Russell gave me 10 mins of hope for the race then it all came crashing down in buckets of sweat
Lol nice one 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
He did really well.
He didn't run into a single other driver all day.
Congratulations George
He deserve a 1 minute penalty for bluffing😂
@@yt.personal.identification seriously this is a big achievement for George
@@captainrex8769 I am waiting for the montages to start of him hitting someone else and then cutting to an interview of him blaming everything but himself.
One incident after another.
This channel is one of the best things about f1 at the moment
Rocket Powered Mohawk is the goat but do enjoy these two a lot
@@markcrorrigan my bipolar mind enjoys both 😂

More entertaining than most of the races
Maybe
Hulkenberg: Qualifies great
Magnusen: Makes up 4+ positions on first lap
Haas: STRATEGY!
Ends up fighting for the last spots...
I'm pretty sure the Haas just kills tyres and there's not much they can do much about it on a track like this.
I think the whole Haas team is a mess tbh. From bad strategies, to slow pitstops, to any of the drivers always screwing something, to a loudmouth team principal. They are an organizational joke.
God im in pain every week.
@@soundscape26 I think Kmag have been mostly consistently good this season so far(other than the dumb call on staying on slicks in Monaco which the team should also have overruled). He has repeatedly shown good pace, easily placing him in the midfield. But together with rotten luck, Haas seems to always chase long shot strategies that obviously never pay off, which cause them to loose out on more regular 1-2 point finishes. They seem to always do the opposite of the smart choice that everyone goes for, just in case a miracle happens.
Kmag stated several times that he wish they could just try to be more consistently decent, than constantly try to chase wild new setups and strategies.
That binotto friendship with gunther is now manifesting.
WHAT A RACE ALL THE OVERTAKES , ALL THE ACTION, ALL THE FIGHTING FOR THE LEAD, IM A MCLAREN FAN.... KILL ME

