Attending my first ALL ELECTRIC VEHICLE (EV) Car Show !
I attended my first ALL EV Car Show. Got to check out the RIVIAN SUV and Pickup Truck. Got a ride in a Tesla Model S PLAID (blisteringly fast!). A small but interesting group of EV enthusiasts. Is this what car shows will look like in 10 years ?

just bought my 3rd corvette, 2nd 1995...a lil ruff no major complaints will fix as i go, still a fun car to drive
Oh, its Way Over $60,000.
If you go to Bring a Trailer and search for past sales of 1954 Corvettes. They all fall in that range...
My favorite year/model of corvette!
I almost bought one but after I Googled the charging system and method, it is too complicated and the range is only 260 miles, not enough for me to travel long distance so I decided to change my mind. A CPO is not expensive with a low mileage one. I do understand the Polestar is actually under Volvo. You can still find some Volvo Polestar engine management. They are fast and firm. Too complicated about the charging.
I have been renting a Polestar by Hertz in Europe for 5 days now and found it to be faultless, The navigation system is absolutely brilliant and the car is a pleasure to drive.
a lot of knowledge.
Thanks for posting this video. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the Ontario Club members' variety of models.
The first car you showed, (black 63' split window) is my Dad's..he passed away last summer and my brother and Mum took the car out to the show today
It was a great car. Glad they brought it out to the show.
As someone who wants to buy a C4, this was really helpful.
Got to the Tail of the Dragon at just about 8 in the morning. No one was driving the road. Morning was the perfect time.
I’m temped to do it myself as I have done my brakes and spark plugs and oil change on my corvette, I’ve even replaced the window motor but tbh it does look intimidating
Bill on curious cars is much better than this guy. He not only knows his shit. He's naturally so funny with his dry humor.
Was this comment really necessary? Do you go around CZcams searching to insult people? This channel is my hobby. Not a full time business. I do it for fun. Perhaps you should keep comments like this to yourself
I'm sorry. You're right. I had no business insulting you like that. I want to subscribe to your channel and be supportive because your content is good. You do a great job going thru the cars. Good take on it. That will never happen again.
He's put the top in wrong.
Nice
Thank you so much fir this video
Man I loved my e90, sadly it’s been a headache the past couple months with battery/voltage problems that I no longer want to deal with plus I’ve driven it over 210k miles. I’ve let it go and now drive a 2015 volvo s60 that I absolutely adore but miss the charm my e90 had, especially the idrive system. The e90 is a great car that everyone should buy just make sure to take meticulous care of it and it’ll do the same for you. For the first car I’ve owned and worked on myself it’s relatively easy to do diy work on too plus it’s significantly cheaper than bringing it to repair shops or the dealer and parts are also widely available (thank you fcp euro).
Try Sports Mode.... ????? Problem solved!
whaaaaa whaaaa
Adaptive cruise control was on option in 2014-15. I have in on my 2014 F32 M-Sport
Two of these issues (targa top removal, rear hatch seal degradation) are solved by buying the ragtop variation. Still, the coupes are more affordable on average. Pick your battles, I guess.
35 dollars for returning it under 70% what? It costs them in less than $5 to charge it back. It should be charge free. It sounds greedy and they're just missing out on market by doing that.
I'm looking at these in a Grand Sport. I WANT a C8, and while the price (new & used) is arguably legitimate it's touch out of my budget if I want to do anything else with my life. In addition, I'm a big guy and feel more comfortable in a C6. The C7 is... snug by comparison; and the C8 feels like I'm putting on spandex!
We owned a 2013 Grand Sport Convertible for a few years. I LOVED it. Great car.
What to look for? L👀k for something else.
How come? I'm looking for either c4 or c5. Update me whenever you have time.
Has Chevrolet ever built a car that was not pure crap? Seems like every single model of every year is built to spend its life at the dealership shop. Built in failure and expense.
spoken like a man who has never maintained his chevrolet
Spoken like someone who has never owned a Corvette. Our 2003 we put 100,000 miles on it and did nothing but routine maintenance....
You’re picking apart a rental R8 obviously the price would reflect the wear on the vehicle and your observation about the paint is very fixable Correction that would need to be done i’m sure the price would reflect The condition. Also the driver seat it only has normal wear on the side where you get in not where your legs are at the bottom of the . Also the Rim is scuffed that doesn’t mean somebody neglected or beat the car . You should probably know more about used vehicles and supercars before making a review video on a vehicle that is literally a rental from Turo and you’re obviously just speculating that the car is not in good condition. You never mentioned anything about service records. and if you are getting into an Audi or a you should know that you’re going to have to pay for things to be fixed for you to point out the rim and cosmetic things those are things that are all fixable that a person who is probably gonna sell the car would have those issues addressed otherwise I’m sure the price would be negotiable. And I’m sure if he had the paint corrected and the rims fixed you would say that car is in perfect condition.
Really? Ok...to each their own. This car was rough. Clearly had not been treated well. The owner and I even talked about it. He knows it needs some work. This is no way to treat an amazing car...does your car have paddle shifters that fall off ?
