CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Brad (Ben Gazzara) gets even with Stroudenmire (Jon Paul Jones) by driving a monster truck over his lot of cars.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Love, treachery, and broken furniture are the hallmarks of this rollicking action drama. Dalton (Patrick Swayze) has a Ph.D., but rather than make a living teaching Socrates at some university, he's opted to become a top-drawer "cooler" -- an expert barroom bouncer who can break up fights without getting himself killed in the process. Dalton is hired to keep the peace at the Double Duce, a rough-and-tumble honky tonk in Jasper, Missouri, where beer-soaked free-for-alls are a nightly event. Dalton is hurt on his first night on the job, and he is patched up by "Doc" Clay (Kelly Lynch), a beautiful woman working as the town's physician. Dalton and Doc immediately hit it off, but Dalton learns that another man, Brad Wesley (Ben Gazzara), already has his eye on her. Wesley is a man used to getting his way; he's an extortionist and crime boss who has nearly everyone in Jasper under his thumb, and he sets out to teach Dalton a lesson, while Dalton is determined to clean up the town like he breaks up brawls at the Double Duce. Sam Elliott plays Dalton's mentor Wade, and Red West, a one-time member of Elvis Presley's "Memphis Mafia," appears as Webster; Canadian blues-rock guitarist Jeff Healey leads the Double Duce house band.

Nothing is more 80s than a showroom full of station wagons. hehe I remember riding cross country in the back of one of those things. A few blankets, a few toys, no seatbelt, and no problems.
0:55. This movie was set in Jasper, MO but you can clearly see the Los Angeles freeway sign in the background
I cried when that pearl white crown Victoria LTD wagon was crushed.
Ben Gazzara was awesome as the villainous Brad Wesley here.
I cried when BIGFOOT 7 was stolen
The monster truck
I love that shot of Wesley and his men laughing at 0:34 - it looks really candid, as if Ben Gazzara and the cast are genuinely laughing at the larger than life nature of what is being filmed!
the crazy part is that the towns people are cheering for Wesley!!!
The mafia couldn't tolerate Wesley...Ben barraza actor. Played the villain well....some actors no one ,reluctantly wants to be typecast ad the villain yet should be paid more because viewers remember and often times cannot seperate acting and realty!
I wonder if they knew this was a “so bad it’s great” movie when they were shooting it.
After the stunt, Sam Eliot walked up to Bob Chandler "Bigfoot's owner" and Jim Karner "the driver" and said "That was FuXXING Awesome!!"
Link shows the Bigfoot truck scene being filmed
Gary laughing maniacally as he rolls up the window always make me smile.
Always wondered if Brad Wesley would of tried extortion with a Caterpillar dealer?, Might of had a visitor at his house some night with a 994 wheel loader
What kind of car 🚗 dealership is this? All he has are late model cars, mostly station wagons.,Am I missing something 😮😮😮!!
That truck is now parked here in Orlando at Fun Spot park. Different tires now (bigger), but the same truck.
JeevesReturns if it was my truck, I would’ve never changed it to just a display truck that can’t even drive under its own power.
Bigfoot 5 tires
+
@@yeahsuremah No. smaller
The old tires are now safe on my 96 Camaro RS
"You got insurance don't ya?"
" 'seething anger and sorrow' ...You need an accurate police report for that kind of thing... Doubt I'll get one."
The insurance line cracks me up every time. For those who have never seen this classic, you have to watch the movie when Red's place was destroyed and he was the one being asked about insurance.
The filming of this scene must have been so much fun, haha! Best movie ever.
One of the goons that’s wearing that blue shirt is Benny “the Jet” Urquidez. He was Jackie Chan’s best opponent in his two movies and he was also the martial arts sensei for Patrick Swayze in this movie.
Road house? ..
Both Dave Mustaine & Duff McKagan trained with Benny The Jet .
He would destroy Chan easily. But lost as it was a movie.
