- 1890-91 was the first Scottish League season. Things have changed a bit since then so let's have a look at where the clubs from 135 years ago are now.

Cheers for the shoutout mate, great video! Keep it up
Thank you Sam
Really interesting thank you. Always interesting learning about British football's early years and the superiority of Scottish players and tactics? I remember being surprised reading a little about the Scottish ventures into the FA cup in England with teams like Queens Park etc....
love the videos mate, keep up the good work
Good stuff. I hope this channel grows a lot. Victorian football content is awesome! :D
Great video mate definitely hope you get get even more popular and get more quality scottish football videos out 👍
Very interesting! I'd love a video (or several) about the entire history of the Scottish league
good video! the information is out there, but it takes a bit of work to present it as nicely and concisely as you've done. Victorian/pre-war football fascinates me
Hearts being the only team from the East of Scotland in that first season is pretty cool.
Interesting considering the other clubs that were about at that time. No Hibs, St Bernard’s, Leith Athletic were all there in the capital.
Hibs weren't allowed in because they were Irish immigrants.
Love this sort of content. A fascinating video, but you do need to up the audio quality. Looking forward to more.
A door handle or doorknob is a handle used to open or close a door. Door handles can be found on all types of doors including exterior doors of residential and commercial buildings, internal doors, cupboard doors and vehicle doors. There are many designs of door handle, depending on the appropriate use. A large number of handles, particularly for commercial and residential doors, incorporate latching or locking mechanisms or are manufactured to fit to standardised door locking or latching mechanisms.
Thank you
Surely the club you placed second folded in 2012, and a completely new club was formed?
The stories of Aberdeen and east of Scotland football are noteworthy.
Great vid, one about the split to the spfl would be amazing 👍
Really enjoyed this. Definitely do Scottish Cup and other leagues.
Well done.
Would you ever consider doing a video on the history of hampden?
I probably could aye, there’s been what 3 Hampdens? Thank you
Nah, you have to do an episode on the Scottish cup and all the defunct teams. This Yorkshireman needs to have his football education expanded. Please and thank you. 😊❤😊
I’ll add it to the list
@@CallumBlyth Thanks 😊
If you are going to sort them by goals scored and conceded then goal average should be looked at. Also; St Mirren's previous ground was known as Love Street but was actually St Mirren Park.
I sorted them by goal difference
@@CallumBlyth I know but goal average was used for longer. Saying that...Dumbarton had a better GA than Rangers as well.
Mental how all the teams apart from Hearts are based in and around Glasgow
Live with it timmy, the SPFL exonerated rangers and they kept their name and history
nothing to do with spfl. Its the laws of the country. If an organisation is placed into administration and then bankruptcy, they must sell all assets and cannot use any name linked to the previous name for 3 years....the laws were 'stretched' a little for Rangers.
Sad story about Cowlairs not to far from where i was born
I'll never not be amazed when I think about just how *old* British professional football is. You can genuinely talk about a team and mentioning how they last had a Golden Age when *Queen Victoria* was still ruling
Interesting concept but sound is so quiet I can't hear it even on max volume:-(
Weird, it’s fine on my end on both phone and PC.
The sound is ok on my laptop. Maybe the problem is on your side.
Volume is fine bud
I think your blocked nose is clouding your judgment. Rangers rightfully earned their first trophy along with the 54 others unlike a certain team that won one through a board meeting a couple years ago.
Where are they now ? Silly question 😂😂
What about Glenbuck Cherry Pickers?
Your history of Scottish football is good but as you know Rangers folded in 2012 the same as Medowbank Airdrie, Gretna, and Clydebank before them so please use actual facts thanks.
every day's a school day
You should do some research before posting.Rangers, affectionally known as the huns,in their current form have won one title
Wrong. Same club according to ; FIFA UEFA SPFL SFA HMRC ECA companies house
Imagine basing yer look on Rolf Harris 🤪😂
Great video mate sorry for the inevitable abuse from the raging mentally ill Celtic fans
All the separate entity fans coming on to talk about rangers , I love it.
FIFA UEFA SPFL SFA HMRC ECA and the courts have all said same club. Cope and seethe. 118 trophies the most domestically successful club in Europe whether you like it or not.
Sad that you do not want to acknowledge Rangers as champions but it was a good effort otherwise.
Sorry, an interesting watch until you fecked it up.
Rangers finished joint first with Dumbarton, not "second" as you obviously couldn't help yourself.
The Championship was settled by the rules at the time, so it would be equally wrong of you to have claimed Dumbarton finished second. On the same theme, Hearts lost the 1965 title to Kilmarnock on goal average and in 1986 on goal difference. If both criteria are swapped between these two years, it would make Hearts champions, but it doesn't matter because the rules applied at the time.
It's a noticeable feature of Scottish football that there's always a snide dig to be had at Rangers, whilst there's a wee knee tremble when mentioning Celtic and you're apparently no different.
Otherwise an interesting watch.
Where were Queen's Park?
Queen’s Park refused to participate as it was seen as “being against their amateur values”, they did join the league a few seasons later though
Hibs weren’t allowed in the league due to religious sectarianism. They were told it was a league for “Scotchmen not Irishmen”
Celtc got in though. Which is telling.
the jeely eaters shed!
The 1st season it changed to 3 points for a win it would have been Celtic that won the league had it stayed at 2 .points I don't remember exactly what it was but I'm sure Celtic had 11 draws and 1 loss
Complete garbage.
1st season of 3 points for a win was 94/95 season. Celtic finished outside the top 2 for the seventh season in a row, finishing 4th with 51pts with a record of 11-18-7. Rangers finished 1st with 69 points with a record of 20-9-7.
Adjusted to the old 2 points for a win Celtic would have had 40 points and Rangers would have still won the title with 49 points.
@@adam_94 I could have sworn if it was the 2 points system we would've won there was definitely a season around that time where we had 11 draws and 1 loss
@@weepatdonnelly9093 in 95/96 Celtic finished second with 24-11-1 record (83 points) and Rangers won the league with 27-6-3 record (89points). Even that season if it was the old 2 point system, Rangers would have got 60 points and Celtic 59 points.
@@adam_94 cheers I thought we would have won the league I had a memory of that when I was a kid it was close though
If modern sorting methods were used ‘Goal difference” Rangers would be on 54 titles you say… if it were the case then Hibs win the league in 1952/53 so 53
Haven’t watched yet but my answer is they’re all dead and creepy crawleys have eaten their corpses whole by now.
Perhaps some were cremated
Rangers stated out
as Argyle for the first
29 years then change to
Western for 1 season when playing at
Burnbank Stadium in
Great Western Road
the change to
Rangers only came about
after moving to
Kinning Park whare the
first Ibrox Stadium was situated this is according to the men behind
The Founders Trail
the evidence was found
in newspapers of the time
In the Mitchell Library in
Partick.
In the beginnings of football club names where little more than place holders some stuck
like Celtic but others changed.
Though Celtic where close to being could
Clasgow Hibernian
But Brother Walfrid had the casting vote & he
picked Celtic.
John Glass the man
how built the first
Celtic Park wanted
Glasgow Hibernian.
Brother Walfrid went on
to form a Boxing Club in
Whitechapel that is still there to this day he is grave is in Sligo.
John Glass was a bilding merchant he left
The Celtic Board to form his own club not long after
Brother Walfrid was sent to Whitechapel buy the church John Glass funded his own short lived football club
Glasgow Hibernian
they simply could not match the appeal of Celtic to fans.
Wailfrid was moved on from Celtc due to his complaining about the profiteering and lack of money being given to charity. Plus playing players, like Michael Welhanan. Celtc. Cheers and a myth from the very start
Player's will never get paid one million pounds a week
They're all dead I imagine
Rangers died in 2012 and the new club have not won 55 league titles.
Wrong. Same club according to ; FIFA UEFA SPFL SFA HMRC ECA companies house
@@correctbydefault2047 but but but David fae up the road says they're a new club?? 😂
@@MarcoNegrisEye teehee 🤭
I’m fairly sure they’re dead.
If the first season had goal difference, we (Dumbarton) would have been awarded the opening season (wrote this before you mentioned it)
We also played for Renton in the centenary of the World Cup in 1988, which we won 3-2
THE SOMS - WE’RE THE ONES

