Wasn't even age, it was injuries. If he didn't have injury troubles, he'd still be clowning everyone in the league right now. Even still, he's averaging 19 ppg this season.
It's a damn shame Wade's prime didn't last longer. At his best only Mike was a better 2 guard. I'll put Wade's best three years against Kobe's and you can make a case either way.

Dwyane Wade's game is the closest ever to a young Jordan where as Kobe's is closer to an older MJ's. Kobe has always relied more on the jump shot than taking someone off the dribble. Wade is just a monster off the dribble though like MJ when he was young.
I think Wade over the last few years has provided the best entertainment on the most consistent basis for the neutral viewer. I'm UK and he's my favourite player... top lad as well
I just love this guy. I have been a big fan of Wade since 2006. I still remember the moment of the final game when Heat hit back its opponent team after losing first two games. He has an incredible magical energy for his play. I'm not sure about him being the best player in NBA but im damn sure he is the best player for giving entertainment of basketball to viewers!

He still can. His knees were a problem for him the whole year. Even with Knee issues, he was still averaging 22 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block in the regular season and 23 points,5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block in the playoffs. The way he last three games of the Indiana series was incredible as well. Especially the last game.
Even though the Heat are the most hated team, I am glad to see Miami competing again. D Wade deserves to be back to try and win another ring, he is simply amazing.
Whats not to like?
1. He's a hell of a player
2. He's a proven winner
3. He's always been overlooked and underrated in comparison to Kobe and LeBron
4. He has style(something lebron doesn't have) and flare
and most importantly, he's very likable because he's humble.
We need this Wade right now more than ever.

I agree The only difference between the 06-09 Wade and D Wade this year is that I think its finally getting to him that he needs to look after himself health wise, so he has smartened up and has shared the load with LBJ and Bosh so he is better off. Wade will probably put up a couple monster games in the playoffs if the heat's back is against the wall. Wade needs to save those special games for when they matter. If he plays smart and fine tunes his jumper, he has 3-4 more good years left in him
Lebron may have one the award, but everyone knows that DWade was the real Most Valuable Player this year. He doesn't need a trophy to prove that. Oh and I'm a Kobe fan and I think Wade should've won MVP in 2009.

Obviously you haven't been watching him, he still play the same but better, smarter and better decision making. his style hasn't changed one bit since he entered the league, just adjusted to the talent as years come.

dunno if anyone saw that Heat/Bucks game like last week i think but Wade got shutdown when the Bucks ran a 2-1-2 zone on him. He still has to do more posting up on the block if he wants to be truly unstoppable. still the best player in the league to me though.

I think last few years, like Wade, Kobe was the man in LAL. But this year both players are taking a step back as they've added players or in Kobe case, his players have grown and developed. LAL is no longer just Kobe, it's a well balanced team with very few weaknesses. Pau Gasol for me is a great player, no one is perfect, but most teams around the league would take him if he was offered for free.
During Shaq's time you had to go to Kobe at the end of the game because of Shaq's free throws.

If Wade had half the caliber of players of the Lakers; he would have easily have been the NBA champ this year. The guy is just spectacular. That happend months after i made the comment. And FTW that was the only time the lakers have beaten the heat since d-wade came back and healthy after 08. Lebron might have been a big reason for theyre wins against the lakers after he joined miami but don't forget that wade has more games on kobe. The only time he actually catches wade off guard is in the allstar game where nobody plays proper defense. Wade tried to this year and he got criticised heavily for it with the "flagrant foul"
