    Zimbabwe has been battered by mainstream media for over 20 years because we took our land back. We're still under economic sanctions and things are really tough for most people but we're holding on. Most Zimbabweans have never even been to Victoria Falls but thank you for showing that Zimbabwe is not the hell hole as portrayed by BBC and Sky news. Thanks Tayo

      Don't blame Zimbabwe economy on sanctions by foreigners but zanu PF corrupt rule. A country with 95% Unemployment rate is it because of sanctions? Hospitals don't have cancer equipment because of sanctions? Potholed roads due to sanctions 🤣 please be serious!

      That applies to the entire continent. The gaslighting is by the west is so that their people feel better about the drudgery that THEY live in - "You think life is hard, but at least you don't live like people in developing countries", etc. I wonder how many people in Zim live in their cars with their kids vs in the US?

    Zimbabwe has gone through alot in the last two decade. Thankfully, Tayo you are shining a light on this gem of Africa. Growing up we were told Zimbabweans are very educated, I pray they are back on their feet without sanctions and other challenges.

      Come on you should know that probably 30% of Zimbabweans living right now have grandparents from Malawi or a mixed. Including President Robert Mugabe. His father was from Malawi his mum from the area now called Zimbabwe.

    Thank you so much for making this video. I am Zimbabwean born and left when I was 10years old (14 years ago) to live in the UK. Next year, I am finally going back to my home country to see my dad and sisters who I haven’t seen in 14 years since I left. There really aren’t many travel vlogs on Zimbabwe so I really appreciate your documentation and it’s nice watching this as I haven’t been in so long.
    P.s I actually looked you up because ‘Rhett and Claire’ (other travel vloggers) mentioned your last video in their recent vlog. So I looked you up quickly and was pleasantly surprised to see you’d made a video on Zim 🤩. This was a must watch for me, so thank you if you see this comment.

      My sister narrowly missed doing the same thing this year so she'll be your anonymous travel buddy next year! Zim can be beautiful, but prep yourself for the stuff that won't make it into most tourism guides. I'm sure your siblings will give you a good pre-trip briefing. It will lessen the culture shock and keep you safer. Enjoy the trip!

    Zimbabwe and Zimbabweans are amazing forget what you read or hear, unfortunately they suffer same or similar stereotyping Nigeria and Nigerians suffers. Similar to Nigerians, they are not a docile people but like Nigerians also very friendly and protective of visitors on their turf. I have seen what it was like in the late 80’s early 90’s and now I sincerely pray they over come their present challenges very resilient people! Well done Tayo for exposing another African gem😊😊😊😊

    Tayo thank you do much for visiting my darling mothers homeland. She is from the shona tribe. I am a Zambian my dad is. I even went to secondary school in Zimbabwe, because it had some of the best schools in Africa. I will tell my mother to watch you. But Zimbabwe is not what it used to be, it had a powerful currency when I was at school there. Corruption like many African countries has battered it. Sanctions didn't help, but misrule and corruption are the main culprits.

    I work for an airline and our new route is Zim. With so much excitement I told my colleague that I wanna go to Zim first thing next year and he said “why would you wanna go to Zim” I felt like the question came from not seeing much of Zim from the media. I wanna explore the country next year

    I solo traveled by bus from Nairobi to Victoria Falls (through Lusaka to Harare) and it was a fulfilling trip. A very beautiful country with amazing people.
