Great to hear, I have had a couple a goes at the guitar too. On previous attempts I started being able to play a few riffs with single strings but always came crashing down with chords - especially C. I feel like I have fat fingers (but that doesn't seem to stop many famous guitarists it seems) and so far a few weeks with a couple of sessions a day has not been enough to get a consistent C Chord but this time I'm determined to get it! Thanks for the tips Nate!

I know im pretty late to this video, but I have just started guitar lessons, I have to admit this chord was causing me a lot of problems as my third finger kept killing the string below. My guitar teacher recomended pushing the string up slightly so that you only just touch the thickest string. This kills the sound of the thickest string incase you accidently strum it and also lifts your finger that little bit heigher so you no longer touch the string below. I hope it helps someone :)

(Index will slightly touch high E) I had to learnt to adjust my strum angle to miss the big string. It can be done. Also recommend playing the G chord with middle, ring and pinky fingers, when learning. It make the G-C switch much easier.

Soooo, I’m an only child and my dad has worked for Fender for 26 years now, therefore I have a ridiculous amount of guitars for someone who doesn’t play. He plays quite a bit but was never taught “correctly” as he says, since he just learned from watching a friend play in his 20s. There’s been so many times he’s tried to teach me to play but every time I get to the C cord I struggle and I mean I struggle bad. I have tiny hands and fingers and it’s just so damn hard for me, I’ve given up every time because of it. I’ve been practicing again since being home for COVID using the Fender Play app but that C cord got me again and they don’t really go in-depth about it on the app. Well I finally pushed through the frustration and I can now play a C with confidence. Your video was the BIGGGGGEST help out of all the videos I watched so thank you! Gonna surprise my dad soon and show him I finally learned and now we can jam together! Just thought I’d let you know even though this video is 2 years old. Hopefully you see it or someone else with a similar issue comes across my comment and pushes through cause it really did help me! Thanks again!!

Mercy! That C chord is keeping me from thriving. I don’t ever struggle with the open F but the open C lots of times has muted strings in it. I’m taking all the tips I can get because I still haven’t gotten that C pretty. Thanks for the advice.