@@NadirAgha WHAT WAS THAT SORRY? I CAN'T HEAR YOU
@@crazycjk I'm in pain

The qualifying sessions are way more entertaining than the actual races so far this year
especially monaco's quali
I literally just said this
Amen
This race actually had 107 overtakes . The tv direction has always just been shit for the majority of races .
F1 cars are lapping monster and fun to see being exploited at their maximum, but are racing glass cannon princess. Too large to overtake, too fragile to bang wheels, too aerodynamic dependant to follow, too much brake to properly have a chicken battle except for a damn hairpin or a bowling divebomb, no incentive to not be first, track surfaces are too good to cause unexpected events (go see the Indycar motocross track of Detroit last weekend, it is too much, but it caused chaos without being unfair)
As a Zhou fan, that penalty is a bit harsh. On the flip side, if Yuki didn't have a penalty, I would really be frustrated because that was the only chance for Zhou. After he went off, the dirty tire and lack of DRS meant he wasn't able to nail Yuki down, and I do feel like he deserved a bit more space than half a car width on the outside of turn 1, especially when he was marginally ahead of Yuki into the braking zone.
He should've just backed out, which any experienced driver would do, look at Hamilton 2021 and Sainz on the first lap this race, backing out is the smart idea which he hasn't learnt yet
@X--jq1xfdickhead for that question
@X Ideally all drivers will have fans. It's too easy to be a glory hunter kind of fan, so respect to those who support drivers from lesser teams.
Same here, I didn't know other Alfa Romeo/Sauber fans existed lol. And even though I like Yuki and I'm loving his performances, Zhou was definitely alongside and should have been given room, I was angry at the TV 😂
@X He's cool and a pretty decent racer. What's not to like.
George got so sweaty he almost made his team put him on wet tires
Once again, I am asking to bring back the team social media championship. I need to know if Haas can retain their title.
Ferrari manages to outscore themselves in dumbness everytime. However, during this weekend Charles personally was nowhere
starting him on hards and pitting so early made no sense. and then pitting for the softs? he was on those softs longer than the hards
I see either 2 scenarios, 1. he's used up all his talent at Ferrari or 2. something was wrong with his car.
@@ireneasare9552 i can see vettel 2019/2020 strategies there
I think Charles' motivation is running quite low. That's what I get from his body language and general demeanour. Sure he never expected to have only 42 points in 7 races.
@@ireneasare9552 They expected better pace on the hard tyre. It's not a bad strategy to start on hards when you're that far down. Unfortunately Charles' pace was nowhere. He was a second a lap slower than the likes of the Mercedes or Sainz, so they had to get him off those tyres. With the softs his pace improved. I don't really see a strategy blunder here, Charles was just slow.
This series is awesome! The only improvement is that I would very much like to see the return of the Social Media Team Championship :)
What really funny is on OFFICIAL sky and F1 videos the comments say "I can't wait to see Mat's reaction on Farrai" 😂😂
Ferrari strategy never ceases to amaze. I had a chuckle as they reassured Carlos all was good early in the race, fully expecting it to be wrong and sure enough.
Yuki was absolutely robbed. This was the worst way he's lost a good result so far this year. McLaren and Ferrari fans have it worse than Yuki fans this year, but the teasing where it looks like he'll get points only to lose out in the last few laps is infuriating. He deserves so much better for how he's ben driving that car so far this year.
Looked like Zhou had a front-wing ahead of Yuki. Though he may have bailed out prematurely. Idk, I seem on the fence for this. 5s is definitely too harsh, but he should probably have given the position up.
@@Dyils in my opinion he bailed too early and Yuki left enough space, watching the replays it looks like he left space for an entire car and another wheel or so which seems like plenty. So I don't even think he should have given up the position. Maybe I could be convinced of that idk.
Main point is that the penalty was far too harsh and the stewards are incredibly inconsistent. Yuki's defence was a lot less dangerous than Ocon on Alonso for example.
he'll still get the red bull seat
@@KingofWolves3277 nope.
The Russell/Rain memes were excellent 😂
This was one of the best overall weekends of the year in my opinion. Lots of interesting storylines. We all knew max was going to win but, from P2 on back was a good race all around. The new track layout was great also.
Couldn't agree less ,It was probaly worse than Miami
@@ayrtonvennkeane9315 well I couldn’t agree less with you
@@ayrtonvennkeane9315 Fantastic weekend. You are simply wrong.
Pretty sure uncle 'Nando has a clause in his contract in which he agrees when a podium is pretty much out of the question and he's right behind Lance, he'll let him keep the position...
It looked like how I would let my little sibling win occasionally at games so she'd build confidence and doesn't get tired of the game altogether by always losing.
I mean the one position that he would gain is nothing to nando in the championship right now and everything for stroll
No, there is no such thing as that. AM didn't even know podiums would be possible when they signed him
Alonso just didn't do it because Stroll didn't do it in Baku.
@@paperplane-db8qf they respect each other and have a good relationship, there was nothing to gain either since Fernando couldn’t catch the Mercs today
"Tell Lance not to worry" best radio message all day from Alonzo.
I promise you no such clause exists, Fernando is a former WC, he wouldn't ever agree to such a clause.
They might have a gentleman's agreement, but certainly no contract clause.
yes it was big of him to let Lance have the place, and very teamy
Yuki doesn’t deserve that penalty lol
Russel thought it was rain, but it was real sweat. He's a high performance athlete, athletes sweat. Sweat, baby. kikiki, rrraaaa, sweat sweat, ooo ooo
Lmao nice
Has anyone mentioned the fact that Tommy looks like the kid who was crying when kimi Raikkonen’s car failed a few years ago, that’s wild.
Plot twist he is .
Alonso playing the 'team game' and not overtake the boss's son is kind of memeable.
it would've been hilarious if he had just overtaken Lance anyways as a lesson in ruthlessness (part of Lance's training program).
Alonso probably got a bonus check for not overtaking the owner's son.
It's not though. He had no chance to get the cars ahead. So Alonso should get 6th gifted to him because you like him better? Vettel let Stroll by in a race to attack the cars ahead. When he didn't get the job done, Stroll let Vettel back through. It's funny to me how biased people are. But there is no precedent for just letting a driver by just because (no possibility of catching cars ahead). And so if Stroll wouldn't just let him by, then they would be fighting. And that's where the risk comes in. I mean, come on, this track is infamous for teammates coming together when they fight (ahem, Rosberg/Hamilton?).
I was happy my first twitch watch along was the qualifier and seeing Matt yeet his headset. I hope he had a cushion there for them 🤣
My favourite radio all day was Alonzo "Tell Lance not to worry," as hes closing in behind at rapid pace "Im just getting a gap to those behind, I wont overtake"
Mclarens fans watching Indy = Life is Great