SOMS?
You made a mistake in your video. Rangers have actually been folded. There is a team called Rangers who are in the SPL but they where only formed in 2012 after Rangers where folded due to going bankrupt after not paying their taxes.
Wrong and you know you are.
@@Scipionic1941 he's not though. Rangers folded because they couldn't pay their bills.
The incorporated club were liquidated.
@@JamesSmith-kw8gt Judges of the Court of Session say otherwise.
Wrong. Same club according to ; FIFA UEFA SPFL SFA HMRC ECA companies house
@@Scipionic1941 The Court of Session confirmed that it was a new club in the Charles Green and Craig Whyte trial. The court cases confirmed Rangers ceased to exist. You can't pay your bills you go bust. It's that simple.
No CVA No History as Chuckles said. ⚰️🧟
Abercorn were the Scottish Aber represent, instead of the dons. 😊
Correction: Rangers - Folded. (in 2012)

The least competitive league in the history of world football.
Celtic RIP 94/95
OLD celdic althetico , had criminal charges
New co. Celdic changedtheir:
Badge
Name
Strip
Stadium
Also
Had to be voted back in to the top flight premiere league
In which Sir David Murray said to all the lower teams in Scotland "too keep celdic in the leagues as it would be more financial to half both half's of the old firm coming to their grounds in a season "
Rangers saved celdic 😂
You lot should know you're history
Celdic 1880(something) to 1995

Even newspaper pics on line of a funeral at parkhead with the title R.I.P PARKHEAD .

Celtic paid all the bills abd were saved.
Rangers bumped everyone and were liquidated. ⚰️

Change your badge from the priest cross to the four cleaf

Research it ,
There was even a vote to keep Celtic in the top tier , sir David Murray stood up and save you playing in the lower leagues
Tough break but Rangers saved you .
You started after rangers
You didnt last long enough than rangers
You haven't won as much trophies than Rangers .

Why did you tell a blatant lie?
