Mike is not the head trainer on this. He’s a consultant. He is also 100% helping promote the fight. Mike goes to a lot of fighters camps and helps out.
What people need to realize is Kamaru would do much better if he was prepared to grow his body into a true 185er. Khamzat literally mandhandled him in the 1st round. Kamaru striking was really good but the wrestling part killed him big time during the fight. He wasnt expecting Khamzat to be that strong
I think the change to 3 rounds after so many 5 round fights hurt him a little bit too. He was fighting like he had time to spare for most of the fight even after he clearly lost round 1.

khamzat also had a hand injury in the first round. There were so many changes after rd 1 to takedown that he wasn’t able to go for. imo the rest of the fight would’ve been like the first

like Gilbert Burns was saying if it was a five round fight Khamzat would have lost...because Usman was just getting started and the fight was over in the third round.
But it wasn't a 5 round fight. So it's moot point..Usman knew this. This excuse is so lame. Plus Usman dominated Leon for 4.5 rounds and got kicked into oblivion in the 5th...so khamzat could have done the same
