By far, the PS2's most technically impressive game.
and ps3.. and soon ps4
The PS3's was probably GoW 3.
I agree. However, let's not leave out "Resident Evil 4". That game as well as "Shadow Of The Colossus" really showed just what the PS2 could deliver.
resident evil 4 looked and performed better on Gamecube... (also had the handcannon)
Alan Wake Gow3, MGS4 and TLoU for the PS3.
Shadow of the Colossus is my absolute favorite video game ever, which is quite surprising considering I did not grow up playing it. It is one of the only games I would ever truly classify as a masterpiece. Great job on this video, I only knew about one or two facts, loved it!
Same
Four complete playthroughs later and I finally made it up the castle. Eating all the fruit in the land, including the forbidden fruit, will unlock an achievement. You're welcome.
No it won't
+Rpodnee yes it actually will it's called cornucopia but ok.
+Rpodnee PS3 HD remastered... so those were the damn fruits I was missing.
+Brian Worden happy to help ;)
Four playthroughs?
Did you collect all white lizards tails?
I guess you would spend much less time if you had eaten them.
I KNEW EVERYTHING EXEPT THAT LAST ONE!!!! DANGIT!!!!
OMG me too!
telar Iangs EXACTLY. I was prepared to dislike.
telar Iangs IKR IM FUCKING MAD
That one is literally the only fact that you get just by looking at SotC's Wikipedia page. To me, that fact was the obvious one
Keithixix 197 nimrod
my fav game of all time....great vid
vyper majik
Mine too!
:)
damn your number 1 spot, the bit about Dormin just blew my mind.
+noobmaster117 xD
+noobmaster117 freakin' nimrod.
+noobmaster117 Its up for interpritation
Jed Reed yes, because the backwards name isn't an indicator AT ALL
+noobmaster117 he pretty much ruined dormin for me by comparing him to a mere mortal
One of the greatest games that was ever made
I can never get enough of this game; technically and artistically brilliant. Thought I knew in in-depth. Thumbs up!
Nico?
Hey, let's go bowling!
I knew all of these facts no joke I'm amazed at myself
Dude that big Nymph figure in the background is like $300, Im kinda jealous.
+LowTier4Life I picked it up for like $150. Not sure where you're looking for it.
Syy The only place I can find it is on ebay where it goes for anywhere between $230 to $300
+Syy Probably outside of the U.S since everything nerd culture seems to triple in price everywhere but the U.S and Japan.
SAY WHAT!? I found it for 65!!!
Well FYI the sword Frostmourne is worth around $500 or so US dollars at time of release. I had to buy mine with AUS$ so it was more expensive again
Agro is a Female. NOT a male
FBI:Delete this now 🤣
They're both, fool.
Who cares about the gender of a fictional horse?
Her name is arrow
Digital Waterbottle well... she don’t got balls
There was originally a path to the very top of the Shrine of Worship planned, but ultimately scrapped since there was no wizardry in the world that would allow enough of the game map to be loaded at once to provide the views necessitated for that. Still, a lot of normally inaccessible parts of the tower are texture-mapped since that idea was scrapped very late in development.
The mapping was discovered by people riding particular hawks and using a technique referred to as "hawk-humping" to get high enough up to fall onto the top. The landscape below glitched to hell when they did it since it couldn't all load.
That's the one thing I wish they'd finished/restored for the HD remake.
This is one of your best yet.. cheers mate:]
#1 Got me learning. Kudos, have a thumbs up good sir.

Agro is a mare.
Also, bonus fact! The map in the game was designed around the colossi. Fumito Ueda has stated that if the game actually had the 24 or 48 colossi as originally planned, the map would have looked completely different.
+ZeroSpawn47 The 24 colossi was planned on the current map, they just cut 8 of them, so they can focus and make the remained 16 better. In the art-book, you can see screenshots from these colossis, and you can pretty much recognize all the locations. In the intro, you can even see 24 colums outside of the temple, because they finished the intro movie before they cut the 8 colossi. It's a shame by the way, they were almost completed, and the developers just deleted them from the game :(
I've never even met anyone who has even heard of SOTC. I love that game so much. Subscribed.
