- An excellent afternoon spent at Stoke on Trent on the West Coast Mainline where we see plenty of services from Virgin Trains, London Midland, Northern, East Midlands Trains and Cross Country.
I really enjoyed my time here and due to my own stupidity by dropping my tablet it means that I had to film 2 parts here which didn't bother me in he slightest. I love the old station canopy as it just amplifies the sound of the trains arriving and departing. My next station is Stafford which will be filmed in 3 parts.
You can now find me on Facebook through the group Tornado922, there you will find regular updates, photos and videos from all of my goings on throughout 2016
Brilliant video mate the station was covered very well
thanks very much mate
gorgeous picture for me?! at 17.00 lol love that picture. Very nice station thanks
I did aim that in your direction ;)
***** Thanks and also for yourself lol
+Tornado922 u been to the south east until
Happy memories of this station as a child going to blackpool, theres a disused line behind the station that goes to Leek, staffs, we used to walk along that all the time lol
I will have to come back here later in the year as this was a great station to come to
Top notch yet again. 153's for me. I don't know why, maybe it's because, being a single car, they are something different.
thanks very much :) yeah the 153 is different and it does work in some cases
I don’t like the 153
@@madtrainspottermacrae6744 150s and 156s are better than the 153s
156 for me, theyre very comfortable and look smart in all the liveries they come in
4:40
Jarred: "I'll give you three guesses where it's come from"
Me: "London Euston?"
Jarred: "No"
Me: "Oh! Uh... Birmingham New Street?"
Jarred: "No... try again!"
Me: "What? Hmm... Watford Junction!"
Jarred: "There you go! London Euston!"
Me: "CRAP!!!"
:D
hahahaha, I don't know why I did it but it kept me entertained lol
This is Avanti west coast
Great video. I like the 156's as they are spacious, comfortable and quite a smooth ride. I rode on Northern's 156444 between Middlesbrough to Whitby via Esk Valley Railway. Not even the bumpiness of the track could have the effects of ride quality. Plus, Northern had refurbished some of the 156 units with digital destination display boards, complete refurbishment of the interior and an on board passenger information screen. The 153's on my opinion is okay but with just a singe carriage, it can be awfully crammed during rush hour for instance. Nevertheless, the class 153 and 156 is a dam side better than compared to the rotten pacers :-)
tsangpogorge Well hard to say. The pacers have the most uncomfortable ride as they just bounce. The class 153 is a single carriage from a sprinter unit so the 153 is a good sprinter. Ideal for branch line duties but for mainline, 153's need to be paired up in rush hour situation for example :-)
at Swindon today there was a class 45 being pulled by a GBRF class 66
That's probably being moved to a heritage line for a gala I suspect
156 because the interior seems nicer and can hold more people! Great video by the way
Thanks very much I'm glad you enjoyed it
Fantastic Video I like Stoke on Trent
my train crosscountry service is 220020
I Hope your tablet never smashed. Hope it is still in good use. Brilliant Video
It didn't smash thankfully so I can continue to use it
Great video Jarred and yes I agree I prefer the 156s too. They do look much nicer and like you say have better functionality with the two cars as opposed to the 153
Thanks very much for saying so I'm glad you enjoyed watching this, I don't mind the 153's I think they are brilliant but when it comes to running in between 2 busy stations it would make sense to have a train working those services that would have the capacity to handle a large volume of people, so it could work with a pair of 153's instead of just the one
Great video there young sir. To answer your question on the Sprinter situation the only sprinters I prefer are the Express sprinters namely the 158 and 159. I absolutely despise the 156.
Thank you very much for saying so I'm glad you enjoyed watching this :) I have to admit the 158/9 are very comfortable units and fairly quiet when your inside one
Well then, that ending was abrupt haha. Great video bud and can I point out 3 things.
1. I prefer 153's to 156's purely because the liveries with companies seem to suit them more and because their interiors are brilliant.
2. I would like the idea of a loco hauled London Midland service but if they couldn't afford doing it then maybe a double headed 350 would suffice.
3. Teignmouth is pronounced (tin-mouth) 😄
KTV Videos sorry to say but I think 158s are better than 153s in the EMT livery cuz they are much comfortable to travel on you only have to travel like 1hr on them and then you bum starts to get a little num so thats why I prefer the 158s
#KTVVideos in the chat.
