I love it when an interviewer asks concise questions without giving us half of her life story and then lets the interviewee answer without interruptions. Congratulations Emma Barnett! Great job.
Thimply thpectacular.
@@Thedudeabides803 haahha cheers for the laughs dude also this interview was great. She did a great job. Brian, as always, was amazing to listen to.
I often wonder if the stars that we see in these images have died or don't exist anymore, any comments on this 😇👍
If only the mainstream media could follow suit
Absolutely! Here here.
I can listen to this man talk ALL DAY LONG. He's beyond amazing.

No, my name does not mean I am a flat earther, that is your assumption.

Need more people like Brian who don’t talk about space and astronomy in a dismissive way to people that don’t understand it. He talks about these things like a normal human being that most people can grasp.
I agree. That is exactly what I don't respect with Neil de Grasse Tyson, cause he is such an ego diva. Brian is such a great humble guy
I agree 👍
It's probably the first time i see a journalist asking questions without interrupting and being genuinely interested and smiling for a change!
Well done lady,
Great interview,👏👏👏
A masterclass in interviewing. I'm heartened to see that others have also appreciated the expert way this interview was conducted.
Thank you, Emma. Absolutely floor-less.
Brian’s strongest traits are his child like wonder and his relatability/down to earth personality. 12:14 this stat never fails to amaze me!.
I don't know how to express this feeling. I almost cried while listening to your story, Professor. It's very deep and astonishing at the same time. Thank you once again for being such a good scientist and storyteller!
I do not remember if I ever heard a man talked so nicely as this Man !
We need more videos from him. Thank you and Cheers !
The journalist is called Emma Barnett. She's used to host the morning slot on BBC radio 5 Live, a highly popular station with millions of daily listeners. Learning her craft with the likes of Nicky Campbell who is a giant in listening carefully and letting the caller speak.
Emma's a brilliant journalist and this interview illustrates this.

I've said the same thing as him before......if there is no other intelligent life in the universe, including never here on Earth, no one or no thing would ever get to experience it or see it. It would just be there. This makes me appreciate being alive.
This guy is a true treasure.

Absolutely fantastic interviewer. I wish she could interview every person with something to say because she doesn’t put herself in the way and she asks great questions. Well done.
Never forget Patrick Moore's humility and integrity in saying "We just don't know".
Taken 4 billions years to go from cell to civilisation and we are just killing each other over imaginary lines in the dirt. Good Job humanity.
The best part ever of all he has been saying is (we don't know). It's the most honest and real answer for all questions.
I hope that Brian never loses his beautiful smile

Is Brian being coy, in his delightfully shy manner, to admit that he might find the idea of hairy black holes tantalizing?
Miss thise wobbly sets!
Why is the universe so unfathomably beautiful. There is no reason it needs to be like this at all, or even the existence of math and rules and laws. Why even something instead of nothing. So incredibly cool.

thought-provoking answers ???
I must of missed it, could you enlighten me on one, please?
Great interview
Thankyou sir
I loved his mention of Einsteins compass ❤️
This is really an astonishing piece of information and most cosmo biologist believe that probablity of an intelligent life at least in our galaxy apart from earth is actually “none” ,even one of my friend who works as an astro biologist think in the same manner … intelligent life is very very rare and out of trillions of possibilities and with right conditions only then an intelligent life can occur !!! I was spellbound with this information and since then i firmly believe that we as human beings have a greater responsibility to not only save humanity but also this fragile planet and here we are fighting each other in the name of religion and killing each other just to satisfy our bloated egos!!!
We have no clue as to how often life arise, how often it evoles into "us," and if it even evolves into a technological civilzations at all, some may never do that. And even IF there is even one or two civilizations per galaxy, considering there are hundreds of trillions of galaxies, and counting, the universe is likely throbbing with thought and culture and weirdness.
Today in the US congress testimony was given regarding the recovery of crashed non-human craft and the exploitation of said tech by unnamed defence contractors. This is not National Enquirer stuff, bud. Yet here you are wanging on like ET reality is still contested.
I am appalled at the negative ( uneducated ) responses elsewhere here - Brian is a fabulous communicator with unflappable charisma - A true Educator for the upcoming generations. For me - the perfect follow on to Sir David Attenborough ( and even the equally brilliant Prof. Richard Dawkins )
Thank you Mr today Sagan.

My point is 👉 If the Christian deity is truly wise, why didn't He predict that adding a son to Abrahamic monotheism would lead to massive amounts of doubt, genocide and uncertainty?
I agree with the lady, we’re so insignificant, and yet, so determined to prove that we are..
Tomas B
That's right let them disempower you into believing that you are insignificant with bull**** stories about imaginary space travel and distant galaxies.
I am significant and don't believe in fairy stories that I was indoctrinated as a 5-year-old. I am now an adult and I can engage my own brain to think for myself.
Love his T shirt!
There's more than one in our galaxy. I think the periodic table of individual galaxy will greatly increase the chance for life. As the milkyway 100 percent has the ingredients for life we must and I mean we must take it as a fact that life exists throughout our galaxy. As you are the evidence that if the correct ingredients are present life will arise.
I love listening to this baby face professor
Where is this big bank they keep mentioning and how do I set up an account there?
Always like to listen to Brian even if I (as a pure layman) think there are more than one intelligent civilisation per galaxy. I hope to get the answer in my lifetime...

