Buy the 6 series if you want to, I bought one and it had valve stem seal leaks, alternator bracket gasket leak, and a faulty catalytic converter. Which means I had engine out repairs. The labor + parts cost me $6,700. Then 4 new tires and wheel alignment for $1,000 and finally oil change, and air filter at the dealership was $400. That being said this car drops ladies panties. I've never had so many woman eyeing me down and wanting a ride. If you have even a lick of game you'll pull in this car like there is no tomorrow.

I've owned BMW 630ci and it's the worst car ever. Full of Electronic problems. The cabriolet mechanism has its temper.. most of the time, it doesn't work. Ended in embarrassing moments as the cabriolet couldn't close in front of public. BMW gearbox are shit and soft. I've changed mine after the warranty has gone. Great timing, BMW! And the steering rack was a nightmare.

My 2007 650i has 130 000 miles on now and I haven't had any issues in my 4 years of ownership..great vehicle and really reliable if you look after it. Yes the runflat tyres are expensive but that's about it. Buying the jag is idiotic though..you'll have endless problems...English cars and the word "reliable" don't belong in the same sentence. My supercharged range rover and XJ diesel jag were the worst buys of my life...with half the miles on the clock as my bmw they gave endless problems...from timing chain issues, to air suspension going, to injectors going, turbos failing...no thanks..stay german.

IceFish The prices I suppose are very regional dependent, the UK probably with the lowest of prices. A $50K to $5K drop, what does that tell you about the value of a second-hand Jaguar? Leave it to Jaguar to experiment with the Nickasil cylinder liners, to further solidify Jaguars legacy of unreliability...on an epic engineering scale.

Ricardo Ellison...I've had many Jags....XK to XJ....never once have I had any engine problems with either one of them....as long as you service them regular using....."premium parts/oils"....being also why cars are so cheap here in the uk, because of our insurance system kills the car trade....here in the uk it's a buyer's market..... not a seller's market....other words....you get a lot of car for very little money!