I do love the 156. I wonder what ever happened to the 155. The 2 car original of the 153. They seemed to have a bit of room.
maybe they just weren't in demand
I definitely prefer the 156's for the same reason - great vido ad nice camera work
Thanks very much for saying so, I too prefer the 156 really
Great video
Thanks very much :)
Fantastic Video :)
Thanks very much
I subbed and liked, using your videos to see what the stations are like as I’m travelling home from Uni. Thanks
Thank you kindly for liking and subscribing to my channel. I hope you enjoy the rest of my content :)
The sneaky crosscountry might have come from Bournemouth but it was a super voyager so maybe not as usually the normal voyagers run the route to Bournemouth from Manchester
It came from Paignton.
www.crosscountrytrains.co.uk/media/405998/manchester_to_the_south_west_and_south_coast_pdf.pdf (p.32)
+KasabianFan44 Thanks
The Golden Eagle No problem :-)
actually The Golden Eagle super voyages often runs the Bournemouth to Manchester picc run. I know I live near Bournemouth and travel to Bournemouth most holidays and weekends!!
The seats in the 153 and 156 look like bus seats
I truely think Pendolino's would look splendid in XC livery.
I have to agree with you
Great video! Looking forward to seeing 60103 today!
I can't wait till I can see her
***** She was 22 minutes late at Shalford, but still magical! Where are you planning on seeing her?
+00MentoFan well whenever I can in all honesty
***** lol
+Tornado922 she is going to the Severn Valley railway from the 22nd to the 25th of September for the gala there.
London Midland class 90 sounds interesting
It would be good to see
wen will u be doing Manchester airport
I must admit I completely forgot about going there. I'll get round to it as soon as I get the opportunity
Can you do trains at Skipton please
I will see what I can do for you
9:45
I think I have been there
I prefer the 156 because I've been on a single carriage train whilst packed and trust me when you're standing up its not fun 😂 to have one carriage is ridiculous also the 156s feel more comfortable
or at least seem it
for routes such as this I would have always though that the 156 would have been the better option
I say the 158 as they have more space and more newer then the 156
I would have to agree with you there
16:55 Train: Really?
Lovely film, like from me
Thanks very much :)
+Tornado922 cant wait until u go to new st
I have never been on a train yet
Really?
+Tornado922 nice vid could you go to walkden or daisy hill on the southpor to kirkby to manchester line?
maybe one day but not yet as I have quite a few stations that I wish to get through
Why do the voyagers always seem to "rev up" before they depart, is it something to do with the reverser, or gearing?
Also I reckon the class 222's could look smart in London Midland livery.
Reverser makes that sound
Im from stoke-on-trent originally, the place gets a bad rep but its not that bad.
I rather liked my stay here
Great video and have you ever filmed at Alsager and Macclesfield before?👍😃
Thanks very much, no I've never filmed at those stations before
"half hour to crewe" the issue is capacity! thats why alliance rail had trouble till recently they were accepted because of the new track at Norton Bridge.. capacity is high on WCML and Rugby (brinklow jc) is still a bottleneck
I can appreciate the capacity issues faced along the West Coast Mainline, the most affected sections of line are between Milton Keynes and London, especially seeing as Southern have services every 30 minutes. But if capacity weren't an issue I would definitely put the idea forward to them. Although I wasn't aware Alliance Rail had any issues lately
they got refused because of capacity... you see because i was in contact with Alliance Rail i got to see (it is available on the web) the objections VT were acting like children especially during the objection you should of seen it it made me angry... another thing VT didn't pay for alot of the pendos the DFT did so mr branson got richer whilst WE the taxpayer ended up paying for the trains... Alliance will pay millions of their own funds to buy baby pendolino's running the trent valley line
Buddy Theman ah right well I can safely say I never knew that. Thank you for clearing that up
we should meet up one day :)
153 is my favourite - the first model of the 156 kinda lost me my interest in them (the model was **)
I like 156s cuz more cars more passengers for me
Fair enough
what station is after Stafford
Stoke on Trent but there might be other ones in between, also the route to Crewe, Chester and wilmslow diverts off at stafford
+The Golden Eagle I think he meant video wise. What is the next place he will be filming at after Stafford.
+HyperVenomProduction Oh ok
+The Golden Eagle I'll be filming at Penkridge after Stafford
Tornado are you going to the Crewe open day on the 23rd of July
I can't say with any certainty at the moment
I prefer the 156s
I think 153 is better. How can a wheelchair get on a train. The wheelchair is the one what can use myself like a muual wheelchair
+Tornado922 ok
156 is much better
That seems to be a very popular opinion so far