I have a 2009 Vette. Only thing I don't like are the factory seats. Everything else you mentioned I disagree with.
The european version was more powerful
For Americans: Never buy the XDrive unless you have money to burn. Good god what a headache with them. Front diff mounted to oil pan. Crappy steel front subframe too with xDrive.
When you live in a place with all 4 seasons....I find it helpful to have xDrive.
lol is that in northville, I was there!! small world
Yes. It was at the July show in Northville Township.
Dream car💯
I purchased a 2016 C7, 2LT, Z51 pkg 2 years ago, 1 owner, 3400 miles. As I comment I just passed 10,000 miles. Simply love the car. Just watch for Active Fuel Management (AFM) that was not mentioned in this video. I recently purchased the AFM bypass so the car stays in V8 mode instead of constantly switching back and forth between V4 and V8. Plenty of videos on UTube in regards to this issue, check them out. Also this may sound crazy but the car is not equipped with blind side mirrors, so you have to adjust. Also and this goes for all newer cars, check out UTube videos on all the options and how to actually use them. Lot better than reading the manual. Car is loaded with technology, fantastic car.
These comments are why people dislike corvette owners.
They did point out that I made a mistake. It has the hood from a 427, but the engine is a 327. I have thick skin. It doesn't bother me. :)
This is a great video. Tonnes of info. I need mine done on my 2012 and this helps a great deal. thanks
F40 in 1987 makes this look obsolete
And the 959
1987 I had a coontash 5000 S. It was the biggest piece of garbage I ever owned. You could see the road through the floor boards. It was horrible to drive. I sold it within 2 weeks of buying it. I actually gave it away to get it out of my garage. You couldn't give me any of their products for free that goes for Ferrari as well. They are nothing but money grabs for the manufacture they give you nothing in performance. Take my word for it I've been there done that. Would never do it again?
You had a Countach, and you can't even spell it properly😂 Are you sure you're not a fantasist ?
A beautiful car & color
You covered the most important issues, I believe. Thank you for sharing, it was a great watch!
I rented a polestar 2 from hertz here in Minnesota last Thursday and Friday, it went well except I knew nothing about electric cars, much charger anxiety, the first day I was ready to bring it back but the 2nd day was getting the hang of it more and more, the biggest help were other users at the charging stations, they were incredibly willing to help if you asked them, I would rent one again, I have a video on my you tube
What is the name of your channel? I would like to see your video...
Do you still have the standard track pads for the Z51? Those are dusty as heck! Swap em out and no more issue.
Forgot How HOT the tunnel gets by your leg.
Thank you so much I dident know they changed the steering wheel
Still overpriced in 2024. But I still bought a 2019 Z06. 🎉
Bad move. C8...
I love your Vette!!!
I hear you brother. I sometimes encounter the same problem. It's hard to get back there and stick it in but I keep trying every chance I get...lol
Hi find the right car 🚗 nice video 📹 and workmanship the car is nice
Beautiful car!
Unfortunately in today's economy it is impossible to get one of these with that mileage for less than 35k.
Don’t forget a good set of splash guards 😊 I have them on mine front and rear. 💙💙💙💙💙
Not 2.6 seconds its more like 3 seconds slow its a sports car not a track car unless u change the stock
That "43¢/kW-hr" that you had to pay is what is going to be the biggest dis-incentive to widespread EV adoption. Under ideal conditions, at 65 mph in flat terrain, the Polestar 2 can go about 260 miles on 85 kW-hr. That number comes from the fact that it takes about 85 kW-hr to put 79 kW-hr into the battery, accounting for 8% resistive heat losses in the battery cells and wiring. So that's 85 * $0.43 = $36.55, now divide by 260 miles = 14.06¢/mile. A Toyota Camry Hybrid driving the same road, would go 500 miles on $36.55 worth of $3.73/gallon gas. That's 7.31¢/mile. The base model Camry Hybrid costs $28,400, the Polestar 2 is $51,300. So, the Camry costs 45% less to purchase, and costs 48% less per mile to drive on a long road trip. And, with the Camry, you never have to worry about Range Anxiety, or experience the driving range get cut in half in extremely cold weather, which is the rule of thumb for all EV's. Now, to be even-handed about this, there are certain circumstances where an EV can be a good value. If you live somewhere with a not-for-profit municipal electric service, and they offer a discount rate for overnight EV charging, you might be paying as little as 10¢/kW-hour. Most "affordable" EV cars (Tesla model 3, Nissan Leaf, Toyota BZ4X, Hyundai Ionic5, etc), will have a running cost of around 3.5 to 4.5 cents per mile on flat terrain, without use of heat or air conditioning. If you only ever charge at home, and the climate where you live is neither extremely cold or hot, so you don't need to use the heater or air conditioner very often, an EV will have a running cost about 42% less than a Toyota Hybrid, But if you look at the purchase price, the only EV that might cost less than a Toyota Camry is a Chevy Bolt, and that car is not in the same class as a Camry for comfort, performance, or resale value. I've got nothing against EV's in principle, but their cost of ownership just isn't competitive with Hybrids at the current national average price of regular gas, and the (very expensive) price of Level 3 DC fast charging.
