It’s crazy how different this is from the interviews that guys make. This video shows how nuanced men and women are, and more importantly, how intelligent these ladies are. This usual type of interview made by men literally just displays really shallow women to make those ladies look bad, and also make all women look bad. What I loved the most is when there was that old lady that said she ranked herself that way because of her wrinkles. I loved that you immediately went "so?" Like, it did take her a second to try and justify but then she realized that she had much more to her than just her skin's age, and that was truly great to see her up her grade.

The 1-to-10 attractiveness scale is like nails on a chalkboard for my brain. It is highly subjective. One person's 5 could be another person's 10. Also, doesn't the 1-to-10 make 5 average?

I don’t think people realise how attractive a 10 would actually be.Attractiveness depends on the perception of other people and to be a 10 you would have to be unconditionally attractive to every single person on earth.Asking people how they would rate themselves out of 10 would be entirely the way they perceive themselves,but attractiveness is a different thing

I always assumed the rating scale would be based on societal standards of beauty and where you think you fall within that hierarchy.
So someone could be a 10 on that scale but people who have preferences that are different from the societal beauty standard would not consider them the most attractive.
exactly. when shes asking them to rate themselves obviously its not what they think its what *other* people would think of them, on average.. for example a bunch of people are simping for that one harry styles looking guy he definitely deserves a higher score compared to the others

I like that people did adjust their ratings based on things other than looks and that lady who says I smile a lot YOU'RE SO BEAUTIFUL and her smile is the first thing I noticed. I also understand the lady who rated herself a 0 because sometimes you're just alive and not too concerned with what does or doesn't make you a 10. Kind of like white tshirt dude with the tag who gave himself a 6, I think we just don't think about our looks sometimes and so we'd rather hear how other people perceive us than how we perceive ourselves because we don't (perceive ourselves ...like the lady at the salon who said she's a mystery lol) 😅

I love your confidence
I'm Finnish and this was interesting to watch. Being humble is in our blood and it was fascinating how I instantly started disliking and judging the people who rated themselves a 10. On the contrary, I found the man who gave himself a 4 extremely attractive after he rated himself.
I think if someone would ask Finnish people this question, you'd get a much more varying range of answers. And a lot more people would think logically that 5 isn't ugly, it's average, and they'd compare themselves to that benchmark instead of just going with their own confidence level. On the other hand, Finns are pretty blunt, so the people who truly are objective 9s and 10s most likely wouldn't have trouble admitting that.
I would see the "average" (most common answer) as 7, as most people are pleasant enough to look at, applying a likert scale instead of normally distributing the population and objectively ranking within that. I feel like it's very difficult to be objective about physical attractiveness, as attraction is so personal.
Another Finnish person here, and I 100% instantly thought the same!

I can't believe so many people rate themselves 10. I would give me a 5 in general, maybe 7 in my best, best days 2 years ago and with straigntened hair. Now after seeing this, I wouldn't know how to rate myself anymore... This is so confusing.
Honestly, I don't have any blatant sign of unhealthiness in my features but: small chest, dark circles, not being 1,70 cm high, too muscular thighs, usually no makeup (my skin is too sensitive), being brown-haired with a rather fair skin making me look extremely common, and those fucking curly hair... all these things make me feel less confident in my appearance. Curly hair is extremely difficult to make look good, especially if you want to keep it long. I've tried so many routines and products for the last 3 years... the best I can do is make my hair look good for 1 or 2 hours and that's about it. Whenever I see another woman with long, straight hair I just want to give up and go back to my old ways, straightening it again.
The only persons who like curly hair are the ones who don't have curls, never had to take care of curls weeks after weeks and it's always other women. It's like they're telling me to keep my hair curly since it'll keep me out of the dating game and kill the competition. I know that statistically men prefer straight hair, especially in Western countries and here, in France.
I'm so wondering whether I want to straight them again or not. I mean... the only reasons for me to try to take care of my natural hair are: it'll keep them healthy and stronger a longer time + I don't hate rain as much as I used to + somehow I'm proud of being half-half-brown and want to show my 'exotic' hair off.
Reasons I would like my hair straight again: more practical (except for rain) + looks better + makes me feel like I'd look better and more 'tidy' and 'sophisticated' (less 'messy') + would make me look younger + I've read that statistically, men prefer straight hair.
I know everybody is very pretty here in the video, but when I hear someone calling themselves a 10 or 30 or sooo above that, for me just sounds like arrogance not confidence... It a turn off for me, sometimes we need to be humble. The prettiest people are the ones that don't know they are pretty, they look more kind

Beauty is subjective, but only when we talk about people 5/10-10/10. In this range, some admire the appearance of a person, others do not, but in any case, he is not a freak, he is just average. I am about 6/10 due to crooked teeth, objective deformation of the chin, incorrect posture and lack of sports. I'm going to fix it all and get better. I also get stuck because of all sorts of shit like lip size, face shape, waist, but it's still bullshit.
I think you can't insult a person because of their appearance, it's a complete game. Haight takes place only because of terrible deeds, this is the only normal reason. Nevertheless, I just try to evaluate myself more or less objectively and correct what I can with a doctor. Let's be honest, beauty standards change, but if a person is very beautiful, from any era, he will be considered beautiful.

This had a lot of surprises.
Attractive also means different things.
Like, I'm plus sized so I know I don't conform to all the beauty standards even though I have great hair, eyes, smile, skin, and big pretty breasts, but I also really like myself and have that kind of confidence and bubbly personality that makes a lot of people like me.
But I'm also lazy about fashion which I know would boost my attractiveness but my job is more physically demanding so I don't dress up or do my makeup and hair all cute for work because my clothes would get ruined and I would sweat my makeup off or just be uncomfortable.
Like a lot of people said, it also just depends on the day.
It's fascinating how everyone perceives attractiveness so differently!