Idk man, the Indy 500 was pretty painful...
F1 with Matt and Tommy is just always perfect!! @FIA let these two amazing gentlemen commentate a race!! Keep up the amazing work you wonderful people!!
I hope the special guest is Katie. I miss her being on the podcasts.
What happened to her? She seems to have dissapeared completely from the scene.
@nishd7161 I saw her on "The Last Lap" podcast and she was talking about why she left WTF1 and what she's doing now.
@@nishd7161 She has her own podcast called Small Torque and just a couple days ago interviewed James Vowles for Sports Illustrated for instance. She's out there.

Since this channel was started only Red Bull has been on P1.

Another great episode. You guys are one of my favorite parts of each race weekend. I hope the special guest is Katy.
Poor Lando, heartbreaking to watch
When Lando and Lulu makes mistakes: "iT's aN uNForTuNatE MiSTaKe"
When Rosberg and Vettel do: "aNotheR miStAKe uNdErPreSSurE'
Idk how Lewis won DOTD when Russell started behind a RB halfway down the feild and still ended up on the podium
George is underrated and under-respected unfortunately.
They both did better than whingelonso
Don’t know how that fraud was ever in contention for driver of the day. Then again his fangirls are desperate to try and retain his spiralling reputation
@@AZBCDEE are you ok 😂
With 5 or so laps to go Checo was leading the voting, so...
@@AZBCDEE Alonso got as many podiums as Max this season but go on about his "spiraling" reputation😂
amazing vid as always
The exchange in shirts between you guys is hilarious 😂 😂 😂
Ferrari just needs to fire their strategists. Nobody could do a worse job. Leclerc pitting early on hards…Sainz pitting early, then going to hards with 20 laps left, after watching Mercedes do 25 laps on softs with a full tank…Feels like an inside job at this point.
Russel: It's spitting rain over here!
Dudley: I think you're talking with consumption George?
Did no one catch the moment Brundle called Yuki a Chinaman? He knew as soon as he said it😂couldn't believe it lol.
Not a single meme about Alonso sitting behind Stroll and stating he'll baaaaasically let Stroll stay ahead? It was my #1 meme prediction for this whole episode!!! Shocking...
No change in points. I remember a time Vettel let Stroll by to attack the cars ahead. When it didn't pan out, Stroll gave the position back. This is normal, healthy team behavior....not something most F1 teams are used to. I think people love drama.
In this case, Alonso had no chance to catch the cars ahead. And so Stroll should gift Alonso 6th? And if not, then they fight for position? Then there is a risk.
Just smart teamwork.
Even worse than Leclerc stopping early was Ferrari putting him back on the same set of hard tires for the 3rd stint that he started the race on (or at least it appeared that way, tire age graphic showed 28 laps on lap 46). Could have saved a stop and just ran long to begin with. Even if they were new hard tires it still doesn’t make sense: he came in for his 2nd stop on lap 41/42 after running 25 laps on a set of soft tires. With all the extra softs they had leftover from qualifying, they could have fitted a new set and run another 25 laps to the end.
Ferrari and Charles pain as consistent as the tweet of the week/funniest tweets shows.
Please bring back the social media championship

Yet another race in which we show that Lando lacks racing IQ
This was s Good Race! The new configuration of the track helped 100%
First meme GIF is excellent, it is from the Finnish Sketch Show Kummeli they made back in the day, that was Jankon Kone sketch :D