I recently just started playing this game after realizing I got it for free from PS Plus several years ago on ps3. Having a blast so far
thanks for sharing Syy
Got me with more than I expected 😁 good vid
haha nice Nymph figures in the background 👍
+Dylan Howkins You know it. Nymph is all time best girl.
Syyborg Gaming yeah Nymph is probably my face from hlp
This is my number one favorite game of all time, sharing the spot with Okami. I knew everything except for 2 facts. Thanks for making this! :)
Well done! One of the few top 10s where I didn't know any of the facts!
The alternate ending and the things in the game that the ps2 couldn't handle were the things I didn't know. Great job! Now, let's find out if there is a secret 17th colossi in the game. That there will make my day!
Craig Auclair there is not
Finally I get to Like one of your great videos!
+AJ Universe Thanks!
I actually didn't know the story of Nimrod, but once you gave a brief summary that and the comparison of Shrine of worship. a huge smile spread across my face. I was aware Dormin was Nimrod spelled backwards, i found that out not too long ago actually. That's so freak'n awesome and a bit of information I'm glad to have taken in! nice vid dude. I'm dropping a like
Went in cynically expecting to know it all, but that was mostly all news to me! Good job on the research, certainly earned the like.
Knew every thing on here but liked it anyway cause of your presentation
You got me on the alternate ending and the Babel references, you win a thumbs up! :)
Nimrod is also the name of the very first computer game, in 1951. It was designed to play a game called NIM, a mathematical game strategy where players take turns removing objects from distinct heaps. On each turn, a player must remove at least one object, and may remove any number of objects provided they all come from the same heap. NIM may have originated in ancient times of China. According to the Nimrod simulation website, it states it was the first digital computer and digital computer game.
Ugh man you got me at the very last one.... props
I like how you tell the audience to dislike because you are open to improvements... That's actually admirable.
SO NOSTALGIC!!!
take a shot everytime he says "did you know"
You remind me of the unbathed, unplugged, radio host from Wet Hot American Summer. Great vid!
Got me at 4 and 1
i actually knew about number 7 when i first played the game, i didnt know what to do because i didnt know that raising the sword leads you to the next fight, i had found 4 boss fights and was just wandering around for hours looking for the next super amazing fight.
Yikes, how'd you have so much patience
Epic game and you more than earned that like!
Epic, thanks for the great video!
+Alona Tim Sure thing!
Fun fact that I never see anyone mention: You can get to the forbidden garden a with a much smaller amount of stamina (after doing only 8-10 colossi) if you do small diagonal jumps the entire way instead of climbing. Diagonal jumps use a very small amount of stamina.
very interesting! thanks!
I knew most stuff, but im just liking it because i want to save this video for reference
Yet another awesome vid, keep it up Sy!
+Marcus Godiali Thanks!
Thank you for information
Great job bruh 👍
This was a good video. I knew some of them, didn't know the other ones.
But hey, number 4, couldn't find any proof of that alternate ending one anywhere. Do you have any link to that ending's video?
Knew all the fact but the last one, the Nimrod one. Very clever. Gained a like.
This is my favorite game of all time. Team icos vision is so different from anything else. When I first got to the top I ate a fruit and permanently damaged my grip so once I jumped down I couldn't get back up. Lol. On that particular save
Great video!
I have a different thought on the fruit at the top of the shrine of worship, The fruit in the forrbidden land is the cursed fruit, It gives you more vitality than a mere human would have, the fruit at the top of the shrine is the only fruit that isn't cursed and eating it is cleansing Wander and returning him to a human state
I'll admit, I knew most of these. But there were a few I didn't. I like vids for entertainment value though, and I was entertained. Nice top 10, I enjoyed it.
The last one.... blew my mind away WTF
I've played this game since the PS2 version, nothing I didn't know already. Leaving a like anyway good job!
Just completet the remake and very enjoyed ur video!
btw. u made ur job good ;)
#Like
Syy you are my favorite youtuber (and I watch jse)
The tower of babel... nice touch
almost made it.
number 2 was the one that got me.