One thing that I can't handle is that Brian is, finally, starting to show the marks of time ... entropy is real :chuckles:
This is why I believe there’s way more going on than we will ever realize. For instance I personally think we’re part of something that, to make it easy to think about, is analogous to the whole universe being the internal structure of some being’s brain (or fill in the blank-doesn’t have to be exactly that, just that our universe is not at all what we ‘think’ it is.) And what’s unique about us vs our elementary particles is that we can observe and break wave functions as the organism needs-that could be something like how the cells in our body mutate for our benefit or repair themselves.
Just a fun shower thought

What a really top bloke. He's my favourite scientist. The way he explains things is unmatched. And the way he ties different aspects of science&nature together. Best all round go to space dude.
Closely followed by Neil, Sean and Lawrence.
Brian, could a black hole act as a matter portal. Sending matter to areas within the multiverse where new universe's are being born? In a form of primordial plasma not unlike the stuff we currently believe was present at the formation of our own universe... Could they be arteries feeding all forms of energy back to the source of energy at the beginning? To keep it constantly firing and the universe growing? Could we be part of something so vast it's incomprehensible, and the black holes lead to a literal cosmic venous system to which the nutrient energy and matter rich material is transported and re-used/re-formed?
I have so many questions.
What a man!!! And what a woman!!o! Brilliant video
Wow! So enlightening. So much knowledge and yet so little. What will it take for all humans to turn their greed and hate for enlightenment.
Very well-done interview.
The other argument is we haven't dug deep enough to know what existed in earth before 2.5 million years ago but Earth has existed for 4.5 billion years. We don't know if there were civilisations that might have existed.
Maybe under the south pole
Will you see Linda Moulton Howe "space force" and three USS Curtis LeMay, USS Hoyt Vandenberg and USS Hellenkotter ?
People like to listen to him or Khalil. People appear not so fond of de Grasse Tyson his manners eventhough they may be talking about exactly the same. Friendly accessible teachers are the best.
Harsh, yelling and condescending teachers are the worst.
I’m not so enthusiastic about encountering another civilization, especially a one more advanced. Think about it, if we found another planet that could harbor civilization, that was already inhabited by a more primitive one, what would stop us from moving in and pushing them aside?
Bear in mind that the number of Earth-like worlds is pretty darned large - the whole alien-invasion meme is based on there being something inherently valuable here on Earth ... and, other than us, there isn't. One of the things we are learning is that, if we want to go somewhere else, we have to overcome our own evolutionary adaption to our own world.
Also keep in mind that we'd have to get there, and that's not happening anytime soon.
Love you so much Brian
Very pragmatic. The essence of gravity, he just draws you in.
"the earth is one planet around one star amongst four billion stars, in one galaxy amongst two trillion galaxies, in the part of the universe we can see.." 😅
Its a great point that if we didn't 'waste' money on these projects, we'd be living in the dark ages still. Electricity, radio, the car, air travel etc all came from people taking a punt and spending the money.
Alan Haynes
But the money is a great investment in brainwashing the sheeple into distraction by actually believing anything that this actor is telling them about the illusionary space travel. The money is very well spent indeed when you see how comprehensive the brainwashing has been.
He soon skipped over what the JWST has shown us... that when we look back close to the beginning of time, we see mature, spiral galaxies, similar to ours.
this interviw was recorded August 22nd 2022.. JWST didnt becone active until July 11th 2022. i doubt there was anything to skip over at that moment in time
@@RussellBurns-nv8er You've either a short memory, or not done any actual research. There were plenty of surprises in that first few weeks of activity from the JWST.

Question I am a beginning Astro physics lover. Are we living in a black hole? Some bh s are billion times larger than sun. A whole galaxy could live in a black hole this size. Some scientist say this. I love listening to you.
Thank you for this beautiful conversation. Beautiful Humans. Both of you. Brian, you are an Original Gentleman because of the way you respected this young lady. Emma, you are a beautiful Lady for the way you lifted the female side of humanity when you suggested that a woman return to the moon. Brian, I agree with you that we are SPECIAL. And I agree with you that we are ALONE. And we have a responsibility to REALITY to preserve the life that occupies the ATOMS. The question below is for your audience. Not the two of you. Because Y'all get it. Emma, the women will lead the world into the 3rd millennium PEACEFULLY. With Compassion.
Why is it that Science and Theology cannot exist as one? By that I mean why is it difficult for humans to accept a creator? Um... Let's call ourselves what we really are according to the intelligent conscious realization of our creator, Humans. YOU are INTELLIGENT CONSCIOUS REPLICATING ATOMICALLY ORDERED PARTICLES THAT CONTAIN POTENTIAL ENERGY. You were CREATED by something PHYSICAL That can be PROVEN through the SCIENTIFIC METHOD. And that physical being now understands itself through YOU HUMANS. Can you not understand you are SPECIAL? WHY HUMANS, Why is it so difficult for you to use your "speed of light" computer located within your personal collection of ATOMS that was perfected through millions of years of evolution. Can you not see with your optical instruments that YOU ARE ALONE in your universe? Can you not use your LOGICAL BRAIN to figure this out? You must LOVE EACH other (THEOLOGY) in order to leave your planet. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO CONTAMINATE THIS UNIVERSE. For it is the first conscious UNIVERSE that has been created by our creator in INFINITY. YES, you are the FIRST CONCSIOUS LIFE TO APPEAR in an infinite volume of space and in an infinite amount of time. INFINITY. And now your genderless CREATOR, who wants to be FEMALE, is CONSCIOUS. She is VERY PHYSICALLY REAL AND she is VERY Conscious. And your CREATOR LOVES ALL CONSCIOUS LIFE just like a mother loves her children. Not just the intelligent conscious life. ALL LIFE. Even the life that has passed through the ATOMS. She is mysterious and she will remain mysterious. DO NOT TRY TO MEASURE HER. She is mysteriously INFINITE. There is a Particle FIELD.
Good interview.
My constant question is, if god exists, who or what created god? Since there is no answer to that, why do people still have faith in one of the gods out there?
