The reason why Butcher is a serious threat, is because most of the Supes' only combat experience is fake choreography. Where as Butcher has actual experience, and is blindly obsessed with killing them.

He knows how to fight, it's just that his actual power and skill varies dramatically between writers, as well as what the plot requires at any given moment.

Butcher got really lucky with what powers he got. Imagine Temp-V gave the ability of something like writing very good jingle songs.
Butcher hates homelander and got his powers and knows combat hughie hates the speedster and can teleport thus being faster than a speedster. Each got what they needed to beat their hated foe. It's like V gives you what you want when you have a soul eating desire but kids don't have those so it's picking up on some random impuls

If Butcher learned how to fully control his powers, he’d become a force to be reckoned with. He also has actual fight experience from SAS and other stuff unlike other Supes who have little training

This one scene encapsulates exactly why butcher and Homelander are two sides of the same coin. Homelander often kills without remorse, but does so out of impulse. Butcher on the other hand instead, kills out of necessity without remorse. Regardless, they both have showcased mercilessly ending the lives of people, deep down just to satisfy their own violent, hateful urges.

Temp V makes you bullet proof but doesnt increase your weight it seems so supes can still be pushed around like normal (weve seen this multiple times) unless they actively push against the force with their super strength, Butcher wasnt used to having super strength at this point so when the bullets hit him he instinctively recoiled back
the part where Gunpowder submits and even still denies being touched by Solider Boy made me so sad for some reason. its like how real victims of abuse deny and protect their abusers not to get too "Uhmmm this is actually super deep and interesting" 🤓☝

He took an experimental dose of compound V to give himself powers temporarily. It's highly radioactive and dangerous, in Butchers case it gave him abilities similar to homelander which is supremely ironic.

It's temporal so you need to re-use it every time. But it also dangerous and literally can give you something like cancer and depends on times how often you use it, it can kill you faster. Season 4 literally show us what's Temporal V does to mf and how are results of using that shit. Don't want to spoil, you just need to see that.

original comics were very violent, more violent than this in some cases. would have been impossible to make the comics into a show without having at least three quarters of the violence
