Reciprocating sander / DIY

  • Since one day, I've been getting tired of the tools I use on a daily basis.
    Even sawing may be paying off the efforts of brands that have made them use band saws, jigsaw, and cut saws.
    It's true that the annoyance and the desire for improvement that we feel when we do repetitive work have created and developed a lot of inventions.
    I got tired of sanding wood on sandpaper.
    With the touch of an experienced craftsman, it is of course important to grab the wood and rub it against the sandpaper to match the desired fine angle and size. It's also the delicate art of carpentry.
    But sanding repeatedly is not a very pleasant task.
    Alternative tools have also been developed. A swivel sander or belt sanding machine is an example.
    I made a device that can automatically sandpaper.
    The wood is fixed, and the sandpaper is made to do a reciprocating motion.
    It was designed and assembled so that it could be like moving by hand.
    We've been sanding trees with our hands, and it's a device that allows trees to stay still and sandpaper to make a round trip.
    There are many structures that can do reciprocating motion, but I specifically used circular gears and flat gears to make them that can turn rotational force into reciprocating motion.
    By controlling the speed of the motor, the sandpaper can be controlled at the speed of the round trip,
    The sandpaper was attached to a flat magnet to allow it to be replaced so that it could stick to the bottom surface of the metal ruler.
    And I made a jaw on all sides of the floor of the moving sandpaper so that it could act as a guide bar to hold the wood.

    Great thinking. I have been flattening small items for 15 years standing by a 6x48 belt sander. I could have been setting by your sander doing the second operation while your machine did the first. Great thinking.

    Verynice, just wish you would have made the enclosure out of acrylic!

    • @Kynosys_
      @Kynosys_  Před rokem

      That's a sharp point. I also tried to make an outer case with acrylic so that the inside could be seen, but I thought it would create a lot of dust during sanding, so I just made it out of wood. Thank you for your words.

    Love your hand weights. Are they filled with sand or cement? Do you really have all those parts on hand, or do you source them, put them in a drawer, and then film taking them out of the drawer to make the video better? ;)

    • @Kynosys_
      @Kynosys_  Před rokem

      I get misunderstood sometimes. I have over 1,000 drawers full of parts. My goal is to use all of these parts that I have collected over 10 years. There are a lot of people who are curious, so I'll have to take a video of the parts someday. thank you!

      That's an accurate point. There may be limitations in practical use and utilization. However, there are many things to be gained in the process of these works. We can hone our skills, and also taste the joy of our designs and ideas being realized. Many people enjoy watching the process on video. Besides, I enjoy all these situations. thank you!

    Brilliant! Thanks for sharing 🙂 the only feedback I have is I would not use that connector, but rather a standard iec320 for the power. But you are probably better at not misplacing cables than me 😅

    • @Kynosys_
      @Kynosys_  Před rokem

      The shapes of connectors vary greatly by region. I like this connector. A video of unifying all the wired tools I have with this connector will be uploaded soon. Thank you very much for your kind words. Let's go on a trip to the world of DIY with me.

      @@Kynosys_ Oh, didn't think about that, I love the connector you use, but didn't know it handles AC well. I have only used it for 12VDC myself. :) I am probably only a bit biased towards the other connector because I have amassed an unhealthy amount of spares over the years :-P

      When I work, I don't actually draw detailed drawings. By the way, many people have talked about it, so I'm thinking of making a precision blueprint and posting it on my homepage. I plan to reorganize www.kynosys.com soon. thank you

    Интересно на сколько долговечная эта игрушка?

    • @Kynosys_
      @Kynosys_  Před rokem +1

      На основе подробных чертежей существуют изделия, изготовленные на станках с ЧПУ с использованием стальных или алюминиевых материалов. Вы говорите, что эти продукты не игрушки? Истинный дух DIY заключается в том, чтобы наслаждаться процессом изготовления. И менее чем за неделю, Долговечность, которую вы цените, еще не доказана. Когда у меня будет возможность, я дам вам знать позже.
      Based on detailed drawings, there are products made by CNC using steel or aluminum materials. Are you saying those products aren't toys? The true spirit of DIY is to enjoy the process of making. And, in less than a week, The durability you value is still unproven. When I get a chance, I'll let you know later.
