I had a Tesla Model Y and Model 3….I now have the 2023 Polestar 2, PPP and I would NEVER look back…This car has been a joy and my favorite EV. Best fit and finish, styling and fun to drive… It all boils down to personal choice.

Thanks for the review but there is so much wrong information in it.
    1. Polestar was not newly createt by Geely and Volvo. Polestar is a much older company that has been Volvos race company.
    2. The Dual Motor in the Video hasn't 476hp but 408hp. You get the 476hp just with the performance package.
    3. The stickers on the side are not from Hertz but from Polestar. So on every car "Polestar" is written twice. Is this the case with other brands?
After 5 min. I stopped watching. Sorry!

Well, I appreciate you giving it a try. On #1 you are "technically" correct. But the Polestar being sold today is a stand alone brand of cars designed ONLY for Polestar. Not modified Volvo's. And my intention was not to give a 15 minute dissertation about the history of Volvo / Geely / Polestar. So I think the way I presented it was accurate.
#2 you are correct. But I think you are being "nit picky". I should have put some text above my narration that had "...with the Performance Package".
#3 I assume you are correct. But would you agree with me it looks stupid and I don't understand why you put that sticker on the side....

@@FindtheRightRoad, everything Riccardo pointed out is correct. I would consider taking the criticism constructively and applying that to future videos - Fact check rather than guess and don't put spin on an origin story and then call it accurate. The internet is full of people who know more than you, so if you don't get at least basic information correct you run the risk of looking ignorant and losing the audience.

I also noticed the inaccuracies of items 2 and 3 above. Also had to stop after 5mins to see if anyone else caught them in the comments. Not a troll, but noting the details regarding the dual motor and performance package specs is not being nit picky. It's important. Creating good CZcams content takes time. I like the closeup stills. Good video graphics. Keep at it but don't dismiss the comments. Use it to improve. Good luck!🎉

@@FindtheRightRoad Nice try, but to be really picky:
      #1 "creating a new company"
#2 you talk about the upgrade for 3'500$
#3 I agree that these stickers are not very nice. I will remove them on the first day I'll get my P*2. It's just because you claimed that "Polestar" isn't written anywhere on the car.
Don't get me wrong: it's all not very important. I just wanted to give you a feedback because at this point I really wasn't interested to watch the rest of the video any more.

      @@FindtheRightRoad I work in a Polestar Space not all that far from you. The above commentors are correct;
The Long Range Dual Motor is in fact 408hp, with the Performance Pack reaching 476, but you'll also get the Dual Flow Ohlins Dampers, and 4 Piston Brembo Brakes, as well as Swedish Gold seatbelts and Valve Stem Caps on the tires. That's not to mention the forged allow wheels exclusive to the Perf. Pack. Now, it should be noted that IF you have the standard Long Range Dual Motor, you CAN purchase the upgraded software of the Perf. Pack to your vehicle! That's now available as an OTA update found on the Polestar Portal for our owners!
We put the stickers on the side so people who are fluent with BEV technology can see at a glance what the vehicles offer. It's also one of the few places on the vehicle itself where we have our branding, as we try very hard to adhere to the concepts of Scandinavian Minimalism. With that said, some of our owners and lessees have requested the stickers be removed, which isn't an issue at all!
We could go into detail of Polestar's origins dating all the way back to Flash Engineering in the late '90s, but that's irrelevant to where we are today. While we used to be a performance tuning house akin to Spoon for Honda, or Dinan to BMW, we are today more like AMG to Mercedes in that we've been fully welcomed by the brand we were always loyal to, and in return, we've been granted a new direction and purpose with building performance oriented Battery Electric Vehicles! It's exciting times for us, for sure!
You mentioned that the owner's manual is missing. Well, if you go into our Infotainment system, and select the 4-Square on the touchscreen, the book icon towards the bottom is in fact the Owner's Manual! It's always been electronically entered into our cars so you don't have to thumb through a physical book! You missed quite a bit with the Infotainment screen, such as being able to select which Apps are visible in the homescreen(you can select those and even move them around to different sections via the 4-Square, again). It should also be noted that with the white outlined USB-C charging port, that's for Apple Carplay!
Moving back towards the trunk; there's another way to close it without using any buttons! Simply perform a short kick under the rear bumper towards the center, and the trunk will open and close! You don't need to touch any buttons at all, as it's completely handsfree!
Thank you for your interest in Polestar, and thank you for taking the time to review the Polestar 2! I look forward to hearing your thought on the Polestar 3 when it debuts in Q4 of this year!

I've owned a Polestar 2 for 6 months; when I bought it Tesla hadn't started their price reductions so the equation was different then to now. I chose the P2 mainly because it feels more premium, less of an appliance, and more of a traditional car. After 6 months and 3100 miles I would say the things you expect to find annoying really aren't, for example the rear visibility and the cupholders. Neither are as big a deal as most reviewers say.
The one thing that is a little frustrating is actually the instruments; while the map display is really nice and the display itself is crisp and clear, you actually get little else there. No audio information for example, and the cruise control display is really lacking compared with what most other cars tell you. On the other hand the Google Assistant integration is superb, makes operating the car and navigation in particular super easy. By far the best of any car I've owned or driven including Tesla.
Speaking of which, on a recent trip I hired a Model 3 for a few days out of curiosity and while the charging experience was great the only other thing I could say was better about it was the interior space. On every other level I prefer the Polestar, price excluded of course.

I almost bought one but after I Googled the charging system and method, it is too complicated and the range is only 260 miles, not enough for me to travel long distance so I decided to change my mind. A CPO is not expensive with a low mileage one. I do understand the Polestar is actually under Volvo. You can still find some Volvo Polestar engine management. They are fast and firm. Too complicated about the charging.

I rented the exact same car this last weekend … and had the exact same issues with Hertz! I had one additional problem: as the charge approached 90%, the rate of charge from ElectrifyAmerica began to slow down considerably. It estimated that it would take another hour for the car to charge the final 10%. Not sure why, but I never had that problem when recharging the car I own: 2”2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Great honest review. Our company has one of these (2023 LRDM) and a Model Y. This car needs a few more years of development to be remotely competitive and their service needs more work. We've had chronic telematics issues in our company car which means the internet connection cuts out and we can't do anything with the screen. I've driven this car around town and it has the worst cupholder design of any car I've driven. We can't even take this car out for coffee and store two cups in front. The armrest juts up and flaps around. Terrible design. The Model Y has a plain boring interior but functionality and comfort is way above our Polestar.

And also when we go to coffee with their friends, we don't do it in the car. However, we can eat hamburgers in the car. but mostly the passengers. you shouldn't drive a car with a Coke or a hamburger in your hand

Unfortunately nit as efficient or good as tesla model 3, plus it doesn't qualify fir tax credit. Just makes this a very hard sell. Many used polestar 2 are dropped in price by $15k within 1 year or else.which is very worrisome why are people just trading these so quickly after purchasing them.

Agree. Like I said at the end of the video, while I may like the looks of this better. The Model 3 is less expensive, longer range and better performance. And it has the ability to add auto pilot. If I were in the market, it would be an easy choice for me.