I didn't know that you can ride eagles and go off map places! That's awesome! I gave the video a Thumbs-Up because I learned some new stuff.
I can't see how many people liked this. How about you?
Dormin to Nimrod that is probably the most unique trivia you got there friend. They didnt told me that in the other videos.
you did this a day before my birthday
Fact #11: Did you know Agro is a mare? :D
Great video though! Didn't know most of the facts!
I think I'll tro to get to the secret garden sometime.
You got me at number #4 but I knew the rest!
It’s also important to know that the biblical Nimrod was also considered the worlds greatest hunter as well, mirroring Wander’s hunting of the colossi.
"Diehardist of Die hard fans." Love that.
Hello great video got a like didn't know most of these I feel shamed if I had to pick one game to live off of it would be SotC i LOVED IT!!!!! a lot also you can grab fish too just throwing that in again great video thanks:)
I knew all of them but still liked.
I knew a few things, the others were quite interesting. I never even thought about no loading screens in this game, crazy tech for ps2. We need more awesome games like this one
Would've been nice to fight 48 colossi
Heck, even 24
wait so if the girl wakes up earlier you get an alternate ending?
That was the original intended idea if the game found an Ico save file, but was eventually scrapped because not every player would be able to get that special ending
+Dagger Kid How to see that ending?
Daniel Pradhana Saputra I have no idea if there's actual footage or files for the girl to wake up if you have an Ico save file. So I don't know if you can see that ending
I know most of the things you mentioned, but not No.1. That's really something. Thanks for the video. Oh and btw, I believe there is a difference between the HDR lighting in SotC and nowdays' HDR imaging. The former term stands for a strong lighting pattern with bloom effects, while the latter stands for extremely high contrast due to the display capability of more colours.
Out of 10, there were only 2 I didn't know. Still, Great job.
I love this game. I wish the lore was more fleshed out, as I love the game so much I want to learn all I can about the world
they should make 1 or 2 more-games featuring the remaining unused colossi :D
Didn't know the eagle part. Kinda cool. Overall LIKE!
The soundtrack of the game gives me more chills than the PS1 startup sound lol
Where did you get the illustrations of the tower of babel?
We need part 2 of this game, maybe with the originally planned bosses, like another 16
Damn it, I knew all except number 1
havent even made it through #1 and I already had to give a like.
Heheh Dormin's a Nimrod *Beevus Laugh*
where did you get the info about THIS alternate ending? all these years i've never heard about that.
*Slow Clap* DAYM! Loved it!
+sean lambert Glad you did! :D
Coool! The only thing I knew was the #7 😢
Well played.
Need a reboot for this game. Was the Dark Souls of my 9 year old mind.
+Kurokami 黒神 It's already perfect as it is though. It even still looks good.
Well with modern game engines the game would look amazing is all im saying. I'd be an HD reboot any day for PC
Kurokami 黒神
There's an HD remaster for PS3.
vidoxi you sir, deserve my thanks
Kurokami 黒神
No prob bob. It's bundled with Ico which is a good game also if you haven't played it.
I can't believe with the last thing
Deserves a like 100%
Knew all of those except the last one. Great video though!
There are 2 things I don't know. 1--How do you unlock the 8th & 9th bonus boxes? 2--What is contained in them?
Got me with the DORMIN / NIMROD thing, very interdasting....
This game pushed the ps2 to its limits and beyond...stunning game...
I didn't know #2 or #1. All the rest I knew from the "Did you Know?" SotC edition XP
I actually knew all of these :D thanks to Nomad Colossus mostly ;) and the SotC Official Artbook :) I indeed have it :)
Knew these, liking for the obscure ones lol
The only ones I didn't know were number 1,2 and 5
knew everything left a like anyways good quality
That's what I do in all his vids lol.
you're a dork! nice video and I'm a big fan/dork of the game and series too!
I wish we could have a new one with 48 colossi, ps4 graphics and better controls
Well here's another thing no one apparently knows: Agro is a mare, nor a horse. BOOM!
ok you did grate job .