He’s also in Spider-Man (2002). He was 1 of the 4 goons who chase Mary Jane into an alley in an attempt to rob her.
The same Benny "The Jet" Urquidez that gets name checked in "Say Anything" by Lloyd Dobler when he picks up Diane Court ("kickboxing, ever heard of kickboxing?")?
For some bizarre reason I felt complete glee when the monster truck destroyed all of those cars and wrecked the dealership. I found it very humorous.
This movie was on last night. I always think back to my Bigfoot strikes again VHS tape whenever this scene comes up and in the words of Bob Chandler " they had only one building and four cars so there was no second take."
💯 😎👍
The Actor that plays the car lot owner ( I have not looked up his name) does a fantastic job in this scene.
His name was Jon Paul Jones. He was actually a stunt man. He played roles and did stunts in They Live , Roadhouse, and a few other movies and shows throughout the late 80's and 90's. I knew him as a kid in the early 2000s, he was a close friend of my dad. I knew him when I was living in Woolmarket, MS. He was a crotchety old man who watched movies in his trailer all day, but he was always a good friend to my dad. He had no family down here and after Katrina left MS, to go north where apparently he had a relative. I only ever saw him one more time after that, it was around 2009-2010 he called my dad to meet him at a Waffle House. From what he had told us, the stuff with his relatives didn't work out and he was homeless. He asked to stay with us, but at the time we were financially struggling. My dad had divorced a few years prior and I was in middle school at the time. My father, grandfather, and I were sharing a two bedroom apartment. My father had suffered a major stroke a couple years prior and was still recovering and my grandfather had a similar stroke a few years before him. We had no extra space for him to stay with us so my dad gave him all the cash he had in his wallet and that was the last time we ever saw him. We never heard from him again. I don't know what happened to him after that but my dad always regretted not letting him stay with us.
Notice how all the cars smashed in the showroom are stationwagons. No expensive cars, just mom's grocery getters
They were all new cars. The scene cost $500,000.
shit try a million its funny when bob played "ben gazair " part forging the river they never put that in the movie !!!!!
Those wagons would be worth triple now. 80s wagons are very desirable.
@@johnwilburn They were 4 Crown Victoria station wagons. They were probably around $15K new. So $60k worth of cars.
But this scene cost much more than the cars.
Benny the Jet. At the start of this clip. Legend...
At 0:54 notice the sign says Bakersfield and Los Angeles, this was supposed to be in Missouri. Also notice the cars being ran over were chained to the ground...
well they had to chain them to the floor or else they woulda moved off spot when jim jumped over them all the tires were fully inflated !!
Rubber doesn't like linoleum.
Good eye
It’s called film setup
If you've been to Bakersfield, it might as will be Missouri.
Dalton's bouncer in the scene before this. "Brad Wesley is going to put something down on a new car!" 😂
More like destroy the entire shop in a petty fit of evil.
Jeff Healey in the background, "What happened?"
i seen a different view of the monster truck clip from lots and lots of trucks.
BIG FOOT!!! KING OF THE MONSTER TRUCKS!!!
This scene was shot in one take and cost $500,000
I still have my VHS copy of Bigfoot strikes again and Bob Chandler talks about this scene he said " there was only one building and for car so there was no second take."
Those station wagons add up.
Red was one of Elvis's best friends, body guard, and wrote some songs for Elvis.
That small town got sick of that exiled mobster
"You got insurance don't ya?" Even if the answer is yes how in the hell would you go about filing that claim!
Wesley probly owns the insurance company in town too...
Hope he had farmers since they have seen a thing or two
Red West. Body guard and close personal friend of Elvis.
Just a _dustup of malarkey_ donchaknow
he's going down and i'm not going to lose a second of sleep over it
It kind of feels bad to see Ben Gazzara , playing the mean bully town - villain , after being used to watching his unforgettable " Run for your life " 60's series.
that's just illegal
Our family had that exact same white Ford station wagon. On many occasions we wished we could have driven over it like that.
