This is life saver! I wanted to crop a knit sweater vest but don't have a sewing machine. Plus, this looks better than sewing it back with sewing machine. Thanks for this useful tutorial! ❤❤❤

Thank you so much! YES! I love how it looks so seamless even though this method takes longer than using a sewing machine. I've been on a break from CZcams and your comment is such a nice welcome back

THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! This is EXACTLY what I needed! I want to crop a knit sweater, and even though I do have a sewing machine, it didn't seem to be the right way to go with the big large knitting pattern full of holes (or I'm just too scared, haha)! This method is PERFECT, especially since it doesn't use a lot of things! THANK YOU AGAIN!

You're so welcome!! Yes, I had a similar thought process with using a sewing machine. Let me know how it goes!

Great stitch work! I really like the idea to recycle your mom's purchases.

I think this is called Kitchener stitch? You use it to close up the toe of socks when you knit them. Thanks for a great video, I’m going to try it.

Hi! Thanks for this tutorial. Were the seams difficult? Did you have to go through any additional steps there or was it all the same process?

    • @paperandleef

Thank you! From what I remember cropping at the seams was not bad although I did have to make sure all loose ends were secure (most likely with double knots) when I separated the sections.

How did you finish the sides after sewing? By the way, this answered SO many questions I had about this method. Thank you!

Thank you! For the sides, I decided not to cut the excess off since I was afraid of it fraying. That'll have to be something I trial and error next! I recently learned of a technique called steeking that is supposed to prevent fraying, but I haven't tried it yet.

Love this tutorial! But my sweater is a tad more complicated lol. Is it possible to do this with a fisherman stitch?

Hi thank you for the support! Did not mean to leave you hanging. Took a long break from CZcams... I am not familiar with the fisherman stitch so I'll have to explore that one! I'll definitely be cropping more sweaters as we got into the fall season :)
