One of my Cousins has a 9 year old great grand daughter that she brings when she visits me.
While checking my cousin's mini vans fluids and tire pressure the little girl wanted to help. I have a trigger tire pressure gauge filler, and I showed her on the door jam the recommend pressure and how the gauge worked. She checked and filled all 4 tires, then I mentioned the spare under the back. She wiggled underneath, check the spare, said it showed zero pounds, then aired it up to 32 psi.
Whenever my cousin visits, the little girl checks & fills the tires like a pro.

I appreciate that you actually compensated for the water already in the system and made the adjustment in your concentration. I've seen a lot of know-it-all youtubers not do that and just pour 50/50 in there. In my old 1st gen RAV it's super easy because the entire coolant capacity is 8 liters/ 2.11 gallons so after flushing with water, I can pour a gallon of concentrated antifreeze in directly and top off the rest with water and it'll be almost 50/50 automatically which in in the south is plenty.

I've been using this funnel on all of my vehicles for decades on almost all of my vehicles. It works! It comes in a kit with different adapters for different reservoirs and radiators., but they aren't compatible with a few of them.
Instead of flushing, I drain & fill @ 30K mile intervals which keeps my coolant relatively fresh on my Honda cars & SUV's. I can remove the reservoir fill cap while leaving the radiator cap closed and drain the radiator. This pulls the coolant out of the reservoir. Then I proceed after filling the reservoir, replacing the cap and using the funnel in the radiator.
    Very easy to do.

Since I planned on renewing the thermostat in my 2006 Sienna , I removed it and buttoned up the housing and ran the engine for a few minutes then drained the distilled water. I repeated till it ran clear . I believe I did this three times. To remove residual water from the system I removed the heater Ts ( I renewed those as well) and attached a wet vacuum to all hoses and vacuum as much as I could out of the system. I removed almost 3/4 gallon of residual water this way. Note:There isn't a hot coolant valve in my Sienna. I refilled with the premixed 50/50 HOAT pink coolant ( from the manual).

You need a helluva lot more subs than you have currently. I've used your videos for actual use a couple of times now and Im happy to have been able to not so much save money, but moreso that I think everyone feels better about themselves when they can do these things on their own.

    I enjoyed the tutorial.
Although, I have not done the drain on the new Toyota I bought. So, I took to CZcams to refresh my mind. I thought wow a lot of info. You are more thorough than I have ever been.
Another note. You resemble my cousin , she does not have the goth look. Your emotions and movements are spot on as my cousin.
    Once again enjoyed your video.

I learned how to change my coolant and had my faith restored that the perfect woman actually does exists all in the same video! 🤯🤯🤯

That generation of the 4Runner is very reliable. I have 397k miles on mines right now. The original clutch was finally replaced back at 330k miles. The original starter lasted until about 240k and the original alternator lasted to about 260k miles. Even the original rear brake shoes lasted until 300k miles. It has never let me down. Traveled a lot around the Western Region of the US. I live in the SF Bay Area.

I've had multiple vehicles and never understood the function of the coolant overflow tank on a Tacoma (Hilux in my country). Mine is a '05 model and has over 200K on the odometer. To this day I've never required any coolant top-ups between service intervals and have never had any coolant in the overflow tank. Our average summer temperatures are 78°F so to me that rules out 'hot' climates having any effect. Seems like an over-engineered feature to me at this point but admit that each engine differs and can behave differently, even on the same models...
PS. this is the 1st video of yours I have watched because I accidentally stumbled across it and I think it is wonderful how you bust stereotypes (I am guilty of this) in a male dominated field - your videos are on par with the top content creators out there. Keep being awesome!

Hi Faye, great thorough video, i work in a Toyota dealer and we haven't got time to do such a thorough job, quick drain and refill the radiator. Customers would never pay hours and hours at $100 an hour. Cheers Rob from England

Faye, keep up the good work! As a fellow mechanic, I admired how happy you were to change antifreeze. I have seen the thumbs-down and some of the criticism in the comments. I'm not going to be one of those! I only have two videos out right now. I only did it because several of my friends ask me about questions about certain type of problems and when the opportunity arose I went ahead and recorded. I'm the only mechanic here at the dealership. I don't usually have time to record. I just wanted to take a moment and say hey I see you and great job...😊😊😊