That guy looks like Mike Bloomberg
Jim Kramer actually drove Bigfoot for the stunt.
A real monster truck driving legend! Him, Andy brass, and Dan Runte. Oh and Rich Hoosier!
He looks young
Jim mentioned in an interview that he left the rear sliding window and glass was pelting him the whole time. He aso mentioned that broken glass got under the hood and shredded the blower belt and almost causing the engine to stall out during the stunt.
You got insurance don't you lmao
UH NOOOOOOOOOOO
DUDE YOUR SCREWED
@@ekop1778 Haha
Somehow I don’t think there was ever a show room anywhere that consisted of all station wagons.
supposed to be set in Missouri but the sign for LA and Bakersfield is in the background at 0:54
This is the part of the movie which took the movie to the stratosphere. A good guy you are rooting for, a bad guy you love to hate, and a beautiful damsel. The sadness and broken heart of the man who just realized his livelihood was stolen from him. The primal rage it must have illicited, the impotence of knowing there is likely nothing he can do to this politically connected magnate. This is the greatest American movie I have ever seen.
Jim Kramer in Bigfoot 7!!..😄
Ben Loudermilk I knew it!
i litterally said "aint that truck looking familiar?"
@@looneycam2762 Sadly it's now sitting rotting away at a theme park in Florida right now!!..
Homer Simpson: ..now you got a lawsuit on your hands
Some of the cars that got destroyed were pretty nice.
Crazy, that’s at least $37 worth of damage to those cars!
Rumor is that the two Ford wagons cost the production over $200!
"You get him out of here Elizabeth cause if you dont he's going down and I'm not gonna lose a second sleep about it."
Best scene in the whole movie!
Present day monster jam take notes. Monster trucks are supposed to run over cars, not hit dirt ramps like its motocross
I know right, so boring.
You can't say that watching monster trucks fly through the air and even do backflips is boring
Lawsuits...
holy shit I've only just noticed benny 'the jet' urquidez is the guy in blue
enthrallingusername same. When i saw him i reconized him from jet li.
enthrallingusername ..Benny should have played one of the bouncers,I gaurantee he could have taken Jimmy.
Holy crap.
This shows how evil Brad Wesley is.
You can see the car is chained to the ground at 0:32.
0:25 is about the most extravagant 80s thing ever.
"Alright Yeah!" should have been used in this scene.
I'd give anything for an opportunity to drive a monster truck. Especially Bigfoot!
How Jackie Treehorn became Jackie Treehorn
Everyone got a show that day
If this movie were made today, it would be all special effects just like everything else is.
This is a powerful scene. Very tragic. Bigfoot represents Dalton and the car dealership depicts the town. Brad Wesley is represented by the driver of Bigfoot. And the car being crushed by Bigfoot is Wade Garrett being crushed by Dalton who is being "driven" (manipulated) by Brad Wesley.
OMG THEY ARE DRIVING AND CRUSHING STATION WAGONS.
Wait a minute, isn't that Benny Urquidez at (0:12) ?
sure is.
That’s random lol 😂😂
i never understood why the bystanders were laughing, especially after seeing the owner being forceflly removed after begging them to stop. and then continue to laugh after seeing the people inside run for their lives
That my friend is called Mob Mentality.
Free Monster Truck Show, Brah
Wesley looks like a well-liked Schlager singer from my neck of the woods called Eino Grön.
This and indecent proposal are the most entertaining bad movies ever made lol
Oh No ! Not the valuable and highly sought after fleet of station wagons ?!
Who else knew the guy driving the truck was BLADE from Masters of the Universe?
and now it sits in Kissimmee FL
Half the crowd is actually with the bad guys
Is there no police or any law enforcement in this movie? Lol
It’s the one, the only, BIGFOOT #7!!!!!!!
If they remade Road House today half of it would be CGI.
