from the front of the park. While you can usually follow the crowd, there is usually a wrong way to get to the ride for rope drop.
I bet if you put together a tour group just to do these rope drop know how/what to do would book very quickly.
