I am a Keralite , the state is not rich it is a debt-ridden state where government is struggling to pay off the salaries of government employees. Of course people are rich because since they are aware of the fact that job prospects are less in the state, they take education seriously and will migrate to foreign countries for job. So people are financially very sound and hence that can be reflected in other areas of health and education. But that's not something to be proud of.

Being a Keralite, some demerits. High inflation, we are paying electricity bills twice the amount of that of Tamil Nadu. Also Petrol price is high in Kerala compared to all other states bcz of the high VAT. Also water tax, property tax and building tax has been raised.

Even a century back the Kingdom of Travencore was considered prosperous - no wonder why you find a treasure worth $20 billion in Padmanabha Swami temple. Spice trade made Kozhikode one of the busiest trade centres of mediaeval world. Probably the rich natural resources - good soil and water played a major role.
Having said that we have to remember prosperity in ancient times was a lot different than what we mean by prosperity today. May be the king was rich and people may have been poor. Anyways the extraordinary high population density across the state may be an indication that this place attracted more people over the years

Sir ji it's very easy to tell these internet points, just visit out here personally and go in a area where many people are there and ask them something out in Hindi or question the problems of Kerala, they're so short tempered, you cant even expect. Even some asked me about my surname caste meaning in hindi ,but i dont answered them back as i know very well by revealing my caste in Hindi, i will put myself in graveyard. Population is less over there due to unemployment, only business people maximum work out there and the people have healthy life due to the environment over there, and even at some shops beefs were also on the menu list for the dish purpose. What type of people call this state as a God state, and if this is a god state then i am fucking atheist.
