I actually think it is awful they are sponsored by Mercedes. Come on, we need them to BURN any team if they deserve that. No holding back whatsoever because of a partnership. This is what conflict of interest looks like.

Seeing the AMG Petronas logo for a channel owned and run by a Ferrari and Red Bull fan is just funny to me. Happy for you lads.
I'm a bit concerned about their creative freedom now that they're being sponsored by a team, whichever one it might be. I wouldn't want M&T to end up back in a similar position they were in the last few months of wtf1, just of their own making this time
@@illbeV I think if they saw outside influence, they would rather leave a sponsor than change their own mentality. They seemed to be doing fine the last few months without Mercedes, so I'm sure if need be, they would rather sack their sponsor than to lose freedom.
@@illbeV I think it's only for this weekend - they spent the race at the Mercedes hospitality, presumably in return for the mention on the channel. They did a similar thing with Red Bull at Monaco a few races ago.

I was so gutted for Piastri after the safety car. He did amazing and really deserved that rookie podium. Hope he gets another chance this season, But he definitely showed that he is worthy of that seat. I don’t know how much difference the extra upgrades on Norris’ car are worth, but he stayed close to Norris throughout the entire race. Major props to McLaren, let’s hope they can keep it up.
I was so amazed when he just pulled away from Leclerc, unbelievable.
And he finished within a second of Hamilton. He didn't give Russell a single chance to attack. Few more laps and he could have attacked Hamilton I think; although Hamilton could have been pulling back in the end seeing he has no chance at P2 once Norris started pulling away.
Piastri impressed significantly and I’m happy to admit I was wrong about him. He held his own at the sharp end of the grid and really was on track for a podium before that SC
It’s definitely very impressive that he kept up just because he’s so new to F1, but the difference between their cars for this particular race has been heavily overstated. The only extra upgrade Norris had for this race was the front wing, based on everything I’ve seen/heard it can’t be worth more than a few hundredths, at most a tenth.
@@armadillolover99I agree, but let it be a tenth and his gap to Norris on Silverstone would have been just 3 hundreds.
Piastri might be the best rookie since Verstappen. For me, he is at least up there with the likes of Leclerc, Russel and Norris
Fun fact: if RB had won in Brazil last year they would currently be on a 21 race win streak with Max having won 17 of them.
A fact, maybe, but definitely not fun. It was depressing realizing after the race Red Bull has a real shot at having a perfect record this season

@@duuudde12no part of that sounds pretty nice lol. Verstappen winning everything is just boring, love him or hate him. From a fan's perspective, no point having an exciting aggressive wheel to wheel racer like Verstappen in the sport if he's going to win by 30 seconds each race.
Every qualy is exciting. This race was not an easy 1 to win for rb and i like seeing mv win. Even more important he won in the UK. The english booh are a disgrace but i think that is only talked about when the dutch fans misbehave.

Everyone keeps talking about Lando's start (which was amazing) but what about Oscar. If you look carefully at the start, Oscar pulled up right next to Max which delayed Max slightly allowing Lando to get away. Oscar was incredible and my heart broke when the safety car came out.
I loved the roar when Lando passed Max, I even loved the silence more when Max passed Lando a few laps later…..😂
It was like the whole attendance were trying to agree in an unified curse and failed. They should have taken a page from Top Gear:

So gutted for Piastri. He stayed on Lando’s pace for the whole race and was so unlucky with the safety car. I hope McLaren didn’t just fluke it for one race and he gets his podium soon!
For real, also with how Lewis was losing pace if he just had a few more corners it could have very possibly been p3 even with that luck with the safety car
Regarding Bernd Maylander and Track Limits, on the german broadcast the commentators joked about how track limits don‘t apply to touring cars or else there wouldn‘t have been any cars in the Porsche Super Cup after 4 laps because they all took the corners where possible like that 😂
I've been a McLaren fan for 20 years or more now. We've had a rough few years, 2020 and 2021 started to look good but I think now we are starting to see a genuine McLaren resurgence
Very optimistic, but lets hope the resurgence isn't as short lived as Ferrari's "resurgence" in 2022
We'll stay hopeful but ultimately know it'll go to shit again

Surely it's utterly misleading, both Aston Martin and Ferrari didn't show up, add Perez's failure to deliver again and it looks more like McLaren just got lucky.

When I was watching the Spanish commentary of the Grand Prix, they explained that McLaren had a lot of degradation in the soft tyres during practice, which is why they put hards on

I think we're legitimately seeing the new regulations do what they were meant to do. The competitiveness between the teams now is really good and over half of them have a podium. The regulations just failed to account for Verstappen
Yeah it's an amazing season so far, sure Verstappen walks away with the championship, but everyone behind him are swapping places like crazy at the moment

I was at the British GP all weekend, and it was absolutely amazing. Watching from the Luffield grandstand as Bottas broke down in front of me in quali, joining in the banshee shrieks as Lando took provisional pole for a few seconds and led off the line at the start, attending the P1 Podcast Live from the main stage, seeing Ferrari Ferrari up Charles's race from the grandstand opposite pit entry at Vale, celebrating podiums for Lewis and Lando and points for Alex, joining in the track invasion post-race and getting to walk on the track and see the pit lane where champions have fought and raced for 75 years now. It is an experience I will never ever forget.
You two are great and deserve all the recognition from the F1 fan family. Keep up the great work guys, you are awesome.

9:18 this sums up this entire season. Max can do his parade laps ahead of everyone else every race, but its the fight for second that matters now.
I said this elsewhere, but if there is even a smidge of a chance that Max gets DSQ’ed from the whole year, that will completely reshape the dynamic of this year from a Verstappen bore test to a truly EPIC all out brawl between drivers and teams!
That’s just how good this battle for second is!
@@greatsageclok-roo9013 The only chance that Max is getting DSQed is if he decides to emulate Michael Schumacher in 1997 and take out his rivals in order to win - which he doesn't need to do cos he's winning already.

@@greatsageclok-roo9013 I wasn't suggesting Max was actually going to do it, I think he's above those sorts of dirty tactics. Schumacher only did it in a failed attempt to win a championship in the final race of the season, while Max has no need to do something like that in order to win.

I make no secret of it that I would love to see Max smash every single existing record, but if Lando had won the race I would have been in peace with it. For dry conditions it was a good race, and the new rules are starting to show the effect.

I think Sainz experienced the heart-breaking event Leclerc had last year trying to fight with used hard after a safety car restart. Also, is no one gonna talk about how Sainz said he forgot what plan B is? A prime example of why labeling to plan G does nothing, unless plan G is your only plan.