There wouldn't even be a Monster Truck in it
Everyone in their cars: My leg!
Why were those guys so mean to Hulk Hogan's dad?!
Desperately need that white station wagon, not sure the make of it though.

Jeff Healey SAW the whole thing
..............he is disappointed...............
0:29 you can see the tie-downs hooked to the chassis on the Ford LTDs so they stay in place. In that same still, if you glance over at the LTD on the right of the screen, there's a strap on the passenger front wheel as well. Otherwise the cars would be rolling all over the place when Bigfoot runs over them.
It's also an amazing amount of luck that no one DIED in that car lobby during the 'crush'!
Movie was awesome
Bow down to the legendary monster truck king..... Bigfoot
Never saw this in film before!
lol...I luv how they are driving 1988/89 model year cars in this movie but the Ford dealer has four 60's/70's era "new" station wagons in the showroom for the monster truck to crush.
Steve Fowler those are 80s model Ford Country Squire station wagons. Around 87-88 model year vehicles.
I am pretty sure that FORD MOTOR COMPANY supplied the cars and trucks for the film. because all of the cars and trucks at the dealership are from 1986 -1989 and the movie is made in 1989.
I can tell you that Ford Motor Company didn't supply the monster truck because BIGFOOT 4X4 INC. Built and supplied BIGFOOT #7 for this film.
You are right.
Dude.... this movie was BEFORE INTERNET. (and fact checking smart asses) 😏
Bigfoot won't be in the 2024 Remake ,Thats why I live for the 1989 Original ,R I P Ben Gazzara as Villian Brad Wesley , Patrick Swayze as Dalton ,Sam Elliott as Wade Garrett to Jeff Healey.Legends all .
Rip ford cars
This could only happen in the imaginary world of Hollywood in the 80’s😂 a man with a Big Foot Monster Truck driving through a showroom of cars in broad daylight with countless witnesses.🤪
Notice how they had the cars chained to the floor
One thing I can't tolerate is a bully.
I need an American Tie plus BigFoot.
See if you know what monster truck this was, here's a hint: hot wheels made a toy out of it
nuttin but wagons in the showroom.... LOL
Stoudemire got a drive-thru now ......
Yeah this should attract a whole bunch of new businesses!
i wonder if he would of picked on straughymier if he was a Caterpillar Dealer instead of the local Ford Dealer?,he might of payed Brad Wesley visit at his house with a 966 Wheelloader
Movie is set in Jasper, Missouri, but at 00:54 you can clearly see a sign that says Los Angeles / Bakersfield in the background...lol
@Pedro Sepulveda Yeah, and I thought you'd be bigger.
BIGFOOT
The unbridled irony that everyone is looking at this scene in horror, and in this scene is BLIND MUSICIAN, Jeff Healy.
Jeff Healy is not "everyone". He can still experience it through his sense of hearing and the reactions of those around him. "Whoa, boy!" Irony bridled.
Jeff's also dead now.
God no! Not the family truckster!!! Wait...wrong movie.
He was 25 in this movie
You got insurance don't you?
Yeah the the guys premium is about to skyrocket lol
is that bigfoot i noticed that big blue ford monster truck only without the bigfoot sign on the side
Two of the actors were in BIG LEBOWSKI
He’s a drifter.
0:29 gumball's car :,v
Generic user Demon Who the hell is gumball
Super Mario it's a show on Cartoon Network.
I just noticed that the 4x4 badge reads 4x4x4 a nod its true identity as
BIGFOOT 7
This IS Bigfoot #7, they quiet literally built it for this movie. Jim Kramer did the driving for this scene.
A Ford destroying fords 😂😂 that's poetic justice
I wish this actually happened in real life
Love the cars ford
BIGFOOT 4x4x4
Early 80s Fords are the best
And no one even called the FBI? Don’t there a federal law about mass destruction of a car dealership and all the vehicles there?
Its Brad Wesley's town.