'Tommy, the Ferrari fan'
Ah, yes. The parallel universe
Already out of tissues after the first minute of this vid.
the end of the race where nando said on the radio that he won't attack stroll when he clearly got the better pace, he definitely got a big pay check for that 😂
Been a while since I’ve seen the safety car lol
0:48 Jankon Betoni! TORILLE!
"Turn 5" was a dead giveaway it wasn't actually raining.
As a Mclaren fan I had to wait a week to watch this video so I don’t cry again
As a Zhou fan, I skipped all pre-race shows and podcasts and was pleasantly surprised by his performance. Now I'm going to rewatch all of the videos I missed.
Russell peeded, G forces pushed it up to his helmet and he called it rain😂😂😂
Alonso literally put it on record that he could defo of passed Lance but he wont. 😂
And we almost caught hope for McLaren😐
That Bottas meme is so true!
We need to bring back some sort of segment for funny tweets by teams and drivers, it was real quality stuff over the recent years!
that Yuki meme is brilliant 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Lando wanted to lap Max in the last race when it was raining. 😂
Thank you Matty and Tommy for the wonderful contents!
On the fight btw Zhou and Yuki, I suggest everyone watching Zhou's cam. Two things are clear: 1. Zhou was already ahead of Yuki at the radiant line originating from the apex of turn 1; 2. Yuki had his tyres locked up and bumped into Zhou straight (the front wing almost touched Zhou, which could inevitably give rise to a massive crash).
FIA's inconsistency should not be deemed as an excuse for any infraction against the rules. If someone evades the rules, go question on that standing instead of absolving the other rule breaker of the punishment to their mistakes.
The merch swap in the livestream is something interesting
I demand to hear Yuki after learning he got a penalty and won't get any points! That cuss storm must be epic
Tommy and a "Special Guest".... is it Conor Moore as Matt?
Has anyone asked Max what podcast he listens to after the first corner?
Russell be like it's raining Toto pit Lewis for inters🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Charles missing Bonito badly🤣🤣🤣
I am glad Matt shaved his eyebrows before this episode
Tommy’s McLaren flop prediction after quali 📉 Tommy’s McLaren flop prediction after the race 📈
what I want to know is how have we been able to go so long without a safety car
The Russel rain meme. There was actually some drips at T3/T4/T5. I was sitting there at T3 corner and I gor exited too. But it was just very very few droplets.
Russel shut up😂😂😂🤣
Where was the rain? Well, it's very simple:
Mother Nature has been fucking with us Motorsport fans all season long. Rain hitting hours before the Miami race, rain waiting to hit until late in the going in Monaco, rain only hitting for F2 and random sessions throughout the weekend; it's madness. Hell, for NASCAR fans it's even worse because races keep getting delayed. Mother Nature hates us all so far this year.
Seeing matt wearing redbull stuff is weird but seeing tommy wearing Ferrari stuff is uhhhhh. I couldnt imagine tommy wearing Ferrari stuff and still cant believe it 😂.
ow lame Sainz said that 'be patient, pace is good" when everyone catching him from behind.
Young redbull driver leading the race by half a minute. Race engineer bagging him to slow down, instead going for the fastest lap. Sounds familiar :))
Ferrari doing Ferrari things make me laugh.
It's a 1% chance with no latafi Matt 😂
I almost fell asleep during the race
Get your well deserved break Matt!
Literally put "struggling McLaren fan" in my profiles lol
The pain
The rainium in Spainium falls mainly from the cranium
Yuki even didn’t speak a word on radio this time after being told about his penalty. He was so shocked I felt very very sorry. I just don’t get it some people still treat him like he is just screaming on the radio. It was such a strong and beautiful drive from him I thought….
You know you screwed up when you go for hards and not even K-Mag is using them.
Max wanted that grand slam sooooo bad. It was hilarious! Top tier alpha driver move
I don't like forcing the 3 compound rule, but making tyres that wear enough on tracks would be great.
