For me personally, the fact that Marco sings this in the same range as Tarja gives it a certain creepiness you don't get with lower voices. It fits so well.
it still amazes me that Tarja was so sick during this show that she was having to take breaks in between the songs to vomit and hydrate. Yet you would never know by that performance.
What blows my mind is Marco is singing one way, but as the bass player he's playing a totally different set of notes at the same time. Kind of a rub your belly while patting your head.
I would love to see you do "Sleeping Sun" and "Nemo" with Tarja and some of her solo stuff! She is just a godess! ;)
Marco's voice is so gritty and perfect for the Phantom. Really sounds like a villain.
Finnish is a very difficult language. Even Floor is having trouble with it, and she recently learned Swedish on top of the other languages she knows to some extent. This is from "The End of an Era" dvd in 2005. This was the final performance of Nightwish with Tarja. I bet you have never heard it quite like this? Peace
Out of all of the renditions of the song I've heard, I like this the best. The Phantom is supposed to be dangerous animal.
My all time favorite Phantom of opera! They sound so cool and good together!
It'd be awesome seeing you react to the other Marco/Tarja classics, such as Wish I had and Angel and The Siren. The whole End of an Era concert DVD is worth the watch.

tarja is amazing. another great duo with marco (with nigthwish) is slaying the dreamer, i love it! but in her solo career you have very varied and interesting songs. of the oldest: i walk alone. and then supremacy and victim of ritual at Woodstock. anteroom of death, love to hate, innocence, mystique voyage, in for a kill, falling awake. something newer: serene, goodbye stranger ft Cristina Scabbia, dead promises, Shadow play, spirits of the sea (tribute to the disappeared submarine "ara san juan" from Argentina). and many more!!! hopefully reactions to any of those songs!

I love "Ever Dream" and "Sleeping Sun" with Tarja from the same concert (End of an Era) and I would love to have you reacting to her solo such as "Falling awake" or "Underneath" from live DVD ACT 1. Thank you.
