It's way too easy now to let the internet be a part of every aspect of our lives. This was starting to have a really negative effect on me, so I decided to do something about it.

I don't know if someone will read this, but I just wanted to say that life seems often feels like a simulation, because of the coincidence, which happen. I personally have a CZcams addicten(which I am dealing with right now) and therefore I feel how youtube and indirectly the internet takes over my life and holding me back from my potential. Most recently I am also reading the book of the daily stoic to find a better direction, and for some odd reason this is also mentioned in this video😂. I have begun most of these practices myself but have recently fallen off my regimen being out on disability. I've been wanting to start a flip phone movement for months now, more immediately within my own household, but I can't get anyone in my family on board with. However, our environment is designed to keep us distracted having cell towers now supporting only 4G phones making it nearly impossible to connect a phone call inside of a building or within your home. You must go outside. But being outside isn't so bad now that I think about it😁 Anyway, cell phones were initially intended for the same reason the telephones were. Then they had to get "smart" on us. Here's another quote for you; "The only argument with someone who complains that there's never enough time in a day is that everyone has 24 hours in a day." Thank you for the video in reminding us to be more mindful of how we spend our time.

We are overwhelmed by so many sensations in today's world.
Internet is just one of them, maybe the biggest, but so.
It's just very hard to hold mind calm, when distraction comes from every side.
In myself, I had a problem with youtube and pornography addiction, either of problems equally bad.
Fortunately, I've taken myself from that swamp by surpassing a zone of comfort more and more, by actions like: cold showers, running, and meditation definitely have helped.

We have to makes sure it serves us as a source of information and not a distraction to satisfy our boredom.
Boredom and restlessness is a consequence of lacking purpose, a sense of where the life is headed.

This topic reminds me of the book, “In the Absense of the Sacred” by Jerry Mander A more in depth look at Technology and how it can affect us. He used to work in Network TV advertising. He wrote the book, Four Arguments for Elimination of the Television.

I've been feeling extremely overwhelmed and behind with my replies. This is very helpful advice. I'm going to designate a day to replying to everything that way I can look up from my phone while I'm eating. Thank you for this lifesaver!

I like the not checking in bed or in the bathroom, I’m going to try that. The food thing...if it’s something I took time to cook, I’m definitely not doing anything but eating, but if it’s fast food or cereal or whatever I listen to podcasts or watch CZcams.
