Four additional notes as Klei already Hotfixed some stuff; Bearger has actually lost damage overall in this update (plus his attacks are directional like Deerclops' and not as wide), the frogs still don't attack Merms OR Wurt, corpses despawn if you leave the screen and none of these guys can be slept, minus the frogs of course. And if you're wondering how they will do against other bosses themselves then just wait a day or two... 👀

If lunar deerclops doesn’t aim for structures does that mean she is easier to trap or can she still trample over them and destroy them.
She can still destroy things just be walking over them however I do believe you might be onto something. Have to test it and kind of whack that I didn't think about it already honestly! Still, I imagine Klei thought of this.
My guess is he wanders and destroys anything he walks on. Could trap him with lure plants though

They do, it's just that normally clops smashes things instead of walking over them and the effect has a very small zone around clops. Of which is usually used by some players to knock over trees for tons of tree goodies!
@@kasserole738 I know deerclops doesn’t destroy structures with her attack while aggrod. demonrebuilt has a clip where deerclops couldn’t trample a sign either though. Maybe there’s so weird exploit here.
I do wonder if we might be getting a shadow equivalent of these mutations within the caves? Shadow misery toadstool perhaps?

Shadow Misery Toadstool is gonna be a literal nightmare.
Sadly there aren‘t a lot of bosses that could be converted in the caves.
Fuelweaver, Ancient Guardian, Nightmare Werepig are all already shadow aligned.
Literally only toadstool is an option. I hope that we will atleast get some shadow mutated mobs down there.

One detail about the Varg’s ice breath. It can’t freeze you in place, it can only make you extremely cold.
Correct, as seen when I get hit by it in this video.
About the freezing eye If we can take off the eye or turn off the "machine" it would be instantly better end game item that completely defend your base and yourself from the whole season because it's replace every bussy work during summer no more flingomatic fueling no more Endo fire, you are cold, your plants fine, no random fire
This is going to help make great strides in helping us put together the lore
Crystal Clops may be easy but man does it look fun, I love the new boss design with the big damage phases, fun!
I'll take more of these unique mechanics over what we have had for years, yes!

I feel like lunar bearger is going to be the new meta for treechopping, I mean the guys like a blender, plus he has the butt stomp
One of the only things I a a fan of is the way that the gestalts will be shown. I love the boss down phase idea.
The Deerclops and Bearger mutant behaviors are cool since they go with the mutant forms:
Deerclops loses its eye and can't see which explains why it no longer goes for structures and may instead sense the player with smell, sound, or something to do with the gestalt piloting the corpse
Bearger not eating may just be simple as it's undead and being controlled but also its teeth look to be crystalized and jagged to the point they stick out of the mouth so may not even be able to really eat due to that
May have said it before but this is the kind of stuff that people been wanting when the lunar and gestalts where added and man is it looking wicked not to mention the details in the designs and behaviors. They could have just reskinned the bosses but instead made sure to hammer in that these are not just undead but corpses being controlled by gestalts which is both cool and dark.

im really enjoying the terraria-esque progression they are going with here, makes me wonder if we are gonna have another set of super bosses post fuel weaver/ celestial champion in the future XD

Armored Bearger is a beast against other bosses
Video is already filmed but he's not as good as people are making him out to be.
The Ice Crystaleyezer is like a reverse version of that furnacey thing you make with the Dragonfly's scales. Does anything happen if you move them close together?
i think the effects will just negate each other

I wonder what the possessed ant lion, dragonfly or toadstool would like and be like if Klei made them
Dragonfly will probably be extremely difficult as I bet they'll have her counter OUR counters from over the years and a fast, flying boss with minions is more than all these three offer. Which is why Bee Queen will be tough as well!
I honestly don't like the idea of raid bosses being possesed, it would be cool but extremely difficult and annoying, I rather that they stick to seasonal and mini bosses

The existence of the Lunar Varg implies that a Shadow Ewecus might be coming and I'm all for that. Aesthetically at least...
Shadow Mutations will be in the Caves with Lunar ones being the Surface.

Does the ice crystalizer work against dfly, like making her easier to freeze? Understandable that she isn't as useful at this point in the game, but still. Especially if they decide to crystalizer her

Can the armored Bearger be easily enticed to commit tree-assisted-suicide like its regular counterpart? Will possessed Deerclop despawn in spring, and if not, will it be easier to fight if you wait until summer?

it pretty cool and i like wend bosses are getting stun (exsep varg) and it would be cool that possess bosse had there own weaknesses like crystal deerclops
I will say, since you have to kill the regular boss first, i like to think of these new ones as more of a late-game unlocked phase 2 than a new boss.
I mean their health does seem low compared to newer bosses, unless you add it to the original.
But they have planar defense meaning the damage they take is lower than every other boss in the game.

Was originally comparing them to celestial, but it seems like they don't have planar.... which is really weird all things considered.
It may just be me, but i find it an interesting choice that you have to heat up the new deerclops with a fire staff, making the once useless item actually very importend.
But i wonder..... does ONLY the fire staff work or do other fure relates items work, such as the fire blow darts as example?
Any fire thing works. The staff is just easiest.

Bout varg, why not lure hounds using bait, till no more spawns move varg away from hound and fight varg?
Because the hounds will eventually come back to the Varg just like they do with normal Vargs.

Do the moon frogs only spawn when you activate the lunar rift event or is it just going to be added to frog rain even before you activate it?
All of this is only after the Lunar Rifts. That's the whole point. 👍🏻

Both! They are separate from each other with the Surface and Caves!

Yup, but only Feast Clops would ever potentially become something different as the Bearger one is just a skin.

No, and besides, just turn on the settings if it doesn't work in worlds where it's already dead.

Technically most of the bosses in this game are female.
I'm disappointed in the new updates cuz they keep making things way to difficult to create mega bases, and even if you succeed in creating one what's the point if it's gonna be destroyed every couple of days? One of the worse things is the new glass shards that fall from the sky, cuz they just kill all the small mobs you've captured, this is one of the, if not THE most awful update DST has ever received... klei basically said: "your base is now destroyed without any reason and you can't do nothing about it :)"
This update is dumb... you can't play the default settings anymore without being punished for it... it's idiotic...

think about it like a terraria progression. EVERYTHING eventially gonna get hard! Game just can't be at the same state every time. You just defeated "FINAL BOSS" and you expect that nothing would change??
@@JokerThe34 DST is a survival SANDBOX game, I am not against change, I think it's cool things change, and I like some of the new things added, they make the game harder and funnier, my problem is that there already are too many things that affect mega base builders, like antlion, wildfires, frog rain(killing the small mobs), etc, the last thing I want is more of that, especially something that I can do nothing about. So again, I like some of the changes. BUT when said changes punishes base builders in a survival SANDBOX game, then it's not ok, it's like building a super mega kingdom in Minecraft and after you kill the ender dragon, your base explodes, that's just stupid, again, I'm not against change or things getting harder, I like that, but not to the point that it just feel like a punishment for playing.
