  • Had lots of fun exploring Turkey Bay with Gary this spring. Had to pull out my newly installed winch in a few places. Can't wait to go back!

Looks about the same place I had to winch. The wrangle that went first laid on its side but it looks like it’s been smoothed out since then.

I thought you were going over for sure on that second winch.

Barely considered a hole a small gap “it’s nothing “ lol

I honestly thought it was just a pothole when the front dropped in....the the rear followed!

Where?!???!! In my defense, it was on the blind side so i just turned along the bottom of the valley and the front dipped in, though it was just a pothole or something....then the back dropped in and i couldn't move any more...lol

The classic oh shit scenario, but, knowing what to do in a classic oh shit scenario usually mitigates the impact, you got out, minimal impact. Wheel on! Cheers amigo

Such a great place to put the tire.all my gear fits under with the tire no problem.and how would you even end up in that ditch?

It was on my blind side on the inside of the turn, and when i got to the turn i wasn't looking for it (may have been looking at the map too, 🤷). When my front dropped in i thought it was a pothole, then my rear dropped in and i was stuck.
Yeah, having the tire side mounted on the back i made a skinnier floor board, 90% of my trail gear fits under the floor.

@@FearlessTrailhawk all that matters is nothing was damaged.we’re going to Arkansas beginning of February to do the snake and maybe rubicon ridge.

Were you manually shifting the Cherokee up the hill or were you letting the Jeep shift on it's own? We've had issues like that in our Toyota Tacoma and the only way to not have the vehicle "nanny" you is to manually control the shifts. Just a thought since it happens to us all the time in sand.

Low traction climbs i usually have it in manual first, occasionally 2nd if the speed is a little higher. But even then it will still upshift on its own sometimes, but that was not the case for this climb.
