As someone who never actually got around to finishing the original game, would canon of creation be worth it to play first or should I just jump right to canon of vengeance?
Chose my lvl 99 Zeus, Odin and Danu for my 3 returning demons from my vanilla SMT V playthrough. Gg wp. Easy game.
I read a comment somewhere that I needed to play Creation before Vengeance for the story to make sense. Kinda regretting that decision now 40 hours in...

I will always recommend to play the inferior one if you plan to experience everything l. Like octopath series, I’d say play the original first because once you play the better octopath 2 you’ll miss all the quality improvements that are not present in the original.
Your right, after I played Octopath 2 I couldn’t go back to finish Octopath 1
I still have a physical copy of the original so I might just go finish that game. SMT V Vengeance is on it's way so I'll pick the Vengeance path when I get it.

sooo Spoilers but:
It seems like there are demons you can only get by completing both sides of the game, and a few that require every ending, so for every demon the grind looks like 6 total playthroughs, Though if you're a smt vet you likely know this isnt uncommon for SMT and new game plus can be made super easy for just getting endings
Im just gonna do vengeance then do creation i never played SMT V but i want experience all the new stuff.
Does anyone know if you start with Canon of Creation can you do new game plus in Canon of Vengeance? Or will it just be new game plus in Canon of Creation again?

iv never played smtV but id like to just start Vengeance route but i also want to unlock the godborn difficulty beceause i love playing games on the hardest difficulties but that seems to need canon of creation route first and new game plus Vengeance and i feel that would just ruin the difficulty on Vengeance and make it just too easy
Unless I'm mistaken I don't think you need to do cannon of creaton yo get NG+
@@purplatypus7405 yeah but to unlock godborn difficulty the guide said needed to do cannon of creation true ending and do new game plus on Vengeance to fight secret super boss that unlocks the difficulty

If you never played SMT5 I would go the canon of creation to see what SMT 5 ended up being AND it runs/plays better on other systems. Canon vengeance is a new story and probably made for us who already finished SMT5 to make us buy the game AGAIN at FULL PRICE - this is a pretty big deal this what Purplatypus made a video of because... f those people saying its a 40 hour game, it took people like me who actually did the side quest and explorations 80+ hours. not joking. this is like saying ff7 rebirth is 40 hours, no its not, its 80-100 if you actually do side content, and explore the world which MOST people will do. So yeah, this is a big choice. Only reason to go canon vengeance your first time playing SMT5 is because you and your friends who already finished SMT5 (... gonna assume you have some) can play through it at the same time and talk about it meanwhile. I get that feeling- to share the experience and what you found/miss etc.
I think 95% plus should do Vengeance. Likely a better story with more updated mechanics.
