- New Construction or Resale? In this video, we discuss the three main reasons to consider building your next home, plus some extra incentives out there for military buyers with a VA home loan. Most people are generally concerned with the cost of a new build and the time it takes to complete, but it's always important to view real estate as an investment, and new construction can absolutely be an excellent investment.
My family recently chose to build new construction for the same reasons mentioned in this video, so if you have any questions about the building process, please let me know.

Can I build a multi family with a VA construction loan as long as I live in one of the units as my primary residence? I’ve read the guidelines but they are vague.

So, my husband and I are looking very seriously at potentially buying land from my sister and husband once they secure said land with a house already on it and building on what we buy. How does that work buying land, then building on said land? I now learned we would need a builder who has a VA builder ID and that's about it. My husband gets out in little under a year. Thanks!!
The key is to find a lender that offers VA Construction loans. Where are you thinking of doing this?

I’ve seen videos saying that you have to pay the appreciation value during the time it’s build. Worst case was during the spike of lumber a house went over loan by 100k. What’s your take on that?
LOL never lied... AF can finagle staying in one place their whole career LOL... I managed nearly 8 years living near Tokyo. Great video! I'm trying to figure out how to use this loan to rebuild a house on land I already own in my city's historical district (Stateside LOL not Tokyo).
LOL. Glad you liked that lil AF dig. Using the VA loan for what you are trying to do probably won't work. Is there an existing property and you are actually "re-building" or starting from scratch?
My husband and I are looking into building a VA new construction for our first home. Trying to find good information has been close to impossible. Your videos have been great. We are looking to relocate from CA to NH. Do you happen know of any VA construction lenders/companies in New Hampshire?

Hello! What is your advice on using VA loan to cover the purchase of land and constructing a new home?
Thanks for watching my video and asking me this question! The first thing you will need to do is find a lender that does "VA Construction Loans". You should be able to work with a local lender that offers this which will allow you to finance the land and construction project.
Where are you located? Maybe I can assist and help you find a lender/agent.

How does VA construction loan work? Do you have to have 2 different loans. I have spoke to a couple banks they have not idea about it.

Roy, thanks for taking the time to watch/comment on my video. The first step for you is to identity a builder that will build on your lot. You can find this out by seeing who built some of the houses in your immediate area or contacting a couple local builders. I hope this answered your question.

Bro, I own the Land and was going to get a modular home. I have 2 mortgage lates on my land nove and dec 2022 due to a misunderstanding on payments. I'm trying to get those knocked off so i can get my VA Construction loan. Any info would help man...

Great video! With the housing market being as inflated as it is now & with construction materials being more expensive, in the state of Florida, would it be more cost effective to build a home or to buy one (ex. 2-3 bedroom home that is about 1200-1500 sq ft)?
Great question. A property that size is generally NOT going to be a custom home and will fall into one of the "Tract builders" e.g. DR Horton. I still believe building with DR Horton would be more cost effective than purchasing the similar style/condition re-sale home.

@@LITTLEMISSASIA the biggest difference would be changing the floor plan. When builind one of these properties, you have options as far as the aesthetics go, but no options to move/remove walls, add bathrooms, etc. With a custom home, you have the ability to modify ALL of that.

Great question Jason! There are a plethora of mortgage lenders that will write VA loans, it just depends on who you want to work with and where you are located (local lenders are always a good option).
