  • In this easy beginner guitar lesson we take a quick, in-depth look at how to play the C chord.
    This lesson is part of an entire series designed to teach you all the fundamentals of guitar:
    czcams.com/users/5MGuitarpl...
    When you're first learning how to play guitar, I recommend practicing chord switching between two chords. That way, you'll be able to learn some easy 2 chord songs on guitar, and can focus on the strumming patterns and all that other (very important) stuff.
    Once you learn a few two chord songs, you'll be able to expand your chord vocabulary and learn some 3 chord songs, etc. It's more important to focus on the whole picture (putting chords & strumming together) than getting carried away with how many chords you know - quality over quantity!
    ► Need help with the basic chords and strumming? My beginner guitar course will help you build a solid foundation one step at a time:
    goodguitarist.com/beginner-gu...
    ► Ready to take strumming to the next level? Strumming Made Simple (from Beginner To Advanced) will teach you how to play + sing at the same time, make your own patterns and more:

      I also have short fingers. When I was learning this chord, just to get playing, I only used the 1st and 2nd fingers. Didn't bother using the third until I was happy with the first two. It helped me keep going and stay motivated. Only for a few months later I had the whole thing down.

      When I was learning, the C chord I was shown only used the 1st and 2nd fingers. I didn't learn the full shape until some months later by which time I was more than ready. Of course I had to be careful not to strum the 4,5,6 strings but that was no big deal as I was able to keep playing and learning new songs. Good luck!

      @Good_Guitarist  Před 7 lety +2

      Hey Terry, it takes a while to train the fingers to make the shape, but I assure you, if you keep trying every day, your finger will eventually go where it needs to go. The C major chord and the Cadd9 sound quite different, so I would keep trying. It's all about persistence. Cheers
