    It doesn't work on M1 / Monterey. The message "the action could not be completed because you do not have the required access rights" still pops up and permissions can't be changed for certain (possibly system-owned-) files.

    As comments below - I am doing everything accordingly, but with no luck.

    It doesn't work. I'm still unable to change the Privilege rules after disabling the csrutil. I can't change anything, nore add or remove accounts.
    It's strange because even before this I have my user with both Read& Write privilege, but it sais "You can only read".

    • @joseph-israel
      @joseph-israel  Před rokem +1

      I'm curious 🤔 whether you've missed something. Re Enter recovery mode and tell me what you see with this command : "csrutil status"
      Now you also want to right click on the file/folder and click get info. Afterwards click to unlock the lock icon in the bottom right of the "get info windows". Select the user and assign the permission and try again.

      I have multiple 8 and 12 TB HDD's for our youtube channel, unfortunately, I just ran into the same problem. I then realized that on the latest two drives that I purchased, I forgot to format them with OS extended from the windows NTFS. I couldn't open my libraries after running Clean My Mac (that I just installed). The only thing I found as a fix was to get another drive and format it with OS Extended. This now allowed me to move my videos from the NTFS to the OS Extended and Now I can use FCPX again. This is expensive yes, but I didn't lose my files. Note: I also have RW permissions again on the new drive.

      The command works just does not allow permission changes on my end. I check with the code above and seems your tutorial works but the command does not fully allow for changing of these permissions. Why idk and should not be this way. Should be simple to make changes on your own personal computer.
