Such a brilliant video. The rationale for UNESCO World Heritage status at Matobo Hills is because spiritual practice here has gone on for millennia to present day and this interaction between the religion, the people and the landscape has manifested in the rock art everywhere. Present day local Kalanga people believe that spirits reside in caves, hills and many secluded environments. Cecil Rhodes is buried on the summit of Malindidzimu which translates to "hill of the spirits." My family's homestead is in the shadow of Njelele Shrine just outside the national park, where pilgrims still visit every year for rain making ceremonies and there's plenty of traditional beer to go around. It truly is a very special place. Thank you for showcasing this area.

I would just like to place it on record how grateful I am that you, and your fellow travelers and adventurers, invite us to share in your experiences! And this despite the fact I have actually visited many of the places that you frequent... Nonetheless, you seem to to do a lot of research on the places that you visit and the shared knowledge really is fantastic! The mix of your story as you travel and the the story's of the places you go to makes for a heady and intoxicating mix!
I long to return to reacquaint myself with the wild areas of Southern Africa, however, I am a continent away from Africa currently... Your offerings, among others, go a long way to reminding me of what I am missing!
So, in those times of reflection when you are bit tired and foot-sore from your travels know that there are many grateful and appreciative people out there who cannot wait for the next episode of your wanderings! I look forward to seeing you on the tracks!

Great adventure. I have been following your videos and they are well crafted and informative. I'm sure that this has been stated before, that add the local people to your videos, they are great sources of local information, especially the culture. I was born and grew up in Bulawayo and the Matopos look and feel different each time I visit. The last time we accompanied some tourism buyers from the region and they were blown away. Me being a historian and former broadcaster was roped in as their guide. Fantastic place.
