Good work.
Thanks
Thank you!!

Lets say i have a tarp under my tall deck, giving me a covered area to store things. Would a bell siphon work for automatically emptying said tarp? I can't tell if this would work for my application
Great video only thing I suggest is to cut lines instead of drilling holes to stop media balls from getting stuck in the holes and stopping water flow
👍 true thanks
Nice video, thanks.
Welcome. ❤️
@@DIYGARDENWITHBB I did it today ;-)

Thank you.
@@DIYGARDENWITHBB You're welcome, mate.
I think I understand the concept, but in the video the siphon only fully drains with the pump off. Shouldn't the full drain occur even with the pump running? If so, then wouldn't it be important to not overpower your full siphon drain with too large of a pump? Or, am I wrong and you need to turn the pump off/on with a timer? Thanks for sharing
Hi there !
It's auto bell siphon no need to use timer .
The grow beds will fully flood and drain automatically and the pump running .
To understand better check this video

@@DIYGARDENWITHBB thank you for the reply
If the rate that the water is pumped into the grow bed is the same as the rate that the siphon drains the grow bed, will the grow bed ever be fully drained?
ok but can you make the water that is drawn go up higher than the level where the water is being drawn out? I'm wondering if this could be used to create a continuous loop water feature for a small waterfall for passively aerating a small pond.
that is perpetual motion machine and its not possible
The water should flow in LESS than water going out. So you had to change the water pump's pipe to smaller size to give enough time which the water inside the bed to flow out. I have tried you method, it only works like that ( pipe going in should half(size) than pipe going out(at least 2x size of pipe going in).
It looks good. I will study it very closely, especially your very last part. It ended too quickly. Don’t remember your listing your parts or sizes.would it work wit h smaller pvc pipe? Thank you!
the PVC pipe sizes depending on your grow bed , use the same sizes I used.
Very Informative.... Good Video. Just a question, Do we really require separate filter other than the Fish Tank and Grow bed.....? Would Fish Tank Filter Suffice?
yes we need separate filter , you can check my video how to make aquaponic system : czcams.com/video/Pmg5pL9LMcg/video.html
May I know do we need to glue the pipe and the fitting together? Thanks.
Hi there!
No need to glue just insert well..
@@DIYGARDENWITHBB Thank you so much, wish you and family stay healthy always!
Thanks ❤️ same to you.
Thanks for the nice tutorial ;)
Can you tell me what kind of pump you are using and how many litres/hour it is running?
you can check this video I explained about the pump go to min 12

@@DIYGARDENWITHBB Thanks for the quick reply.
I have used a 40 mm pipe.
I did a test in my bath and there it went perfectly with my bath tap fully open.
I think my pumps are too slow for a 40mm pipe the fastest was 400l/h.
Had another question can elbow be under water in the reservoir?
Nice work! I have a question. If the water pump were to die at max water level, or just before the max water level before it started to enter the drainage pipe would that mean that the water would be stuck in there until the pump is replaced?
Hi there !
Yes the water will be there till more water come . If that happens and you want to drain your grow bed just add water .
Check this video... I have made a Bell siphon and show how it works..

@@DIYGARDENWITHBB Thanks for the reply I will watch this video. Would we be able to overcome this problem if the pump was sealed from the bottom making the water intake come from underneath - so that gravity would cause the water to run back down through the tubing/pump back into the reservoir?
can the water go upward, higher than the reservoir?
hi there !
You can control the water level in the reservoir .
check this video I explained about the bell siphon.
czcams.com/video/EOjPeUwbR3g/video.html
Will the bell inside it float when water is added???
no the Bell will be stand...
Is there a way to do this without the pump?
no way 🥺
i would really like to meet you for once
Thnx welcome
Clarify lang po, when draining water, kailangan bang may control para e drain ang water or automatic na mag drain?
Can we place the bell siphon only at the centre or not?
you can place it anywhere you want.
Hi, why a bell siphon is needed? and what is the benefit? Thx
Hi there!
Bell siphon needed because you need to Flood and Drain Your Media Beds
Why Flood and Drain Your Media Beds? the benefit :
your plant roots need water and nutrients, but they also need oxygen. When you flood your media bed-fill the bed with water-the nutrient-rich water from your fish tank bathes the roots and your rocks. But if you leave your plant roots constantly submerged in water, they will attempt to adapt, and that effort takes energy away from food production.
Growing Options When you drain your media bed-suck out the water-air will rush into the spaces between the rocks in your grow bed. Air is 21 percent oxygen, and that oxygen will dissolve in the water remaining on the surfaces of the rocks and roots and can be absorbed by the living things in your grow bed. These will include your plant roots and the bacteria that convert ammonia into nitrate. This could also include worms, if you added them to your system.
@@DIYGARDENWITHBB Reallllly appreciate !!!!! learn a lot
You are welcome .here the aquaponics system I made

What kind of pump did you use
Hi there!
I use submersible water pump 45 W , depends on your grow bed and fish tank size.
Hi there!

How do I know what pump I need for my fish tank and grow bed size
Did you purchase everything on HomeDepot ?
I purchased from the local hardware store.
What's the function of bell
Hi there !
flood and drain the grow beds.
If your siphon is playing up try a weight on top of the bell
Yes true ... Check this video I used 3 " pvc pipe.
czcams.com/video/EpKVF4kLMsk/video.html
Don't turn off the pump we'll see if the water level goes up again
Isn't was suppose to be automatic draining? selfdrain? why do you need to manualy drain?
it's automatic, and worked great..when i used a slow flow water pressure.
Water always drain from outlet not discontinued
right? so he need to turn off the pump for it to drain completely and turn on again? any solutions for this problem?
This is not bell siphone, this just water control
This system won’t work.
Your supply needs to have less volume than your return.
None of these pipes are rated potable just for the record

. . . c'mon - we all know how to use a saw and a drill, there is no need to show this excessively - youl'd better explain what and why you are doing, what is important and how the thing works . . .
