Bhakti movement was very prominent in Telugu speaking areas. Annamayya wrote 35000 verses in praise of Lord Venkateshwara. Tyagaraaja wrote thousands in praise of Lord Rama. Gopanna known as Ramdas wrote a Shatakam (100 verses) and numerous poems in praise of Lord Rama. All these built up a great musical movement. Even today singers like M.S. Subbalakshmi and Bala Murali Krishna sang these and they sell in great numbers. Telugu the most melodious ajnata bhaasha is a store house of songs of Bhakti movement unparalleled. Please include this info when you talk of Bhakti movement.

I have been listening to/reading many many Dharmic Revivalists, those who have skin in the game in reviving & preserving this rich, plural, intellectual, spiritual civilization, for many years now. Whether it is the combative yet logical Rajiv Malhotra who single-handedly confronted agenda-driven American Indologists or soft-spoken Kashmiri Subhash Kak, or up & coming Sai Deepak, or the brilliant people like Sushil Pandit, Sanjay Dixit, Sandeep Balakrishna, Aravindan Neelakandan, David Frawley... list is exhaustive. But I never get enough of the most feisty and witty of them all, Dr. Kapil Kapoor. He is simply brilliant and has such powerful way of grabbing your full attention. He is always challenging you and shaking you out of your comforts. He is incisive. He brings to you these little anecdotes, local stories, wisdom of the past that simply mesmerizes you. I wish I had a mentor like him to guide me in this chosen path of fighting for Dharma.

India is connected to the West (in places like America, Europe and Australia) through the Indo-European language family, while India is connected to the East (in places like China, Korea and Japan) through the Indian religion of Buddhism.

I completely agree with everything you said in this video Kapil Kapoorji and I always love you no matter what Kapil Kapoorji.
Brahman is like an ocean and Atman is like a wave on that ocean - the wave is inseparable from the ocean. They are obsessed with suppressing our sense of the possible - one of the ways they accomplish this is by restricting our access to correct information. They are hoarding knowledge of TRUE history, TRUE geology, TRUE astronomy, TRUE health, TRUE physics, etc. and, most importantly of all, knowledge of the TRUE nature of 'reality' itself while teaching a false, incomplete and distorted version of those subjects to the general public, who usually unquestioningly accept all of it. To anyone who dismisses anything that I post as being 'crazy', just remember that all it takes to suppress a person's sense of the possible is to restrict his or her access to correct information. Simple as that. Don't let others dictate to you what can and 'cannot' be done, what is 'real' and 'unreal' and what is possible and 'impossible'. You can do ANYTHING YOU WANT TO DO and you can be ANYONE YOU WANT TO BE, while still facing the karmic consequences of your actions. People are AWAKENING to a MORE EXPANDED CONCEPTION of the world and life in general and this is a PROFOUNDLY GOOD THING. We owe it to our innate intelligence to QUESTION EVERYTHING and that includes EVERYTHING that I tell you. There are two things that they do not want you to know above all else:
    1. That who and what we ALL really are is Pure Consciousness, which is INFINITE AND ETERNAL, experiencing life in a temporary human form (you can call Pure Consciousness 'God' if you want, but I don't, because the word 'God' has limiting religious connotations that I would rather avoid).
    2. That what we call 'reality' is ILLUSORY and therefore MALLEABLE, which means that NOTHING is impossible (indeed, even the word 'impossible' itself literally says "I'm possible!").
The righteous will inherit the Earth and beyond, other me. Have faith in that. And sharpen your swords until that day comes. We have the power to transform this prison illusion into a PARADISE ILLUSION, so let's USE that power! 😀

Our 'Grand Narrative' is live and breathing in society today. I am of the opinion that we need a way to nourish and cherish this sentiment. Your role, dear sir, is of paramout importance. You do not need to write a book but just speak into the camera of your mobile phone. Short recorded clips of about 10 to 12 minutes could be sent out to so many youngsters (and their parents) so that they could watch these clips again and again. It would lead them to ask questions and question the status quo. Hence the journey of finding answers would ensure engagement, internalisation of beliefs and hopefully a reduction in our amnesia state.

“I am convinced that everything has come down to us from the banks of the Ganges, - astronomy, astrology, metempsychosis, etc... It is very important to note that some 2,500 years ago at the least Pythagoras went from Samos to the Ganges to learn geometry...But he would certainly not have undertaken such a strange journey had the reputation of the Brahmins' science not been long established in Europe” - French philosopher Voltaire

Nice arguments, in fact very strong and convincing. Ideational fallout, the impact is important. Ok. My humble submission is sir what if the impact of an impact distract generations from scientific and rational path resulted in poverty, illiteracy, superstition and unproductive technology then at least we must take steps to correct the situation.

Excellent talk by Kapil Kapoor ji. Seems he was allotted very little time, as he seemed to abridge many of his historical anecdotes for paucity of time. Would have been even more fascinating and insightful if he had more time to elaborate. It's sad that even after 1947 India hasn't replaced Macaulay's education system with our more rounded & robust education system, esp the Gurukul system which taught life skills to pupils from an early age, apart from educating them on various subjects taught in modern day schools. India has to rediscover its ancient civilizational roots rich in knowledge and timeless wisdom, which we've forgotten, in our quest to ape the West.
